The paper studies on the cooperation between the humanities & social sciences and natural science & technology in 1990's. The article showed policy alternatives about the crisis of humanities & social sciences. That was science wars and we heard that was announced by Sokal affair. In this article, the author inquired into the Korean research policy's crisis and presented the policy alternatives about the crisis of humanities & social sciences and natural science & technology in various ways. In the concrete, the policy alternatives are cultural critique of technology and science and science & development of domain about interdisciplinary studies at the humanities & social science and natural science & technology. In conclusion, First, the author showed the appraisal and institutionalization of interdisciplinary studies. Second, the researcher proposed few policy alternatives and developmental area of interdisciplinary studies between the humanities & social sciences and natural science & technology.

Many alternatives to Trichlorothane & Trichlorotrifluoroethane mainly used as cleaning solvent for industrial parts are developed and commercialized because the solvent is scheduled to phaseout after 1996. Considering there are many kinds of parts and contaminants in all parts cleaning, It is essential to investigating the characteristics and performance of the alternatives prior to use. For the contaminant of a standard oil, waters, hydrocarbon and halogen parts which are the comercially available and promising alternatives were experimented at the same condition of Trichlorothane & Trichlorotrifluoroethane to check the cleaning performance. Overally, the removal efficiency of halogen solvent parts was better than that of hydrocarbon or waters parts for removing the standard oil used in this experiment.

The number of small businesses being founded nationally is constantly increasing and various kinds of aggressive efforts are being made to remain competitive. As such, political support by the government for small businesses that have great productivity and competitiveness must increase. The founding of small businesses is being promoted by the government in order to boost the economy, and interest in founding new businesses is high amongst not only college students, but even general workers. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine problems regarding the founding of small businesses, and to give new businesses a competitive edge by presenting political answers to these problems. After analyzing the status of current issues concerning the foundation of small businesses, this paper suggests some positive policy alternatives. Existing studies on small businesses were focused on the promotion of small and medium distributors, and studies on policy alternatives aimed directly at promoting the businesses are, so far, insufficient. Further studies are required to examine political alternatives from the perspective of the roles of non-profit organizations, which the Government is responsible for, in supporting small business.

This paper has provided a systematic technique, the evaluation of the distribution with the NPV ana the derivation of the IRR in the investment alternatives, for the cost estimating analysts. The proposals of investment alternatives are included the venture capital under risk and probabilities at each events, within the cash inflows are occuring at random timing. Therefore. we have considered the followings : 1) the first cash outflow is deterministic. 2) the cash inflows are random variables with known distributions. 3) the lengths of the time intervals between the cash inflows are independently distributed and independent of the cash inflows. In this paper. the first two moments of the distribution, the Laplace Transforms and the convolutions are computed for both independent cash inflows and mutually exclusive alternatives as in the case of quite correlated cash inflows.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the difference in the solar rights between the suggested alternatives quantatively at the building design stage. To make the analysis method can be applied to any location, the solar rights analysis method utilizing Waldram diagram and solar rights table is suggested, and computerized for an accurate. quick and quantitative analysis. The solar rights analysis for two design alternatives was processed in accordance with the development of the analysis method. The results of the study are : 1) An algorithm to analyze the difference of the solar rights between two design alternatives with the classified codes, was developed. 2) A method to generate the solar rights table to evaluate the difference in solar rights, when two design alternatives was presented on the Waldram diagram was developed and computerized.

This paper presents an interactive decision procedure to aggregate each group member's preferences when each group member articulates his or her preference information incompletely. An index, an indicative for the preference strength between alternatives, is derived to aid each decision maker to articulate preference information about alternatives. We develop a mathematical programming model that can establish dominance relations when the preference information about values of alternatives, attribute weights, and group member's importance weights are provided incompletely. Also, the preference relation between alternatives is to be considered in the model. Based on the preference strength measure and mathematical model, we develop an interactive group decision support procedure.

Recently, mobile telecommunication businesses contend with each other to expand their customer base by using aggressive marketing strategies. In order to determine if there strategies are effective, customer's switching behavior needs to be studied. This study identifies and analyzes direct, indirect factors that may customer switching behavior : attractiveness of alternatives, network externality, and switching cost. Results reveals that attractiveness of alternatives, network externalities have a direct impact on customer switching behavior. These two factors also have moderating effects on customer switching behavior but the switching cost does not In short, network externalities and alternatives strategically determine the success of 3.5G service. In this regard, mobile business should improve their own attractiveness of alternatives by developing specialized service in 3.5G service.

Some rank score tests are proposed for testing the equality of all sampling distribution functions against umbrella location-scale alternatives in k-sample problem. Only the case of known peak $\ell$ is considered. Under the null hypothesis and a contiguous sequence of unbrella location-scale alternatives, the asymptotic properties of the proposed test statistics are investigated. Also, the asymptotic local powers are compared with each others. The results show that the tests based on the Chen-Wolfe rank analogue statistic are more powerful than others for unequally spaced umbrella location-scale alternatives and robust.

Since most engineering problems have had open-ended and ill-defined characteristics, design process is in advance attended with determination of alternatives based on realistic constraints after definition of appropriate problem. And it is completed with selection of best alternative through their comparison and investigation, and with performance of selected-alternative's detail design. As the process of structural design compared with that of general design, this paper presents a paradigm which can generate structural design alternatives, select optimum structure among them and simultaneously set its optimum design variables in reference of several objective as a result in more extended design region. For this purpose, specialized genetic algorithms which can handle design alternatives and multicriteria problems is used.
