Analysis of Correlation between the Budget Allocation to the Busan-Gwangyang Port and the Political Variables (부산.광양항의 예산배분과 정치적 변수에 대한 상관관계 분석)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between the budget allocation of Busan-Gwangyang port and political variables such as general election, presidential election, local election and political regimes. To do this, this study did correlation analyses using budget data of all ports in Korea, Busan, and Gwangyang during 1985-2007. The main results of the correlation analyses are as follow: First, there was a positive correlation between budget of Busan and local election. Also, there was a positive correlation between budget of Gwangyang and presidential election. This results suggest that public choice model and political business cycle model seem to apply to the port development policy. Second, there was no correlation between the regionalism of the political regime and budget of Busan-Gwangyang ports. Third, it can be inferred that the national agenda of the hub strategy can be positively related to the implementation of port development budget. Further studies are needed to analyse the relationship between the political variables and establishment of port plan, decision making about port development and ground-breaking of port construction.

  • In the light of necessary analysis on the cooperation and development between ports and shipping line, and the characteristic of cooperation between international ports and shipping lines, the article analyses the operating strategies in actual shipping lines benefits to the cooperation between ports and shipping lines. After all-round analysis on the cooperation and development between ports and shipping lines, the author presents the running model of ports and shipping lines in Far East, which is the integration of operation between ports and shipping lines (namely integration of logistics service network).   • In this Paper, Bit selectable and Bi-directional Interface Port is described, which can communicate data with the peripheral devices. Specially A description of the asynchronous design method is given to remove the clock skew phenomenon and the output asynchronous control method which finds the optimal clock and controls all the enable signal of the output pins at the same time is presented. Using this technique interface ports have delay time of less-than 0.5㎱.

  • In this paper, graphical representations of parameter variations affected by series or parallel feedback in the load plane were studied. As a result of transformations, all parameters of 2-port was converted to circles, and the step of noise circles and gain circles was 0.1 dB and 1dB, respectively. Compared with conventional commercial CAD softwares, the circuit design procedures could be verified much more systemically. This CAD was programmed in C-language and executed in IBM-PC with VGA graphic adaptor.

  • This Paper deals with the development of Incheon International Airports and Pusan and Kwangyang Ports as Hub Ports in order to systemize nationwide logistics networks. Now, Korea has core competences in terms of social overhead capital, telecommunication, information technologies, all fields of manufacturing plants, and the other infra-structure. As the environments of North-East Asian countries changes dynamically, at least we should keep up with the situations which require to meet the globalized level of international logistics services in Pusan and Kwangyang Ports to be a competitive Hub Ports in this region.

Specially the case RFID technology of Port Logistic Industry will be applied it is forecast with the fact that it will bring a many effect. The government leads introduces a RFID technology of Port Logistic Industry through the various demonstration business. But it is many with the research insufficient the depression against an actuality improvement subject and the depression of technical know-how strategy and it is difficult it is undergoing. In order to solve this problems, we propose an introduction of technical know-how Road Map that we select ranking with Existing literature investigation and the present business demand anaylsis. In the future this research it it forecast in future the successful guide line to the RFID technology introduction of Port Logistic Industry will become.

An Analysis of Technical Efficiency of Port Labor Using DEA/Super Efficiency (DEA/초효율법을 이용한 항만노무 효율성 분석)

  • This paper measured and evaluated the technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of port labor via three inputs and three outputs using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). First, the average overall technical efficiency measured about 94.18 %, with 100 % pure technical efficiency being larger than 94.18% scale efficiency. As a result, 7 ports were identified as efficient, and 4 ports were identified as inefficient. Among the 4 ineffiecient ports, Donghae had the highest Increasing Return to Scale (IRS). However, the inefficient ports were all found to be less efficient in terms of resource operation than production scale. On the other hand, the efficient ports established priorities using the super efficiency method. As a result, port efficiency was highest for Incheon, Mokpo, Pyeongtaek-Dangjin, Masan, Yeosu Gwangyang, Jeju, and Gunsan-Daesan Ports, in order. In particular, Busan Port, found to be inefficient, would benefit from using Mokpo Port and Incheon Port as benchmarks to increase trade volume and modernize equipment for full-scale commercialization to improve labor efficiency.

  • Busan port, which had ranked at 3rd busiest port following Singapore and Hong Kong in 2002, has been nudged out of 5th place. Growth of China ports threatens Korea ports to be a hub port in Far East Asia. Therefore, Korea ports are needed to establish competitive strategies to overcome a crisis of local ports. In this paper, the question, 'Who is my competitor?' is examined There is a different aspect between this work and many studies that has been done before, because the fore studies focused on the competitive factors or port efficiencies. Above all, the meaning of competition among ports has been summarized through existing literatures. Next. the competition structure among ports is researched, based 0/1 import-export traffic of five local ports including Busan.

  • According to the issue "global warming", many regulations and agreements with countries in the world are becoming set and it is being fulfill now. Under the progress of Post Kyoto Protocol agreement, It will be sure that Korea rave a duty to reduce $CO_2$ emission from 2013. For them, Korea have to make a strategies about the Climatic Change Convention for all industries. Recently, a great attention about $CO_2$ emission in the world is focused on port, shipping line and airline. Most countries are establishing policies to prevent environment from these industry fields, but Korea has not yet made for them. Thus, Korea need to collect $CO_2$ emission data not only the routes of container from port but also activities in the port. In this paper, an estimation of $CO_2$ emission under the route of container transportation at Korea by using O/D analysis will be addressed. And then, it will be used to make a optimal routes of container transportation which can reduce $CO_2$ emission in future.
