The Research on NAUT Characteristics Evaluation by Defection Image (결함 화상화를 통한 NAUT 특성평가 연구)

  • The NAUT(Non contact Air coupled Ultrasonic Testing) is one of the ultrasonic wave inspection methods. It compensates High power ultrasound Pulser Receiver, pre-amp, air probe of high sensitivity in air to generate loss energy by NAUT methods. Generally, in case of ultrasound inspection, it applies contact methods by using couplant. However it can inspect of UT without couplant by this NAUT. The ultrasound transmission reception is composed in stable condition in NAUT. It can inspect high low material or the specimen of rough part, the narrow spot, too. The spot welding is applying the inosculation of automobile component, car body, all boards. The CFRP is necessity of NDE because of the solidity changes material according to lamella tearing. Therefore it checked on realization whether and commercialization in the spot welding and CFRP inspection that the NAUT would be applied them.

  • In this paper, we proposed to the inspection algorithm for cap, Electric fuse is an over current and circuit protection device which is occurred in electric & electronic appliance. Also the fuse are protection the second hazard at arc etc. Fuse are interest regarding a safety increased. Consequently, the fuse came to be very important. Cap inspection algorithm is designed for the cap of fuse. CCD camera is monitering the solder of cap distribution map. The conditioning of fuse cap; suming all searching data with non solder area. the area is bigger reference data then the cap is bad cap.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop image inspection system endows an automatic operating and measuring that the moment values are invariant with respect to variable object size and rotation. In this paper, using these moment feature vector with Hu s 7 invariant moment is also given. The characteristics of section which is applied in the mechanics used moment descriptor of invariant moment detection algorithm for image inspection system. Corresponding rates between 94% and 96% have been achived for all object tested.

Use of the Mass-Spying Lattice Model for Simulation of Ultrasonic Waves in Austenitic Welds

  • Feasibility is studied for an application of the mass-spring lattice model (MSLM), a numerical model previously developed for unidirectional composites, to the numerical simulation of ultrasonic inspection of austenitic welds modeled as transversely isotropic. Fundamental wave processes, such as propagation, reflection, refraction, and diffraction of ultrasonic waves in such an inspection are simulated using the MSLM. All numerical results show excellent agreement with the analytical results. Further, a simplified model of austenitic weld inspection has been successfully simulated using the MSLM. In conclusion, a great potential of the MSLM in numerically simulating ultrasonic inspections of austenitic welds has been manifested in this work, though significant further efforts will be required to develop a model with field practicality.

  • This paper presents evaluating procedure for engine generator operated over 13 years which are usually installed at the island and therefore, isolated to the main distribution line. To decide continual operation of the generator, their diagnosis results should guarantee safety running. So the determination of criteria for continual usage or replacement is essential for economical and reliable maintenance. We present all the courses of evaluating the condition which includes the processes from acquiring basic data to comprehensive determination of generators. All the test was applied to serial number 3 generator in Jodo Engine Power Plant.

A study on the corrosion evaluation and lifetime prediction of fire extinguishing pipeline in residential buildings

  • This study is conducted for the evaluation of corrosion and lifetime prediction of fire extinguishing pipelines in residential buildings. The fire extinguishing pipeline is made of carbon steel. Twenty-four samples were selected among all the fire extinguishing pipelines in a building; the selection was based on specimenspositions, pipeline diameters, and pipeline thickness. Analysis was conducted by using the results of visual inspection, electrochemical potentiodynamic anodic polarization test, pitting depth measurements, and extreme value statistics with the Gumbel distribution. The maximum pitting depth and remaining life were statistically predicted using extreme value statistics. During visual inspection, pitting corrosion was observed in several samples. In addition, extreme value statistics demonstrated that there were several pipelines that were very sensitive to pitting corrosion. However, the pitting corrosion was not critical in all the pipelines; thus, it was necessary to change only those pipelines that were severely corroded.

  • In this paper, it is studied that kinematic analysis of a 5-axis ultrasonic inspection equipment. The equipment is comprised of three straight axes and two rotary axes. With features of ultrasonic, the transmitter and receiver of the equipment are vertical to a test surface, operating at regular intervals. To perform this well, the motions of every link should be found on the based of kinematic analysis of the equipment. We chose starting point for testing and defined relations among all links through transformation of coordinates. For double curvature-shaped test object, we generated test paths. To follow these, we found motions of all links using inverse kinematics. By using Matlab/Simulink, simulator was developed, so that we could find out desired trajectories of main axes for a scan.

  • SMT is an equipment that picks up electronic components and does precise placing onto PCBs. In order to do this, it stops in front of a camera installed in the middle to go over vision inspection. And after that it is move for placing. There are 16 different types of routes in this process. This paper presents the fastest algorithm to place (sLa-Camera-pLb) among all these routes. In order to do this, instead of stopping in front of camera the object should move on while going over the vision inspection. Among all possible tracks, this thesis will provide algorithm to find out the fastest tracks to do vision inspection and placing. And as a result, this thesis have demonstrated that this method can save about 16% of time compared to going over inspection while the object is standing still through simulation.

  • Bridges are an integral part of Transportation that is always open to traffic.To effectively manage bridges today, more needs to be done to assess the day-to-day condition and behavior of bridges, and the deterioration rates of their components, so that efficient and proactive measures can be taken. Conventional methods consumemore time and they lack flexibility to reach all locations in high convoluted structures which most bridges offer. Instead, this work uses a new concept of robot, termed as Bridge inspecting robot, which, as its name suggests, possesses superior ability to flex, reach, and approach all points on the bridge. This study also provides economical feasibility model for the same and a comparison with existing bridge inspection and automated inspection work. Finally, we have uncovered few issues and did not analyze some information because of limitation to data.
