하이패션에 나타난 고딕 시크 (Gothic Chic in High Fashion)

  • As style is the center of subcultural identity and the clothes and adornments are the most visible symbol of its membership, the style of Goth symbolizes the strong subcultural identity and acts as the practical basis to demonstrate commitment to the subculture. In the turn of the third millennium, fashion designers have drawn upon and extracted elements from many subcultures to use in their collections. High fashion designers have introduced the Goth style since its inception in the 1980s. The energy and authenticity of Goth has been considered to be desirable in high fashion. The aesthetic property of Goth subcultural style defeats the established notion of standardized fashion and stimulates new consciousness, which makes room for diversification and subdivision. This study attempts to forecast the trends of the 21st century via researching the diffusion of Goth style in high fashion. In order to investigate the aesthetics and styles of Gothic chic, along with literature research, this study investigates the fashion collections from the late 1990s to 2000s as well as the images of street fashion magazines.

  • 필자는 인문학과 과학의 교차점을 찾아 중첩하는 에너지를 현대시에 관철시키고 용합적 에너지를 도출하여 감히 인간 삶에 도움을 주고자 한다. 그 조그만 일임을 감당하기 위해서 현대적 감각을 가진 현대시로써 정보기술과 결탁하고 인간관계의 상관성에 합당한 '소통과 유희'를 누리고자 한다. 이 말은 곧 즐거운 인생을 살자는 의미다. 특히 유희란 바람직한 인간상을 위시하여 행복한 삶을 살 수 있는 장이라고 여긴다. 여기에는 조건적 매개가 필요한데 그것은 '진정한 자유와 참된 행복'이다. 이 두 가지가 선한 양심적 인간성의 특질에서 기인한다면 필자가 주창한 인문학적 영역인 '정보기술과 현대시와의 만남'에서 결국 '소통과 유희'를 도출할 수 있을 것이라고 전망한다.

An upcycling project in textile and fashion design

  • The mass production after the industrialisation and the fast changing fashion cycles in today's world resulted in buying clothes and home textiles more than we need and discarding them before they complete their life cycles. This causes vast amounts of textile waste that creates environmental issues. Upcycling is the creative process of transforming clothing and textile waste by reusing deadstock or used fabric to create new garments and products. It holds importance in terms of sustainability, reducing waste and environmental pollution. During the process of upcycling, certainly the creativity and innovation are the key words because to reuse a product to a better value needs a creative mind, aesthetic consciousness, innovative look and knowledge and it is quite different from a normal design procedure. There is a delicate level of aesthetics which carries the reused materials to a higher value. The handling of the materials, knowing how to manipulate the waste material, the techniques available to apply to surfaces, the concept of two and three dimension on textiles and clothing, contributions of other branches of art such as sculpture and painting all help the designer to reach a higher aesthetic value in the upcycled product in this process. In the study; it was aimed to raise awareness, to attract attention to sustainable fashion and also to contribute to sustainable development as an upcycling design project realized with students in textile and fashion design education taken as an example.

조선조(朝鮮朝) 시조(時調)의 미적주체(美的主體)와 그 존재양상(存在樣相) (The Centra of the aesthetics and the aspect of existence of the Sijo in the Choseon Dynasty)

  • 이 글은 조선조 문인들이 무엇을 미적 자질로 생각하고, 그 미를 인식하는 주체는 어떤 심리의 발용을 요구했는가를 규명하는데 목적을 두었다. 또한 인간의 미적 감관(感官)을 어떻게 인식하고 정의하고 있는가의 고찰도 함께 하였다. 조선조 문인들이 내세운 미적 주체는 사물의 외형에 집착하는 오관의 감각 기관으로 감수하기보다는 허정(虛靜)한 심리(心理)의 발용(發用)을 중시했다. 오관에 의한 사물의 감수(感受)는 형사(形似)에 집착되어 관능적 향락적 서정이 되거나, 이정탕심(移情蕩心)을 일으키는 정서로 인식했기 때문이다. 허정한 심리는 본연의 심성(心性)을 회복하는 심리작용으로 인식하고 이 마음을 시정신과 접맥시켜 미적 주체로 삼는다. 동시에 사물 인식의 객관적 주체로 삼고 사물 또한 객관적 존재로 이해하여 물아일체를 이룸을 목적으로 한다. 곧 이물관물(以物觀物)인데 미적 주체는 감정을 함부로 방일(放逸)하거나 인위(人爲)로서 사물에 감정이입을 해서도 안 된다. 방일과 감정이입은 역물적(役物的) 외물(外物) 인식(認識)으로 극복된다. 이물관물과 역물적 인식에서 오는 정감을 형상화하기 위해 '흥(興)'을 시가의 표현 방법으로 중시하였다. 흥은 현재 눈 앞에서 전개되는 사물과의 만남에서 생성되며 직관적인 감정이다. 홍은 즉물생정(卽物生情)에서 온 감정이자, 또한 표현방식이다. 허정한 심리 작용에서 오는 미적 주체는 성리학적 입장에서 이해된 심성이자 시정신과 접맥된 것이기 때문에 흥체(興體)의 작품은 감상자로 하여금 심성 함양에 일조가 되는, 마음에 정화작용(淨化作用)을 일으키는 효용성을 지닌다. 동시에 인간 정신에 대한 감발 승화작용(感發 昇華作用)을 총체적으로 일으키게 한다.에 접근하는 학문적 태도에 대한 메타교육 등 다양한 메타교육적인 방법을 보여주었기에 퇴계의 작품과 삶이 지대한 교육적 가치를 오늘날까지도 지니게 된다.입고)와 관련된 다양한 문헌자료의 전승은 해당 시조 뿐 아니라 시조문학의 수용과 전승양상을 보여주는 자료로서의 중요한 의미를 갖는다고 할 수 있다플래쉬>고정식>스크롤 방식 순으로 나타나 전체의 결과를 종합하여 볼 때 플래쉬 방식의 성능이 우수함을 알 수 있었다.장 많았고 약 $88.9\%$가 동반정신장애를 가지고 있었으며 CD가 가장 많았다.구 결과와 유사한 결과이다.고 사료된다. 6. 치료전에는 차이가 없던 남,여군 사이에 치료후에 차이가 나타나는 것은 치료 효과에 관계없이 남여에 따른 성장양상의 차이가 그대로 표현된 것으로 사료된다. 연구는 거대 편도를 가진 기능성 III급 부정 교합자의 구개 편도 절제술 전후의 인두강, 설골, 두부 위치의 변화 양상에 대해 알아보기 위해 단국 대학교 부속 치과 병원 교정과에 내원한 남녀 환자 42명을 대상으로 연구하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. $55.19\%$로 첨가량이 증가하면서 두 항목 모두 크게 감소하는 결과를 보였다. 색도를 분석한 결과 L값, a값, b값 모두 표고버섯 분말 함량이 증가하면서 감소하였고, 모든 처리구에서 기존 무첨가구와 극히 현저한 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 시료별 관능검사 결과에서 색 (color), 먹을때의 느낌 (chewiness)과 단맛(sweetness)의 경우 무첨가구와 모든 처리구가 유의적인 차이를 보였으며, 향미 (flavor)와 전반적인 기호도(overall acceptability)에서 당화액과 추출액의

현대 패션에 표현된 숭고미에 관한 연구 - 1990년 이후부터 현재까지의 패션을 중심으로 - (The Sublime in Contemporary Fashion - Focused on the Fashion from the Early 90's -)

  • In postmodernism, the sublime that reaches ecstasy overcoming terror or pain is described as the most expressive phenomenon. The purpose of this study is to understand the sublime expressed in contemporary fashion. for this purpose, 1 investigated the theories of the sublime, categorized the definition and modes, then applied those categories for contemporary fashion. Documentary studies were conducted through aesthetic, design and fashion books and the demonstrative studies were processed by analyzing photos from fashion magazines. In the history of aesthetics, the sublime is explained as the ambivalent feeling mixed with pain and pleasure, terror and delight or negation and affirmation. In this study, the sublime could be defined as the aesthetic pleasure through the transcendence of the pain and terror and classified into 3 categories, the tragic, the initiative, and the deconstructive. The tragic sublime that includes the terrific, the disgusting and the religious character is expressed through the image of death or the physical torture, the satanic image or disgusting object and the ascetic image and religious sign or icons. The limitless sublime that includes the giant and the dynamic character is accomplished by consist of the elongation or the enlargement and the powerful authority. The deconsturctive sublime that includes the negative, the indeterminate and the complex character is associated with the deconstruction in style, the reversal of image and the destruction of the space of the body. Analysis on the sublime expressed in contemporary fashion may provide an excellent way for understanding human aesthetic consciousness in dress.

액상화 레드머드의 첨가량에 따른 시멘트 모르타르의 강도특성 및 색차 분석 (Strength Characteristic and Color Difference Analysis of Cement Mortar According to the Amount of Liquefied Red Mud)

  • 건설분야에서는 구조적 안정성과 더불어 생활수준과 의식수준의 향상으로 미관에 대한 새로운 요구가 증대되고 있다. 한편 보크사이트로(Bauxite)부터 수산화알루미늄 추출공정에서 발생되는 레드머드 슬러지는 $Fe_2O_3$를 약 20% 함유하고 있어 자연스런 천연 황토색을 나타내며 건설산업분야에 활용 가능성이 높다. 본 논문에서는 산업부산물인 함수율 50%의 레드머드 슬러지를 액상으로 제조하여, 제조된 액상화 레드머드를 시멘트 모르타르에 첨가하여 액상화 레드머드의 첨가량에 따른 시멘트 모르타르의 강도 및 색차를 검토하였다. 그 결과 액상화 레드머드 첨가량이 증가할수록 압축강도는 증가하였으며 액상화 레드머드를 첨가한 시멘트 모르타르는의 색채는 모든 시험체에서 YR계열의 범위에 분포하는 것으로 나타나며 액상화 레드머드 첨가량이 증가할수록 색채는 뚜렷해지는 경향을 나타내었다.

공동주택단지 외부공간 유형별 야간 빛 환경에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Night Lighting Environment by Outdoor Space Types of an Apartment Complex)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify current condition of night lighting plan for the outdoor space in an apartment complex and to examine how residents perceive that environment. For this purpose, considerations and standards for safe and agreeable night lighting environment were examined through literature study. And a field study to determine the current state of the night lighting environment was conducted, and finally a survey was executed to find out residents' satisfaction, requirements and consciousness on that lighting environment of apartment complex. Findings of this study can be summarized as follows. Firstly, most standards for night lighting environment focus on the urban environment as a whole, so they have very few clear standards exclusive for the outdoor space of the apartment complex. Secondly, most of outdoor spaces surveyed in this study have met the basic illumination standard, but some spaces had parts where lights were off or out of order forming dark zones, and in some parts lights were screened by trees causing shades, poor safety and a narrowed sight. Thirdly, residents had interest in the night lighting environment of the outdoor space, but they were not fully satisfied with that environment. Fourthly, residents were negative about such factors of the environment as safety, convenience, recognition and aesthetics. These factors should be reflected in planning and improving the night lighting. It is expected that this study provides basic information necessary to plan safer and more agreeable night lighting, and to satisfy the residents' need for liveable apartment complex.

한국 전통복식미의 현대적 활용 (Adapting Korean Traditional Beauty to Contemporary Fashion Design)

  • The aesthetic of traditional Korean costume has been used as one of the design themes in the field of Korean contemporary fashion design for western style clothing. Using the Korean aesthetic comes from the idea that such ethnic beauty could gain an international reputation. The beauty of the Korean costume is rooted in the particular aesthetic consciousness of the Korean people : the aesthetics of nature, personality, the evil's eye. and tradition. From an artistic viewpoint, the formative elements are analyzed into the following categories: form including line and shape, color, pattern, materials and ornaments. The aesthetic elements of the costume are transformed into present fashion design through the formative elements of the fashion ; form including line, color, pattern, materials and ornamentation. To express Korean atmosphere, adapting traditional elements such as, needle cases, hinges of furnitures, closing function of big gate are active, As a conclusion, the actual fashion design of adapting Korean beauty are so confined to the original form of Korean Dress that the results of design are tend towards ethnocentric atmosphere. Therefore, to understand and express traditional Korean beauty in contemporary fashion design, one has to keep in mind the aesthetic of the traditional Korean costume. Then one must develop and pursue one's own methods of adapting Korean beauty. The sophistication and refinement of fashion design could be accomplished only through the deep appreciation of the Korean culture. The second, the sense of International perspective is needed to be understanded and obtaining public sympathy from an international society. The third, Critics and scholars are the most concerned with promoting Korean fashion at an international level. Korean fashion at an international level. Korean fashion design will only mature with the support of scholars and the theoretical understanding they bring with them. The last, public support including government level is needed to enhence the standand of Korea fashion today.

일본 아방가르드 패션의 미학 -몸의 평면화를 중심으로- (Aesthetics of Japanese Avant-garde Fashion -Focusing on Planarization of the Body-)

  • Clothes and human body are inseparably related. Aesthetic consciousness of the body determines the form of clothing, reflecting the time and culture as well as the individual and society. Clothes can even reorganize the meaning of the body, while transcending their instrumental functions of protecting, expanding and deforming the body. Using 'body' to analyze the clothing form, my study develops a framework by which to classify the planarization of the body in Japanese avant-garde fashion. In order to inquire the formative style and aesthetic values expressed in Japanese avant-garde fashion, my study examines subjects from the discourse on the body to the fashion collections of the 20th and 21st century. The results of the study are as follows. Japanese avant-garde fashion focuses on a planarization of the body which questions the three dimensional construction of the body in more conventional clothing system. Un-structured, variable space posited between the body and clothes, participation of the wearer, attention to recent technology and material, and absence of gender identification characterizes the planarization of the body in Japanese avant-garde fashion. The absence of body in fashion stresses a will-to-form rather than mere bodily proportion and structure, which explores trans-extensity that goes beyond the boundary of the body Ultimately, planarization of the body betrays the correspondence between signifiant and signifie in sartorial convention. Aesthetic ideal of the body is visualized in the form of a dress. Some clothes prioritize the body, particularly the feminine bodily curves, while others focus on the clothing itself as abstract and sculptural forms. Fashion continues to explore forms and images that transcend the traditional representations of the clothed body. As a type of intimate architecture, fashion always mediates the dialogue between clothes and body, or fashion and figure. My study suggests a framework to analyze bodily representation in Japanese avant-garde fashion, focusing on the relationship between the clothes and body.

무대 의상에 나타난 블랙의 미적 특성 - 뮤지컬 '시카고'를 중심으로 - (The Study on the Aesthetic Characteristics in Black Shown in Stage Costume - Focused on Musical 'Chicago' -)

  • This study examined that the black dress is the one of having aesthetic value as well as symbolism while delivering specific image, from the perspective of color, which is essential element in forming design of the Stage Costume. This study carried out the theoretical research of centering on the literature consideration and the empirical research of centering on a case side by side. It analyzed the works and design based on the clothing, which had been performed in Korea with a revival version of Musical 'Chicago'. Aesthetic characteristics in more than two are being shown in one dress. If so, the following are the results that considered on aesthetics characteristics in black, which were shown in Stage Costume of Musical 'Chicago', which is increasing the theme consciousness through Stage Costume, which is simple and sexy black. First, as emotion of coming to stay in agony and sadness on the basic fact called death, the Stage Costume in black led to being shown sorrow of implying death, fear and murder. Second, the dignity, which corresponds to noble beauty in the aesthetic category, expresses dignity and elegance with flat material in black, and is revealed the aspect of expressing fashion, which emphasized spirit rather than body. Third, as the aesthetic characteristic of causing sexual desire, the sensuality was shown, which has the aspect of being expressed through exposure, concealment and emphasis. Fourth, it was expressed with androgyny, which evokes androgynous image. Fifth, black in Musical 'Chicago' formed the whole mood with a sense of weight by arranging the whole feeling with color in similar tone, thereby having been indicated the harmony of being formed with theme, which is aimed to be indicated in drama.
