This study focuses on the sportism expressed in the modern fashion. Many factors attribute to the advent of sportism such as rapid development and cultural changes toward sports, increase in leisure time, new fashion materials resulting from new technologies, youth culture and postmodernism. Designers gazing into the future are inspired by the details and functionality of clothing for snow boarding, skiing, rock-climbing and fitness. While the sportswear is the term whith stemmed from the need for functionally in sports, the Sportism is the style inspired by the formative elements, that is, the details, the silhouette, and the colors of the sportswear. New technologies for sports, the powerful influence of youthful culture, and the celebritizations of the sports stars made the sports look more popular. It can be categorized into three aesthetic values, i.e., the functional sportism, the street sportism, and the futuristic sportism. The functional sportism is expressed with the details of function, simplicity, and no useless ornament, the street sportism with fun, androgynous and unisex mode and the image of hip-hop look and traditional look, the futuristic sportism with new high tech fabrics and cyber style. The characters of these are a sence of unisex, sensualness, ostentation, renovation.

In this thesis the northeast Asian footwear culture are examined,. in order to search the origin It started from the cradle of ancient civilization such as Meospotamia Egypt Indus and ancient China civilization region prior to the northeast Asia. The results are: On account severe intense climates and rough road as well ancient people starts to put the shoes on. Primitive form of ancient footwear put into the two categories: Chinese in the central land begins to put the shoes named Lee. After making contact with nomadic northern races boots named Wha is adopted functionally and taken throughout China. oreans wear the shoes both boots and shoes named Lee. Japanese walked with bare feet and simul-taneously Dagetta was used for rice farming. The changes of footwear is mainly in-fluenced by the factors such as climate con-dition social economic prohibition func-tional elements and aesthetic standards. Cli-mate conditions have influence upon the footwear materials form and foot exposure, The functional elements influenced on the ways of wearing shoes. Decorated patterns and materials of footwear is under the influnece of social economic prohibition and also affected by aesthetic standards(Tab 1-4) In accordance with pattern function materials of footwear the type and characteristics of footwear in China Korea nd japan came out with diversity(Tab 5-9)

In estimating designed architectural buildings, many factors in various design domains such as function, structure, form, environment may be considered and then a building design might be selected or modified as final design. This paper proposed a method to obtain complexity values from two dimensional drawings which are floor plans or elevations. The method has been developed based on information theory, shape pattern representation and cognitive theory. Results of measuring complexity value can make the computer evaluate and select final results produced from automatic design processes by the computer That is to say, aesthetic values based on order and chaos can be measured using complexity values and then some results having superior values can be selected as final result.

This paper is a study of "poetry therapy", a subject now in lively in literary discussion circles. Modern literary text attaches great importance to the readers' response. As such, there is growing interest in the effects of communication brought on by the interaction of participants in a discourse. Poetry, in essence, has therapeutic attributes of treating, through an aesthetic psychology, destruction resulting from the alienation from life and psychological pain of distortion. The rise of the concept of eco-poetry and the capacity for psychological cleansing and adjustment (which restores balance through communication and psychological circulation) is a reflection of new trend in research - approaching the alienation felt by modern people through restoration of sense of life. Although Kim Hyun-seung's life and the road his poetry took was not smooth, he nevertheless was firm in his sustained effort to unify socio-ethical conscience and conscience of faith through the process of spiritual inquiry. The most outstanding aspects of Kim Hyun-seung's aesthetic achievement lie in his contribution toward the therapeutic capacity of modern poetry. Kim Hyun-seung's poetryhas the following effects: 1)The therapeutic capacity of modern poetry, through catharsis at large, does not remain only at the level of cleansing and adjustment. 2)The therapeutic capacity of modern poetry has the function of emptying out the self through more fundamental spiritual awakening and insight. 3)Only then can one truly realize the transcendence of being a true self as well as the balanced inquiry of spirituality which can be described as "emptying out".

The purpose of this study is the improvement of the senior patients' life quality by providing aesthetic and emotional stability by creating and providing a newly designed patient wear for them. Empirical research and analysis were done for the research. Survey from advanced research and clothing design for the senior citizens in Japan and German are analyzed. The result of this research extracted characteristics, which applied to the production of a severe senior patient wear. And the following characteristics emerged: affordability, comfort, aesthetics, and ease of putting on the clothes. To meet these conditions by the details of the clothing design, using fasteners like zippers and Velcro is useful. It is able to solve the problem of affordability making the vertically integrated overalls to be able being separated by zippers in order to reduce the volume of laundry. It was able to overcome the discomfort due to contamination of the feces through the use of the fasteners even though the importance of choosing the comfort material related closely to the comfort. Using material mixed with multiple colors, plaid or bright pink, instead of using neutral colors fulfilled the aesthetic requirement. In Particular, utilizing detachable function fasteners contributed great services.

Currently, the nature and ecosystem's destruction by human beings and science is appearing as a serious problem. The possibility of ecological aesthetics is being sought as one of operations for new society in the contemporary society that the nature and ecosystem are getting attention, The present research aims to examine the characteristics and its expression method by setting the ecological aesthetics as an alternative of the future design. The history, meaning, mental image and image of Korean traditional Space forming the balance and harmony with the Nature, etc., which are important design concepts, were deduced as the beauty of emptiness, the beauty of a gap, the beauty of harmony and the beauty of changing and the beauty of simplicity as characteristics of experiencing space. If the deduced expression is examined through a case analysis of traditional housing, the characteristics trying to unite with the Nature while seeing ecology and aesthetics as one root, which the ecological aesthetics regarding as a root. The ecological arts based on the ecological aesthetics enters inside the universal life of human beings by examining the ecological and aesthetic characteristics appearing in Korean traditional Space, and the arts will move forward in a direction that its function and role link with maintenance of total ecosystem. The space application possibility and expression characteristics of ecological aesthetics should be continuously researched.

The goal of this research is to find answer 'How much the simplicity/complexity influence expressed functional shapes on products?' and 'What is relationship between simplicity/complexity and consumer preference?' This is process that first we make categorize products by analysis, and second we analyze each category group for fading propensity from consumers, and finally we verify through design process.

There are practicality, ornamentality and symbolic in a folding fan among Western accessories, and that is a little tool to enhance the overall harmony of a dress. The purpose of this study was to examine Western folding fans in an effort to shed light on the history, culture, fashion and life of different ages in which folding fans had been used. It's specifically meant to look into the mentality of people who had used folding fans. The meaning and function of folding fans were investigated, and their diverse types and characteristics were analyzed. As a result, it's found that in the West, a folding fan was one of major accessories that had an inseparable relation to popular clothes in each age and were necessary for a perfect coordination. Folding fans had been used as ornaments for Western noble women since the 16th century. After a certain period of time passed by, the 18th century became the heyday of folding fans. At that time, folding fans were one of aesthetic art works that even served as a means of mental exchange.

The purposes of this study are to identify quality factors of knitwears, to find out important attributes of knitwears quality, and to find attributes of knitwears quality which improvement are required. College students in the Seoul district participated in the study, a convenience sampling method was used. A questionnaires was arranged with three separates subject sections, importance degree of knitwears quality, satisfaction degree of purchased knitwears, and demographic factors. Data from 280 questionnaires were used for the statistical analysis. For data analysis, factor analysis, paired-samples t-test and multiple response frequency were conducted. The results were as follows. Knitwears quality factors were classified into six subdivisions by factor analysis; physical functions, yarn and fabric properties, fit, symbol, aesthetic, and usefulness. Quality attributes in purchasing knitwears were considered importantly in order of design, textures, color, price, size, and shape stability, etc. Among quality attributes on knitwears, there were significant differences in importance degree and satisfaction degree; important degree was higher than satisfaction degree to six factors on knitwears quality. Especially, in graph according to gap analysis, physical function and symbol were included in IV area, attributes that attention, required of quality improvement. In contrast, yarn and fabric properties, fit, aesthetic, and usefulness were included in I area, strengths, maintained presently quality levels.

Purpose: We experienced a patient with posttraumatic duplication of the sternoclavicular joint causing a protruding deformity, whose major complaint was aesthetic. The patients history, radiologic findings, and surgical treatment are reported. Methods: A 41-year-old bus driver complained a bony prominence at the left medial clavicle, which had developed after a fracture. The patient was annoyed by the protrusion, which was even visible, when he was wearing a pullover. A three dimensional CT scan showed that the medial head was split into two portions, of which the anterior portion was protruding. In general anesthesia the anterior portion of the medial head was excised. Results: The bony prominence was corrected successfully. Follow up three dimensional CT scans showed that the anterior cortex of the clavicle had regenerated completely at the resection line one year after the operation. Conclusion: Surgical interventions for complications after clavicular fracture are usually carried out, only if there is a limitation of function or if it is painful. We report of a patient with posttraumatic bifurcation of the medial clavicular head, most probably caused by malunion. Upon the patient's request, the deformity causing protrusion of the medial clavicular area was successfully resected for cosmetic reasons.
