  • In this research work, an algorithm development on tracking end-point of aerial work platform with jib profile and bend-linked boom was carried out to find the X, Y and Z direction value using coordinate transformation matrix. This matrix consists of device status value(length and angle) based on camera position axis, which are sent from device controller PLUS+1 by CAN protocol. These values are used to measure the distance and angle from the camera to the end-point. Using these distance and angle value, monitoring system controls FAN/TILT/ZOOM status of camera to get an adequate scene of workplace. This program was written in Java, C# and C for mobile device. These results provide the information to the aerial work device for secure operation.

UAV of the existing military-driven logistics delivery, aerial photography, wireless Internet connection, broadcasting, disaster research, digital maps, transportation, advertising, meteorological, border surveillance, agricultural use, such as hobbies range of uses from up military are diverse and growing. The advantage of delivery drones seems to be an important feature of delivery of the goods, including labor-saving, long-distance transportation in cold weather. UAV is demanded by competitive performance development for commercialization. Privacy issues that may arise during the drone operation, ensuring marketability issues, control system, regulations, operational standards and specifications, etc. should be addressed. • Volatile constituents obtained by water distillation from the aerial parts and root of Onosma dichroanthum Boiss (Boraginaceae) native to the north of Iran were investigated by GC and GC/MS for the first time. Palmitic acid (39.61%) and decane (31.39%) were the major components in the root while decane (26.26%) and phytol (25.52%) were the predominant constituents in the aerial parts. Ketones, aldehydes, alkanes, fatty acids, oxygenated diterpenes and sesquiterpenes were characterized as the most phytochemicals in the aerial parts. Alkanes and fatty acids were identified as the main groups in the root volatile substances. There were two ketone derivatives, belong to apocarotenoids, in the aerial parts; β-ionone and hexahydrofarnesyl acetone.

  • In this study we attempted to estimate damage scope such as bridges destruction, farmland deformation, forest damage, etc occurred by typhoon using two digital aerial images for future high-resolution Kompsat-3 applications. The process procedures are followings: First, image registration between time-different aerial images was implemented. In this process one image was geometrically corrected by image-to-image registration. Second, image classification was done according to 4 classes. Finally through the comparison of classified two images the area of damage by flood and storm was approximately calculated. These results showed that it is possible to estimate the damage scale relatively rapidly using high-resolution images.

  • This study is to trace the change of stream shape using the past series of aerial photographs and compare the land use changes of inland along the stream. For the Gyeong-an national stream, aerial photographs of 1966, 1981 and 2000 was selected and ortho photograph was made with RMSE of 1.05, 0.54, 0.72 pixels, respectively. As apparent changes of the stream, the consolidated reaches of stream with levee construction were straightened and their stream width widened. Especially the stream width of inlet part of Paldang lake was widened almost twice because of the rise of water level by dam construction in 1974.

  • Recently various thematic maps and image maps using aerial photograph and satellite imagery are frequently made. The geo-referencing is essential to make image map and topographic map using aerial photograph and satellite imagery. For this geo-referencing, Ground Control Points (GCPs) are needed. In this paper, we used GPS relative positioning to measure GCP ground coordinate and the accuracy of 8cm level was achieved. We made GCP image chips for the efficiency of geo-referencing and carried out the bundle adjustment of aerial photographs using GCP image chips to acquire the GCP photo coordinate with image matching technique. Finally we analyzed the accuracy of bundle adjustment compared to the accuracy of the case in using digital maps to acquire GCP photo coordinate.

  • Precise geometric registration is required in multi-source data fusion process to obtain synergistic results successfully. However, most of the previous studies focus on the assumption of perfect registration or registration in a limited local area with intuitively derived simple geometric model. In this study, therefore, we developed a robust method for geometric registration based on a systematic model that is derived from the geometry associated with the data acquisition processes. The key concept of the proposed approach is to utilize smooth planar patches extracted from LIDAR data as control surfaces to adjust exterior orientation parameters of the aerial images. Registration of the simulated LIDAR data and aerial images was performed. The experimental results show that the RMS value of the geometric discrepancies between two data sets is decreased to less than ${\pm}0.30\;m$ after applying suggested registration method.

  • The study aims to propose a method that shall rapidly acquire 3D spatial information of the frequently changing city areas by using the low altitude aerial images taken by the UAV. The artificial 3D model of the artificial structures was constructed using the aerial image data photographed at the test area, calibration data of the non-metric camera and the results of the ground control point survey. Also, the digital surface model was created for areas that were changed due to a number of civil works. Through the above studies, the possibilities of constructing a 3D virtual city model, renewal of 3D GIS database, abstraction of changed information in geographic features and on-demand updating of the digital map were suggested.

  • Three different methods were employed to measure the degree of aerial oxidation in coal and the resulting oxidation/weathering indices were applied to obtain kinetic parameters of aerial oxidation processes, The index (i.e., slurry pH, Free Swelling Index, weight gain) values were subjected to kinetic analysis based on power-law Arrhenius type reaction model. The results show that activation energy of the aerial oxidation in 20-29$0^{\circ}C$ is in the range of 12-16 ㎉/㏖ and the agreement among three techniques is remarkable. The first order kinetic model is suitable in describing low temperature aerial oxidation process, except in the FSI case where the zero order expression is the best one.

  • We have conducted the study of distribution and inhabitation of the aerial algae from five stone cultural properties located in Gyeonggi-do. A total of 21 taxa were identified, among which 8 taxa of cyanophytes, 12 taxa of cholorophytes and one diatom species. Protococcus viridis, Ulothrix zonata, Synechocystis aquatilis and Chroococcus varius occurred in 15, 9, 8 and 7 study sites, respectively. These coccoid types appeared more frequently than filamentous types. In this study, Chlorococcum infusionum, Cylindrocystis gracilis, Klebsormidium crenulatum, Klebsormidium dissectum and Klebsormidium flaccidium newly recorded from Korea. We found that 80% of stone cultural properties had aerial algae and their 58-84% were grouped into Class 5 based on chlorophyll-a concentration.
