Factors affecting the VOD advertising in IPTV: Focus on Program and Ad location factors (IPTV VOD 광고효과에 영향을 미치는 요인: 프로그램과 게재위치 요인을 중심으로)

  • This study was done to find out what is a factors affecting VOD advertising in IPTV. To this end, the location form of the Pre-play and program insert ad in IPTV was prepared to compare the test stimuli. And the experiment was conducted. The results were as follows. First, attention to ad and commitment of program had a significant impact on VOD advertising attitude. On the other hand, the program viewing satisfaction had no significant effect. Second, the attention to ads had a significant effect on the purchase intention on advertised products in VOD. Third, attitudes to ad and purchase intention between the Pre-Play and program insert ads positions, did not have a significant difference. Accordingly, it concludes that current Pre-play advertising strategy is effective. It is also expected to help establish a strategy that is able to effectively show VOD ads in IPTV to consumers in the future.

  • For the success of the DMB market to meet consumers' demands for Ubiquitous Media and strengthen the nation's competitiveness, it's inevitable for us to activate DMB advertising as of main profit source for DMB Media, and to develop various types of DMB advertising which are linked to the profit model. So I'd like to look over the various types of DMB advertising which are suitable for DMB features as one of the efforts to activate DMB advertising. First of all, I've figured out what kinds of advertising are available for new media and which related technologies are required for DMB media. Through this research, I could find out what features of new media such as cable broadcasting, Internet and Mobile have become the source of developing various types of advertising and how to a great part to activate new media advertising markets by making the best use of their media features. This research also shows that DMB advertising has the high potential to be developed in various and effective types and kinds of advertising with its media feature and technological feature. This research observing DMB advertising cases showed that DMB advertising can be divided into 6 types such as forms, purposes, techniques, advertising positions, the use of LBS(Location Based Service), coupons and it could be developed into various kinds of DMB advertising dependent on each type. On the other hands, it would be great to have continual researches and follow-ups for various types of DMB advertising and the verification of the effectiveness for DMB advertising by performing potential DMB advertising.

Agglomeration Patterns of Advertising Industries and Spatial Networks of Advertisement Production (광고산업의 집적 특성과 광고제작의 공간적 네트워크)

  • The aim of this study is to examine agglomeration patterns of advertising industries and spatial networks of advertisement production in Korea. The focus of analysis is the agglomeration pattern of advertising industries within Seoul because these are agglomerated in Seoul like other business services. Analysis methods are local Moran's I index and location quotient with the regional percentages of each sector's number of employees. Clusters in Gangnam Area are related to start-up advertising firms and global agencies entering domestic advertising markets. Network analysis is used to investigate the spatial networks of TV advertisement production between advertising agencies(AA) and film productions(FP). After transformation of AA-FP network matrix to regional matrix centrality index and brokerage scores are calculated. This analysis shows individual region's different role and position in the AA-FP network. Many agencies in or out of Gangnam Area outsource most advertisement makings to film productions in Gangnam Area. Advertising industry dusters in Gangnam Area is important as of the destination of advertisement production networks and the circulation of those networks.

A Study of Attendance Management System using Beacon and BLE Advertisement Function

  • In this paper, we propose an electronic attendance management system using the bluetooth function of the beacon and BLE advertising function of the smart phone. In the beacon-only bluetooth attendance confirmation system, it is needed more than one beacons according to the class room sizes. A BLE advertising function based attendance confirmation system can not provide the information about the location of the attendances. In the proposed system, we can identify the location of the instructor using the beacon of the class room, and confirm the attendances by checking the position of the attendances's smart phone. In this system, we can achieves the goals of electronic attendance management system using only one beacon per a class room.

  • In this paper we present the combination of location based mobile advertisement services and dynamic digital signage markets has been developing recent days to provide consumer admired visual mobile advertisement on all kind transportation vehicles. In spite of that, the digital signage advertisement content management is still not that easy to manage the content dynamically as well operation is most time consuming to handle the contents dynamically in digital signage business. As location based services is most impactful service in shopping, the location responsive advertisement on vehicle signage will be most desirable mobile advertisement to help people migrate from one place to another place for travel or stay. This paper propose a mobile location responsive digital signage system for vehicles using the GPS and wireless infrastructure integrated with digital signage system. This proposed research use the centralized digital signage system architecture for the mobile advertisement application and this system can be expanded to different vehicles for digital advertisement including buses, trucks, train, air vehicle and any other form of mobile advertising vehicles. Also, this present an effective advertisement recommendation algorithm, by which the advertisement can be selected broadcasted for the right advertisement ventures more effectively as the service requested from advertiser. This paper present the emulated experimental result to evidence the proposed dynamic vehicle signage system performed better than compared with traditional signage random advertising. The emulated result proves that the advertisement recommendation algorithm can effectively works out the targeted key audiences in location responsive region the algorithm evaluated.

The Effect Service and Individual Characteristics on Usage Intention of Location-Based Advertising : Focused on the Moderating Effects of Gender (서비스 특성과 개인적 특성이 위치기반광고의 이용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 성별의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing usage intention of Location-Based Advertising (LBA) and moderating effects of gender. This model tests various theoretical research hypotheses relating to LBA, service and individual characteristics, and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The target population of this study was LBA users. The results of hypothesis testing are as follows. First, personalization and ubiquity positively influence attitudes toward LBA and irritation negatively influence attitudes toward LBA. Second, coupon proneness and flow experience positively influence attitudes toward LBA. Finally, personalization and ubiquity to attitudes toward LBA for females are significantly larger than those for males. And coupon proneness and flow experience to attitude for males are significantly larger than those for females. The results of this study will provide various implications to improve usage intention of LBA.

  • This paper presents a reliable multicast transmission for the advertising-supported Access Point in which a user can use a wireless network access service through receiving the advertisement. In this paper we propose a application-layer multicast protocol that controls a transmission rate of the mobile device for the reliable multicast in wireless LAN environment. Internet advertising includes all means and medias for advertising on the Internet in order to raise sales or popularity of the products or services. Since the current Internet advertising systems are passive, the target systems are exposed to unspecified persons and its exposure rates of the advertisement are changeable and unpredictable. In this paper, we propose an Internet advertising system, with which users can access the wireless Internet without charge, advertisers can provide customized advertisement according to location, time, and categories of users, and owners of network infrastructure can manage the system with a low cost.

A Study on the Localization and Efficiency in Chinese Advertising Industry (중국 광고산업의 지역화와 효율성 분석)

  • China's advertising industry has rapidly increased owing to economic growth and big market size. This paper covers the localization and relative efficiency in the Chinese advertising industry. To analyze localization level and efficiency of advertising industry, this paper uses Location Quotient(LQ) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) respectively. According to the results, the first finding shows that the higher regional development level have the relative efficiencies, the higher regional development level also have regional specialization degree. The second finding indicates that Chinese advertising industries are multipolalized region by region. The last finding reveals that advertising industry of middle and west regions has long term development potentiality owing to high specialization degree with low relative efficiencies.

  • Indoor location system has been used Wi-Fi to get a location. After the development of BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy), the interest in the method of a indoor positioning had been move on. It has more advantages than using Wi-Fi. Easy installation, low power consumption, low signal interference and changeable setting(Advertising interval, tx power, etc.). These things can improve efficiency or accuracy in a indoor positioning system. For this reason, recent indoor positioning system uses BLE rather than Wi-Fi. Accordingly, error factors of BLE beacon based indoor positioning should be studying for high accuracy of indoor positioning. In this research, set up few experiment scenarios and keep a close watch on how technological, environmental factor is affecting positioning accuracy. When a application uses largest signal strength to get the indoor location, the mean error of experimental results was decreased compare to using received signal strength in real-time. The result was same when the application applied average and standard deviation to get the indoor location. Changing advertising interval had an effect on the mean error of indoor positioning. Short advertising interval makes the lower mean error than large advertising interval.

Automatic Allocation Technique of Outdoor Advertising in FPS Game (FPS 게임의 시가지 맵에서 옥외광고 자동 배치 기법)

  • Outdoor ads such as billboards, banners or posters frequently appears in street maps of FPS games. In this paper, we propose a method for the automatic placement of outdoor advertising in the city area of FPS games. Outdoor ads are from real world products or enterprises and they are managed in a server computer. If the ads data are updated, the advertisements are automatically placed again without modifying source codes. When placing ads, we utilize the real world location of the game player regarding commercial spheres of ads and service types of real world shops. We evaluate priority scores for the available ads based on the collected real world properties and higher priority ads are preferentially placed on the map. The proposed ad placement method makes the game players feel affinity for the placed ads and also it increases the advertising effect.
