The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a healing garden program based on internal factors of vocational adaptation on career attitude for college students with developmental disabilities. First, healing garden program was defined by a group of experts related to education for developmental disabilities in the industry and academia through the focus group interview. Second, the healing garden program for college students with developmental disabilities was carried out for 15 weeks. Third, this study examined the effects of healing garden program based on internal factors of vocational adaptation on career attitude for college students with developmental disabilities. The participants of this study were 55 college students with developmental disabilities in N University, with 25 students placed in the experimental group and the other 30 in the control group. As a result of examination, the difference between before and after the program, it was found that factors of career attitude were improved significantly after the program in the experimental group, with Factor 1 (determination) increased from 2.08 to 3.39, Factor 2 (finality) from 2.28 to 3.19, Factor 3 (confidence) from 2.20 to 3.69, Factor 4 (preparation) from 2.12 to 3.79, and Factor 5 (independence) from 1.88 to 3.63. But the control group did not show a significant improvement after 15 weeks of the program except Factor 3 (confidence) and Factor 5 (independence). It was found that the healing garden program based on internal factors of vocational adaptation had effects on career attitude for college students with developmental disabilities. Finally, the program will contribute to vocational rehabilitation for college students with disabilities. The findings further suggest that healing gardening programs that facilitate career attitudes must be continuously developed and applied in order to establish effective transition from school to the world of vocational adaptation.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a breastfeeding empowerment program and to investigate the effects of the breastfeeding empowerment program on self-efficacy, adaptation and continuation of breastfeeding for primiparous women. Methods: The 5 session breastfeeding empowerment program was developed and a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized quasi-experiment design was used. Fifty-five participants were assigned to either the experimental group (n=27) or the control group (n=28). Effects were tested using repeated measures ANOVA and $x^2-test$. Results: Scores for self-efficacy, adaptation and continuation of breastfeeding of in the experimental group after program were significantly higher than 1week, 4weeks, 8weeks scores in control group. Conclusion: The effects of the breastfeeding empowerment program for elevating self-efficacy, adaptation and continuation of breastfeeding in primiparous women were validated. Therefore, this program can be recommended for vigorous use in clinical practice.

With the recent increase in the number of foreign settlers in our country, we need a societal system which they can adapt well in. In order to successfully settle in our society, the marriage immigrants who especially plan a life in a new environment should be supported with support programs, especially to help them adapt to their very basic housing environment as their daily environment. From this research, through a program analysis of multi-cultural family support centre, the societal support helping to adapt to the residential environment for marriage immigrants in each nation was examined, and grasp an understanding on their adaptation to the housing environment by conducting interviews about housing environment adaptation examples. From the result of analyzing the 100 programs of the multi-cultural family support system, it could be seen that for the marriage immigrants to adapt, various programs are needed. In other words, there are effective programs for the early settlement of the marriage immigrants such as Korean education, tradition culture education, provision of district daily information, but it could be seen that heavier education was needed for, than for the sake of the marriage immigrants who took such education. Through adaptation case examples of 8 marriage immigrants from 5 different countries, it was realizable that the housing problems the marriage immigrants go through, are not limited to themselves, but also are related to the safety of their family and adaptation problems with their children. Therefore, by developing an adaptation program to help with housing environmental adaptation, the lives of the marriage immigrants' families will be supported, and will support early settlement, which then basic preparation for human resources as district societal use will be needed. By developing a program with a housing environmental professional, and if there is a positive effect and achievement, it is expected that there will be a standard program system available for all marriage immigrants.
The purpose of this study was to test the emotional intelligence development program and to verify the effects of the emotional intelligence development program for the increase of emotional intelligence and school life adaptation in elementary school students of single parent family To verify the previous hypotheses, 16 children of single parent family(experimental group I : n=8, control group 1 : n=8) and 16 children of two parent family(experimental group II : n=8, control group II : n=8) were selected at random, which are a total of high-grade students from P elementary school in J city, Jeon-buk province. Disposal about experimental group executed the emotional intelligence development program for the humanity education of Moon - yong - lin(1999) and the emotional intelligence development program which was reconstructed guidance for elementary school children of Her - seung - hee (2004) as the level of elementary school for 50 minutes, 16times, twice a week. In order to verify the effects after experiment, 1 collected materials for estimation by providing the subject children with questionaries about emotional intelligence and the ability of school life adaptation before and after the experiment, and then analyzed the average differences in number of marks between the experiment group and the control group before and after the experiment through and by using One-Way ANOVA, and SPSS WIN 12.0 program. The results of the study were as follows : First, there was significant increase between experimental group and control group received the emotional intelligence development program on emotional intelligence in statistic data(p<.01). Second, there was significant increase between experimental group and control group received the emotional intelligence development program on the school life adaptation in statistic data(p<.001). Third, there was no significant difference between the single parent family's children and the two parent family's children of the experimental group received the emotional Intelligence development program on the emotional intelligence and the ability of school life adaptation(p>.05). But single parent family's children were higher significant increase than two parent family's children on the relationship with teacher(<.01). The results obtained in this study indicated that the emotional intelligence development program was effective on the emotional intelligence and the ability of school life adaptation. Also, these showed that this program helps the school life adaptation and positive relationship with teacher of single parent family's children.

This study developed the prevention education program of smartphone overuse for adolescents in middle school and testified its outcome. Finally the 4-session prevention education program for smartphone overuse was developed. 1st session was composed of psychoeducation about smartphone overuse and its side effect by quiz question. 2nd session smartphone addiction and brain change, 3rd session motivational enhancement program for smartphone overuse, 4th session cognitive behavioral program for it. The outcome was testified by internet addiction scale, smartphone addiction scale, and school adaptation scale for 2 classes of middle school students(experimental and control class). 2 Main results were as follows; First, the smartphone addiction total score and cyberworld orientation of the students participating in it were statistically significantly reduced. The difficulty of daily living and abstinence symptom due to smartphone overuse of them tended to reduce. Second, internet addiction total and all subscores of them were not changed. Third, class adaptation of them was statistically significantly increased and school adaptation total score and teacher adaptation of them tended to increase. Its meaning, implication and limitation were discussed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a school adaptation program (SAP) for school-age children with emotional and behavioral problems who attended public elementary schools. Methods: SAP, developed by the authors, addresses school adaptation and academic efficacy and consists of 10 sessions based on five categories (i.e., school life, classroom activity, relationship with friends, relationship with teacher, and school environment). Sixteen children with emotional and behavior problems answered questionnaires before and after participation in the program. Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between pre and post-test on school adaptation (t=-2.78, p=.015) and academic efficacy (t=-4.62, p<.001) after the 10 sessions of SAP. Conclusion: The results indicate that SAP can could serve as a practical program for school nurses and teachers. Further studies based on SAP in various school settings are recommended.
Objective: This study is a case study on mother's perceived the adaptation process and program of a one-year-old toddlers in daycare center. Methods: This study is a case study of four mothers who live in Seoul, South Korea and whose first child enters in daycare center at 18 or 20 months. The data collection method was applied to group interview and the individual in-depth interview method. Results: After the interview data was analyzed, first, they decided to enroll their child to a daycare center after two mothers were pregnant with the second child or the others received a phone call for admission. The first impression of the teachers had a great influence on the choice of admission when mother first visited the daycare center. mother, as well as toddlers who exhibited anxiety, experienced an adaptation process. Through communication between mother and teacher, mothers could feel the toddler's adaptation. Second, as for the difference of the adaptation program according to the daycare center type through the adaptation process of the one-year-old toddlers, there was a big difference in the program guide, the period, the content and the proceeding method. Conclusion/Implications: Based on the results of this study, it is expected that it will be a basic data for the development of the adaptation program for one-year-old toddlers in daycare center at the national level.
The ubiquitous computing environment could provide better service to users by adapting to changing contexts. In this paper, we developed a context adaptation system, which enables an ubiquitous program to adapt to different contexts, following its adaptation rules. Using this system, programmers can develop ubiquitous programs suitable for changing contexts, by describing the context adaptation policy. The context adaptation engine of this system fits the ubiquitous program to the current context based on the context adaptation rules. This system was implemented using JCAF, context-aware programing framework based on java. A simulator is also provided to simulate ubiquitous programs by changing contexts.
This quasi-experimental study was intended to test the effect of self-help group program, which is one of the way to enhance adaptation and quality of life to mastectomy patients. Data was collected from July 14, 1998 to Oct. 31, 1998 at two Medical Center in Seoul. The subjects for this study were the patients who had undergone mastectomy and were follow-up ; 14 in experimental group and 14 in control group matched with age and treatment. The instruments for this study were adaptation in Lee(1994)'s physical symptom questionnaire, Zung's Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS, 1965), and Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS, 1970), quality of life in Spranger(1996)'s and No(1988)'s Quality of Life Questionnaire. The self-help group program for mastectomy patients was developed based on literature review and pilot study by the investigator. The subjects of experimental group were participated in 6 weeks self-help group program and were received arm and shoulder exercise, informational support, and interpersonal support by group members. The control group were received no intervention, Both group answered questionnaires prior to intervention and 6 weeks later. The data analyzed by frequency, $X^2$-test, Mann-Whitney U test. Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression using SPSS WIN. The results are as follows ; Hypothesis 1. "The experimental group with the self-help group program will have a higher score on adaptation state than control group." was not supported. But the post test score of anxiety and depression in experimental group were declined and the depression score was reduced relatively. Hypothesis 2. "The experimental group with the self-help group program will have a higher score on quality of life than control group." was not supported. But the posttest score of quality of life in experimental group was reduced relatively. Hypothesis 3. "The higher adaptation state of mastectomy patients, the higher quality, of life." was supported(r=,80, p<.001). Additionally, the lower physical symptom, depression and anxiety, the higher quality of life And depression, which was the main predictor of quality of life, accounted for 59.5%, depression and anxiety accounted for 65.5% of the variance in quality of life. In conclusion, when the self-help group program was intervened to mastectomy patients, it was tended to increase quality of life and to reduce depression and anxiety. So self-help group program can be considered useful nursing inter vention effect on adaptation and quality of life of mastectomy patients. With discussion, I suggest repeated further re search on self-help group with appropriate sample size and longitudinal study. Also during adjuvant therapy, it is needed to develop convenient method to be supported from peer group and family, such as computer mediated support group.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of horticulture activity program on self-esteem and school life adaptation of multicultural adolescent. A non-equivalent control group pre-post test design with experimental group (n=39) and control group (n=36) was used. The program was conducted from Jan. 2 to Feb. 28, 2017, and the questionnaire was conducted before and after the program. Collected data was analyzed by SPSS(Ver, 24.0), conducting ${\chi}^2-test$, Fisher's exact test, t-test, paired t-test. There were statistically significant increase in self-esteem(t=2.41, p=.021) and school life adaptation(t=3.85, p=.000) by difference between a pretest and a posttest in the experimental group compared to that in the control group. Therefore, the horticulture activity program for multicultural adolescent have a significant effect for better performance of self-esteem and school life adaptation. Also, It was confirmed that the program used for improving adaptability of multicultural adolescent.
