This report was done to observe the effect of Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture on Bell's palsy. The study group comprised 16 patients who arrived at Woo-suk university oriental hospital from January, 1999 till January, 2000 for Bell's palsy. All patients were divided into two group. One was herbal acupunture group, and the other was control group. Acupunture group was done herbal acupuncture therapy on the facial acupuncture points. Followings are achievement and a term of each group. In herbal acupuncture group, 100% motor recovery was 7 case, 75% was 1 case, and 25% motor recovery term was $7.38{\pm}5.21$ days, 50% was $11.00{\pm}6.16$ days, 75% was $15.13{\pm}9.55$ days, 100% was $23.14{\pm}7.97$ days. In control group, 100% motor recovery was 4 case, 75% was 2 case, 25% below was 2 case and 25% motor recovery term was $11.17{\pm}4.96$days, 50% was $18.17{\pm}6.82$ days, 75% was $29.50{\pm}6.95$ days, 100% was $44.00{\pm}11.49$ days. The above results indicate that Hominis placenta herbal acupuncture is a useful effect on Bell's palsy. thus, continuous herbal acupunture study will be needed for more clinical application on Bell' palsy.

Objective : The purpose of this paper is to analyze the difference between Baekho-tang(白虎湯) and Baekhogainsam-tang (白虎加人蔘湯). Methods : We compared the effect of Baekho-tang on atopic dermatitis and the effect of Baekhogainsam-tang on allergic contact dermatitis. We focused on the level of thirst. Results : After the Baekho-tang treatment, the SCORAD of atopic dermatitis patient decreased $63.8{\rightarrow}4.3$ and VAS of pruritus on atopic dermatitis patient were improved $8{\rightarrow}2$ respectively. Meanwhile, after the Baekhogainsam-tang treatment, the VAS of pruritus on allergic contact dermatitis patient was improved $7{\rightarrow}2$ and the thirst of the patient improved. Conclusions : There is a difference between Baekho-tang and Baekhogainsam-tang at the level of thirst. Baekhogainsam-tang continues to thirst hard enough to find water.

Objectives : Headache is one of the most common symptom in primary medical care. The purpose of this research is to examine persisting effects of acupuncture treatment for CTTH. Methods : In this randomized, single blind, placebo-controlled study, we compared active acupuncture with sham acupuncture method for the treatment of chronic tension-type headache. Volunteers who satisfied the requirements were enrolled in study. Evaluation of CTTH was measured by VAS, and Headache Disability Inventory(HDI), Six point Likert Scale, Algometer score(Rt, Lt) before and after treatments. Results : 32 subjects finished study. There were no difference between two group on age, sex, weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, differentiation of symptoms, surmise of treatment. In change of VAS, after treatment decreased than before treatment in two group, but there were no statistical significance compared with two group and time. In change of HDI(Total score, Emotional score, Functional score) and Six point Likert scale, after treatment decreased than before treatment in two group, but there were no statistical significance compared with two group and time. In change of two sides Algometer score, after treatment increased than before treatment in two group, and Lt algometer score was statistical significance compared with two group(p<0.001). And both sides Algometer score, threr were statistical significance compared with time. Conclusions : Acupuncture treatment has persisting effects that improve the symptoms and decrease the temporal muscle tenderness in patient with chronic tension-type headache.

Objectives : To evaluate the effectiveness of oriental complex therapy with $Dokhwalgisaeng-tang$($Duhuojisheng-tang$) $Gamibang$ on the lumbago patient. Methods : 13 lumbago patients were treated with $Dokhwalgisaeng-tang$($Duhuojisheng-tang$) $Gamibang$, acupunture, moxibustion, pharmacopuncture, cupping, oriental physical therapy and exercise for lumbago. ODI(Oswestry diability index), ROM(range of motion), pain self assessment were checked to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment. Results : ODI, pain self assessment and ROM were all improved but there were no statistical significance except pain self assessment($p$<0.001). Coclusions : Oriental complex therapy with $Dokhwalgisaeng-tang$($Duhuojisheng-tang$) $Gamibang$ might improve low back pain.

Stable compression fractures are most often caused by trauma as traffic accidents. Stable compression fractures can refer pain to the mid-back, which is characterized by the pain in the thoracolumbar spinous prosess. recently we experienced a 19 years old man who had lumbago originating from Stable compression fractures and condition was improved through burning acupunture.

Objective: There is a case reports on treatment of elbow pain and dysfunction in patients diagnosed as Tennis elbow. We report the Bee venom Acupunure Theraphy about under using elbow pain and dysfunction in patients diagnosed as Tennis elbow got a good remedial value. Methods : The patients diagnosed as Tennis elbow and treated mainly with Bee venom Acupunture Therapy. Results & Conclusions : Symptoms of the patient such as elbow pain and dysfunction were improved after above treatments. So, it is suggested that oriental medical treatment(Bee venom) are effective on Tennis elbow.

Wei symptom(痿證) is symptom that reveals muscle relaxation without contraction an muscle relaxation occurs in the lower or upper limbs, in severe case, leads to death. The symptoms of Wei symptom are weakness, atropy of muscle, gait disturbance, etc. We studied to evaluate the oriental medical treatment on a patient with Wei symptom. We applied various methods of oriental medical treatment including herb medicine, acupunture, moxibustion, herb acupunture. The clinical symptoms that were both lower limbs weakness, gait disturbance, etc. were improved after the methods of oriental medical treatment. The results suggest that oriental medicare is an effective treatment for Wei symptom, but more extensive research is needed.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is about oriental medicine's treatment and approach method of conversion disorder(jungkijeung) Methods: We observed the treatment effectiveness of herb-med, acupunture, physical therapy about conversion disorder(jungkijeung) Result and Conclusions: We try to present the possibility of the approach method about conversion disorder. 1. We should treat conversion disorder(jungkijeung) distinguished Gi deficiency(氣虛) between vigorous gi(氣寶) 2. The acupunture treatment of conversion disorder(jungkijeung) is efficient about all sorts symptoms and pain 3. Dyscinesia's sequela due to conversion disorder(jungkijeung) is possible to be protracted 4. It is important to prevent sick role, and for this, to use physical therapy is efficient about dyscinesia's patient due to conversion disorder(jungkijeung)

We think that we know what alopecia is. But in detail, we have nothing of alopecia areata. Many kinds of alopecia make us be confused. So, I studied the history ( name, cause, treatment etc,) of alopecia areata through the oriental and occidental medical books. As a result, the investigation of alopecia areata was led to the next conclusions 1. Synonyms of alopecia areata are Bandok(斑禿), Docbal(禿髮), Guyjidu(귀지두), Guychedu(鬼剃頭), Gyobalsun(咬髮癬). 2. Generally, the cause of alopecia areata is classified into three groups. Those are hyeolheopungjo(血虛風燥), Chichehyeoleo(氣滯血瘀), Gansinbujoc(肝腎不足). 3. The important internal uses of alopecia areata are Sineungyangjin-Dan(神應養眞丹), Soyosan plus Tonggyuhwalhyeoltang(逍遙散合通竅活血湯), Chilbomiyuom-Dan(七寶美髥丹) etc. 4. The important external uses of alopecia areata are haeaetang(海艾湯), Suncheukbackyeop(鮮側柏葉), Old ginger(老薑), Leaf of mulberry tree(桑葉) etc. 5. The kinds of Acupunture therapy are Maehwachim(梅花針), Chilsungchim(七星針), Ear acupunture(耳針) etc.

Objective: There are some case reports on treatment of shoulder dislocation in Patients Undergoing Stroke. We report the electronic needle and the Bee venom Acupunure Theraphy about under using shoulder dislocation in patients Undergoing Stroke got a good remedial value. Methods : The patients diagnosed as shoulder dislocation and treated mainly with Bee venom Acupunture Therapy and electronic needle Results & Conclusions : Symptoms of the patientes such as shoulder pain, Range Of Motion(ROM) were improved after above treatments. The interval in X-ray film comes to be narrow. So, it is suggested that oriental medical treatment are effective on post stroke with shoulder dislocation.
