A Literature Review on the Acupuncture Therapy of Leukorrhea (대하(帶下)의 침구치료(鍼灸治療)에 관(關)한 고찰(考察))

  • Objective : To review was to study acupuncture and moxibustion treatments for abnormal leukorrhea. Normal leukorrhea is always secreted in female vagina. It increased usually by infection (Trichomoniasis and Candidiasis), turmor and so on. Methods : We extracted the parts and acupuncture and moxibustion leukorrhea from ancient and modern oriental medical literature. We have got compared and analyzed 45 kinds of books since Nei Jing(內經). Results and Conclusion : In acupuncture therapy meridians of Bladder, Stomach, Spleen and Conception vessel were mostly used for them in connection with the functions of each meridians. The acupoint used on acupunture only were 78 acupoints. In particular, Chung-guk(cv3), Kwan-won(cv4) point of Conception vessel Meridian and Samum-gyo point of Spleen meridian are frequently applied in leukorrhea.

  • The etiology of alopecia areata has not been fully elucidated, but autoimmune theory is further strengthened by the increased association of alopecia areata with a number of autoimmune disorders and by the increased prevalence of organ-specific autoantibodies in alopecia areata. Alopecia areata was called 'Yupung(油風)', 'Quijidu(귀지두)', 'Ballak(髮落)' etc. We experienced a patient who had been alopecia areata for ten years. He had been treated alopecia areata with herbal acupunture( mixed CF and JsD). almost entire scalp had been replaced with new termal hairs.

  • The chief symptoms of Sikgwol are confusion, aphasia and quadriparesis. Sikgwol is caused by overeating in instances of deficiency syndrome of the stomach. The symptoms of Sikgwol are similar to those caused by cerebral vascular injury. After medication with Gamiyukgunja-tang and acupunture therapy, the patient symptoms improved rapidly within the first week. Results support the clinical efficacy of Gamiyukgunja-tang for Sikgwol.

  • Objective : This study was designed to investigate the effects of herbal medicine on jaundice caused by hepatic resection. Methods : This study was carried out on one patient with jaundice ensued by hepatic resection. The patient was admitted on October 25th, and treated until November 13th, 2004, using acupuncture and herbal medicine(Hepacure-I and Ex.Sosiho-tang.) Result : After 18 days, clinical symptoms had improved. Results of total bilirubin, ALP, GGT tests and urinalysis also showed improvement. Conclusions : These result support a role for this combination of acupunture and herbal medicine in treatment of chronic liver disease.

  • Cerebral infarction without cerebravascular malformation in childhood is very uncommon. One case of cerebral infarction without cerebravascular malformation in childhood, with symptoms similar to those of an adult, was encountered. This female patient had no cerebravascular malformation and was just ten years-old. She was treated with herb medicine, acupunture treatment and physical treatment. After treatment she recovered from stroke symptoms but the primary cause of stroke was not revealed. Follow-up research is needed to determine the cause of stroke. Results suggest that oriental medical treatment had beneficial effects in treatment of cerebral infarction in this child.

  • This study was done in order to present clinical trial method for safety and efficacy of Pharmacopuncture. The results were summarized as follow: Objective : The purpose of this study is to verify about safety and effectiveness of pharmacopuncture. Methods : We use questionnaire created by expert group. Survey was conducted to target clinicians who using pharmacopuncture more then 5 years. Results & Conclusion : Pharmacopuncture is effective. and that is widely used in the musculoskeletal diseases. but treatment method has not been organized to objectivity. Some pharmacopuncture causes specific symptoms, but no serious side effects. Generally, pharmacopuncture is effective and safety.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report a case of nine-year-old female pediatric patient who had diagnosed as mesenteric lymphadenitis with abdominal pain. Methods : The patient was treated by acupunture (acupoint: Hegu(LI4), Zusanli(S36), Zhongwan(CV12), Tianshu (S25)), indirect moxibustion and herb medicine (Koakhyangjeonggisan-kamibang, Jakyakgamchotang Ex) for one week. We observed clinical progress. Result and conclusions : After oriental medical treatment, symptoms of mesenteric lymphadenitis (day and night abdominal pain, diarrhea) were improved. This study showed that oriental medicine can be a meaningful treatment for mesenteric lymphadenitis. For more accurate studies, further treatment cases would be needed.

  • Objectives : This report aimed to study of paralytic patient associated with Diabetes Mellitus. Methods : Diabetes Mellitus has one of the highest death rate, because of it induces various complications. Especially paralytic patients who associated with diabetes mellitus are slow in recovery and easy to induce many complications. So control of the diabetes mellitus is the most important thing to treatment. We observed and treated with Cheunhwasangamibang and acupunture. Results : The paralytic patient with Diabetes Mellitus was treatment with Cheunhwasangamibang and improvement was seen. Conclusions : Results in this case support a role for Cheunhwasangamibang in controlling Diabetes Mellitus.

  • Eczema herpeticum is a widespread Herpes simplex virus(HSV) infection, which usually develops in patients with atopic dermatitis, because prutitis in patients with atopic dermatits leads them to scratch their bodies, it cause the dissemination of Herpes simplex virus. This study carried out to observe the progress of Eczema herpeticum and find effective remedy. The pastient was taken Herb-medicine with acupunture, cupping theraphy, aroma theraphy, and etc. After the treatment the grade of VAS was decressed and clinical symptoms were gradually disappeared. Those results suggest that herbal treatment was effective to Eczema herpeticum.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to know the effect of Yeonggyechulgam-tang on BPPV. Methods : Three patients were taken Yeonggyechulgam-tang with acupunture. And we used visual analogue scale(VAS). Results : After the treatment the grade of VAS was decreased and clinical symptoms were gradually disappeared. Conclusion : Yeonggyechulgam-tang was effective treatment of BPPV.
