Objective : Hemophilia, a genetically determined disorder, is characterized by abnormality of the coagulation mechanism due to functional deficiency of a specific factor, namely VIII or IX. In this study, the effect of Dong-Si acupuncture therapy on the cerebral hemorrhage patient with hemophilia was evaluated. Methods : We treated him with acupuncture by stimulating Dong-Si acupuncture point(Yuk Wan) and assessed the effect by using manual dynamic evaluation of MRC(Medical Research Council) and Modified Barthel Index. Results : After treatment, the bleeding tendency was grossly reduced and bleeding lesion was absorbed gradually. And manual dynamic evaluation of the upper extremity increased from 4 grade to 5 grade. Conclusions : This result suggest that Dong-Si acupuncture therapy on the cerebral hemorrhage patient with hemophilia was effective. And futher studies are required to concretely prove the effectiveness of Dong-Si acupuncture therapy for treating hemorrhagic diseases.

Objective : To report seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp which is treated by Bee-venom Acupuncture therapy. Methods : Under the assumption that Be-venom Therapy may be effective for treatment seborrheic dermatitis, Bee-venom acupuncture was injected subcutaneously into the lesion including Gv24(神庭), Gv23(上星), Gv22, Gv20(白會), B4(曲差), B5(五處), B6(承光), S8(頭維), etc. Results : The symptoms including erythematous plaque, scale, itching were resolved clearly except a little scale by Bee-venom acupuncture Therapy. Conclusions : Bee-venom acupuncture Therapy is effective in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis. if more clinical trials like this are proved to be effective in seborrheic dermatitis, we can expect that Bee-venom acupuncture Therapy is used to treatment of seborrheic dermatitis as good method.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to evaluate Oriental Medicine Therapy on the Lumbosacral plexitis patient. Methods : The patient was treated with dry needle acupuncture, bee venom pharmacupuncture, herb medicine, indirect moxibustion and physical therapy. We estimated S kinds of Symptoms by Visual Analog Scale, lower limb motor grade test, gait condition test and sensory examination to evaluate the effect of Oriental conservative treatment. Results : After treatment, patient's visual analogue scale score were generally decreased 10 to 4 and lower limb muscle power and gait condition were improved. Conclusions : Oriental Medicine Therapy might be an effective method to treat the Lumbosacral plexitis patient who was diagnosed as Wei Symptom. It is necessary to have more observation and many cases of patients with Lumbosacral plexitis.

Objective : We want to have a correct understanding and the distance about the Oriental Medical therapy on the CP(cerebral palsy) children. Methods : We made up a question of parents of CP children and analyzed it. Conclusion : 19 patients were taken physical treatment and 12 patients were taken occupational treatment in company with physical treatment(In our OPD CP patient) Parents complained about poor surroundings of our hospital for children and deficiency of physical treatment. The most satisfactory thing is acupuncture treatment, then the next thing is aroma therapy. On the satisfaction degree about the Oriental Medical therapy, very good is 27.3%, good 45.5%, ordinary 27.3% and unsatisfaction is none. The place Oriental medical therapy before our hospital was taken is local Oriental medical clinic, 9 cases out of 22.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of Dorsiflexion of foot & great toe of Dong-si acupuncture therapy for the patients with lumbago. Methods : A retrospective study has been carried out for 20 cases of lumbago patients who visited Cheongju Oriental Medical Hospital from January 1, 2002 to June 30, 2002. We have treated tem with acupuncture treatment of Dong-si acupuncture points(Yeong-gol and Dae-baek) and taken measurements with a Hand Grip Meter. Results : 1. There was no siginificance difference between the average values of the whole group and each groups divided by age before and after Dong-si acupuncture therapy. 2. The correlation of measured values before and after Dong-si acupuncture therapy was as much as 0.849, which suggests that the patients with higher value before the therapy also had higher value after the therapy. 3. The average value after Dong-si acupuncture therapy was higher than the average value before the therapy by $1.9625{\pm}.8440$, which suggests the therapeutic significance. Conclusion : The Dong-si acupuncture therapy is effective therapy of Dorsiflexion of foot & great toe.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to observe the clinical effects of acupuncture therapy and Ecklonia cava extract on sleep disturbance in ALS patients. Methods : In this study one patient received acupuncture therapy and took Ecklonia cava extract. The effects of the combined administration of these treatments were evaluated using Numeric Rating Scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Results : The NRS score for sleep disturbance decreased from 10 to 1 and the PSQI score decreased from between 12~13 to 8. After treatment, the patient stopped taking sleeping pills and antidepressant. Conclusions : Combined administration of acupuncture therapy and Ecklonia cava extract could be effective in improving sleep disturbances in ALS patient.

The effect of combined Korean medicine treatment including facial chuna manual therapy was retrospectively investigated in patients with Bell's palsy. There were 16 patients (14 males) who received 2 months outpatient treatment following > 14 days of hospitalization. The Yanagihara score and House-Brackmann grade were used to measure the severity of symptoms and recovery. The patients (mean age 58.5 ± 24.74 years) were categorized based on their medical history of hypertension (n = 10), diabetes millitus (n = 10), or oral intake of steroids early in the diagnosis of Bell's palsy (n = 10). There was no difference between patients who had or did not have a previous history of diabetes mellitus or oral steroid. Both the Yanagihara-score and House-Brackmann grade improved significantly in the total patient sample after treatment (p < 0.001). Combined Korean medicine including facial chuna manual therapy may have a beneficial effect on patient symptoms and recovery.

Objectives : We report two cases of pressure ulcer patients to show the efficacy of treatment with acupuncture and Light Enitting Diode(LED) light therapy. Methods : We treated two pressure ulcer patients with acupuncture, LED light therapy, herbal medication and with a simple dressing. LED light with up to $4J/cm^2$ of energy irradiated the pressure ulcer site once a day for fifteen minutes. All patients received acupuncture treatment and simple dressing for wound care. We measured phase change of the pressure ulcer in terms of ulcer size, The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel(NPUAP) stage and with the The Pressure Ulcer Scale for Healing(PUSH) tool(3.0). Results & Conclusions : In each of the two cases, pressure ulcer size and total score of the PUSH tool decreased and NPUAP stage was improved from II to I. This shows that acupuncture treatment and LED light therapy may have a considerable effect in healing on the pressure ulcer.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to observe the effect of needle-embedding combined with oriental medical treatment therapy on hemifacial spasm. Methods : 2 patients were treated with needle-embedding therapy with oriental medical treatment. After treatment, we evaluated the effect by Scott's scale. And we checked the satisfaction degree and side effect. Results : After treatment, the grade of spasm classified by Scott's scale was decreased and hemifacial spasm was visibly improved. Conclusions : This study showed that needle-embedding therapy with oriental medical treatment was effective to improve hemifacial spasm.

Objective : This study was performed to examine the Magnetic therapy decrease the allergic reaction of Bee Venom. Methods : We injected BV to sample group(n=10) and control group(n=10) at 2 points of body, and also sample group was treated with Magnetic therapy additionally. We observed the change of local pain, pruritus, color difference value at 1 hour, 24 hours after injection. Results : Local pain, pruritus and color difference value of sample group were more decreased than control group. Conclusions : The Magnetic therapy decreased allergic reaction of Bee Venom.
