  • The hyperactivity of cholinergic system in the RVLM of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) may contribute to the sustained elevation of blood pressure. However, the hyperactivity mechanisms of cholinergic system are controversial. Thus, to clarify the mechanisms of cholinergic hyperactivity in RVLM of the SHR, we studied the activities of enzymes that participate in the biosynthesis and degradation of acetylcholine (ACh) and the density of muscarinic receptors in RVLM of the 14- to 18-week-old SHR and age-marched Wistar Kyoto rats (WKY). Choline acetyltransferase activity was far greater in RVLM of SHR than that of WKY. $[^3H]ACh$ release from RVLM was also greater in SHR than in WKY. Acetylcholinesterase activity and $[^3H]NMS$ binding of RVLM slice of SHR were not significantly different from that of WKY. These results suggest that the enhanced cholinergic mechanisms in the RVLM of SHR is due to the enhanced presynaptic cholinergic tone rather than the altered postsynaptic mechanisms.

  • This Study is to construct the Activity System Methods of Site Planning and Design. A planned spaces and facilities is considered usually in relation to users of space and facilities, user attributes, needs and values, and activity patterns. Information obtained form this study adds a qualitative dimension to the quantitative emphasis and supplies information for design-oriented analyses of site planning. In the design-oriented aspect, the concern is with devising desirable land use arrangements and facility supply considering objectives defined in the public interest. The design-oriented approache in site planning and design must use information on activity systems and space qualities in defining planning and design requirements of site development-one in the form of principles and standards of design used in land use and facility planning guidelines, and the other form of input variables for land use model and facility supply model.

  • The whole cells of Actinoplanes missouriensis KCTC 1780 which produce glucose isomerase was immobillized by flocculation method for the effective production of high fructose syrup using packed-bed bioreactor system. Among the flocculation methods used In this study, the glucose Isomerase activity of flocculated cells using 5% polyethylenimmine and 0.2% glutaraldehyde was the highest as 46.3 unit, and the flocculant was 10.3g(wet weight) per 100m1 of broth, and the residual activity was 92.5%. In the batch operation of glucose isomerization using the flocculated cells, the optimum pH, temperature and isomerization ratio were 7.0, 75$^{\circ}C$ and 31%, respectively. The optimum concentration of Mg2+ which was activator on the glucose isomerization of flocculated cells was 0.1M, and glucose isomerase activity was increased by about 40% compared to none of Mg2+. In the packed-bed bioreactor system with 1.2 hour of residence time at 7$0^{\circ}C$, the reaction stability maintained until 96 hour without toss of activity, and the equilibrium was kept up to 120 hours of the operation.

  • The Leaking Fuel Experiment test facility was designed to simulate the activity release from spent leaking fuel rods under steady state and transient conditions in the spent fuel pool. The experimental rig included an electrically heated fuel rod with different defects and a cooling system. The fission product transport was simulated by potassium-chloride. The conductivity changes of the water in the cooling system were measured to provide information about the amount of released solution. Defects of different sizes and positions were applied, together with a wide range of rod powers to simulate decay heat. The produced data can be used for predicting the activity release from leaking fuel under storage conditions and for the interpretation of fuel examination procedures.

  • Based on research of documents left by Vietnamese feudal dynasties, the current article reports how it initially reconstructed the process of Vietnamese tribute activity of Southeast Asia from the 10th to 19th century and demonstrates the significance of these activities to how Vietnam is considered central rather than peripheral as a nation. Tribute activity took place during a period when Vietnam was an independent country; feudal dynasties of Vietnam were independent and autonomous dynasties. Vietnam had just escaped from the 1,000-year invasion of China and more recently gotten out from the control of the French colonialists. From the demonstration of the tribute activity, otherwise called requesting investiture, the current article places it in relation to the contemporary Chinese "tributary system" to draw out the characteristics and its essence. At the time the current article explores the underlying causes that contributed to shaping the core characteristics of this "tributary system" and its significance to power relationships.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of voluntary activity or midterm examination on self-esteem, health-promoting lifestyle, immunoglobulin in Nursing college student. Voluntary activity provides positive emotion(higher score of self-esteem) and midterm examination provides high level stress to students. Emotion and stress affect immune system. Seventy-five and seventy-eight subjects were assigned to voluntary activity and midterm examination group. In analyzing data, paired and unpaired t-tests and ANCOVA were used. The results were as following : 1.1 Self-esteem of after-voluntary activity was increased significantly than before-voluntary activity. 1.2 Health-promoting lifestyle of after-voluntary activity was not increased significantly than before- voluntary activity. 1.3 Immunoglobulin of after-voluntary activity was not increased significantly than before-voluntary activity. 2.1 Self-esteem of after-midterm examination was not decreased significantly than before-midterm examination. 2.2 Health-promoting lifestyle of after-midterm examination was decreased significantly .than before-midterm examination. 2.3 Immunoglobulin of after-midterm examination was not decreased significantly than before-midterm examination. 3.1 Self-esteem of voluntary activity group and midterm examination group was not different significantly. 3.2 Health-promoting lifestyle of voluntary activity group and midterm examination group was different significantly. 3.3 Immunoglobulin of voluntary activity group and midterm examination group was not different significantly.

  • A Neural network classification of human activity data is presented. The data acquisition system involves a tri-axial accelerometer in wireless sensor network environment. The wireless ad-hoc system has the advantage of small size, convenience for wearability and cost effectiveness. The system can further improve the range of user mobility with the inclusion of ad-hoc environment. The classification is based on the frequencies of the involved activities. The most significant Fast Fourier coefficients, of the acceleration of the body movement, are used for classification of the daily activities like, Rest walk and Run. A supervised learning approach is used. The work presents classification accuracy with the available fast batch training algorithms i.e. Levenberg-Marquardt and Resilient back propagation scheme is used for training and calculation of accuracy.

  • In the ubiquitous health monitoring environments, it is quite important not only to evaluate the physiological health condition but also mental stress condition. In order to achieve this goal, a heart activity monitoring system utilizing a wearable bipolar electrode is devised and the heart rate variability(HRV) is extracted and interpreted in both frequency and time feature domains. Consequently, to evaluate the emotional stress condition of the subjects, a stress-induced experimental protocol was applied to healthy subjects and the time and frequency features of heart activity were analyzed in terms of the ratio of low frequency components v.s., high frequency components and the relevant the moving average distributions compromising the successive RR peaks intervals in the ambulatory ECG measurement system.

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of 50% ethylalcohol extracts of Lespedeza cuneata G. Don (LE) on the activity of murine immune cells. LE was administered orally once a day for 7 days at the dose of 250 mg/kg. LE increased the cell viability of thymocytes, splenocytes and peritoneal macrophages in vitro and in vivo system, but decreased the cell viability of thymocytes and splenocytes in the presence of concanavalin A in vivo system. Also, the administration of LE was increased the production of ${\gamma}$-interferone, but did not affect the production of interleukin-2 and interleukin-4. Furthermore, LE decreased the phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages in vitro and in vivo system, but enhanced the production of nitric oxide. These results suggest that LE has a immuno-regulative action via stimulation of immune cells proliferation.
