  • In order to enhance the effect of Problem-based Learning, the role of scaffold as a learning support strategy is necessary. Collective intelligence provides scaffolding in the sense that it integrates users' knowledge, information, experiences, values, etc. Based on these factors, collective intelligence determines the direction of behavior, revises the direction continuously, and provides problem-solving methods. Teaching and learning situations emphasize learners' initiative, voluntary, and active participation. Thus, this study was conducted to find out if collective intelligence can be an effective and attractive alternative of learning strategy. Specifically, this study purposed to examine how collective intelligence performs the role of scaffold on the Web and what types of scaffolding are provided to learners. According to the results of this study, collective intelligence had a positive effect on learners' learning attitude, confidence, interest, etc. in the affective aspect, but its effect on the cognitive aspect was different according to learners' school year and learning level. Because collective intelligence had a positive effect on learners, we identified scaffolding types explanation, suggestion of direction, illustration and feedback in the cognitive aspect, and positive response and encouragement in the affective aspect.

  • The wave of a knowledge and information society led by AI, Big Data, and so on is having an all-round impact on our way of life. Therefore the Ministry of Education is in a hurry to strengthen Digital Literacy, including AI and SW Education, by improving the curriculum that can cultivate basic knowledge and capabilities to respond to changes in the future society. It can be seen that establishing a foundation for cultivating Digital Literacy through all subjects and improving basic and in-depth learning in new technology fields such as AI linked to the information curriculum is an essential part for future society. However, research on each content for cultivating Digital and AI literacy is relatively active, while research on teaching and learning strategies is insufficient. Therefore in this study, a CT-based Digital and AI teaching and learning strategy that can foster that was developed and Delphi expert verification was conducted, and the final teaching and learning strategy was completed after evaluating instructor usability and analyzing learner effectiveness.

  • Since the nonlinearity and uncertainties which inherently exist in vehicle system need to be considered in active suspension control law design, this paper proposes a new control strategy for active vehicle suspension systems by using a combined control scheme, i.e., respectively using a genetic algorithm (GA) based self-tuning PID controller and a fuzzy logic controller in two loops. In the control scheme, the PID controller is used to minimize vehicle body vertical acceleration, the fuzzy logic controller is to minimize pitch acceleration and meanwhile to attenuate vehicle body vertical acceleration further by tuning weighting factors. In order to improve the adaptability to the changes of plant parameters, based on the defined objectives, a genetic algorithm is introduced to tune the parameters of PID controller, the scaling factors, the gain values and the membership functions of fuzzy logic controller on-line. Taking a four degree-of-freedom nonlinear vehicle model as example, the proposed control scheme is applied and the simulations are carried out in different road disturbance input conditions. Simulation results show that the present control scheme is very effective in reducing peak values of vehicle body accelerations, especially within the most sensitive frequency range of human response, and in attenuating the excessive dynamic tire load to enhance road holding performance. The stability and adaptability are also showed even when the system is subject to severe road conditions, such as a pothole, an obstacle or a step input. Compared with conventional passive suspensions and the active vehicle suspension systems by using, e.g., linear fuzzy logic control, the combined PID and fuzzy control without parameters self-tuning, the new proposed control system with GA-based self-learning ability can improve vehicle ride comfort performance significantly and offer better system robustness.

  • This paper investigates the problem of co-tier interference mitigation for dynamic small- cell networks, in which the load of each small-cell varies with the number of active associated small-cell users (SUs). Due to the fact that most small-cell base stations (SBSs) are deployed in an ad-hoc manner, the problem of reducing co-tier interference caused by dynamic loads in a distributed fashion is quite challenging. First, we propose a new distributed channel allocation method for small-cells with dynamic loads and define a dynamic interference graph. Based on this approach, we formulate the problem as a dynamic interference graph game and prove that the game is a potential game and has at least one pure strategy Nash equilibrium (NE) point. Moreover, we show that the best pure strategy NE point minimizes the expectation of the aggregate dynamic co-tier interference in the small-cell network. A distributed dynamic learning algorithm is then designed to achieve NE of the game, in which each SBS is unaware of the probability distributions of its own and other SBSs' dynamic loads. Simulation results show that the proposed approach can mitigate dynamic co-tier interference effectively and significantly outperform random channel selection.

  • This study explored the effects of year-long plant observation activities as a strategy for classroom management on third-grade elementary school students. To examine the effects of the activities, plant observations were described according to the time of sequence and the observation types and students' epistemic emotions were analyzed. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, steady plant observation activities caused meaningful changes in the students' observation types. Second, it induced the students' active participation with positive emotions. That is, the plant observation activities allowed the students to observe using various senses, raised their interest and curiosity, and thus resulted in satisfactory learning experiences while having fun during participation.

  • Increasing interest in computer-mediated learning technologies has prompted educators to incorporate them into many learning environments ; however, there is still little evaluative evidence to support their effectiveness. This report describes the development and evaluation of a web-based instructional program on basic nursing science for nursing students. Researcher-designed questionnaires were used to assess the characteristics of our students, and to solicit their ratings of the instructional program on ease of use, accuracy of content, clarity of content, interest, and convenience of the program, using 5-point Likert scales. The respondents indicated that the package was easy and convenient to use, with high technical quality, and of a level challenging to some but not all of the students. On-line quizzes were most highly rated. Also it was confirmed that frequent users of electronic bulletin board showed much higher achievement score than that of nonfrequent users. It was also found that the effect of cyber education was dependent on the active participation of the students. These data suggest that the use of web-based instructional program as a distance education strategy can be an effective method for nursing students and nurses.

  • This study explores aspects of Vietnamese students' acculturation and acceptance behavior of K-fashion, based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB). In-depth interviews were conducted with 8 Vietnamese international students in Korea. The results of the study firstly indicate that K-fashion acceptance behavior of Vietnamese students reflected eight values of K-fashion, two motives of behavior, and two types of K-fashion acceptance behavior. Vietnamese students generally displayed a favorable attitude toward K-fashion. They all switched to K-fashion styles and actively showed their styles through SNS. Second, there was a difference in K-fashion behavior depending on whether the motivation for acculturation was of an active or inactive nature. The distinction between these two groups was determined by applying behavioral reasoning theory (BRT). Students whose motivation for learning Korean was an interest in Korean culture were characterized by active behavior in adapting to Korean culture, while those whose motivation for learning Korean was for strategic reasons, such as finding a good job, exhibited inactive K-fashion acceptance. This study has academic significance in that it enhances the understanding of Vietnamese consumers through the K-fashion acceptance behavior of Vietnamese students in Korea. Vietnamese students who actively embrace K-fashion play an important role in spreading K-fashion, so it could be beneficial to establish a strategy for promoting K-fashion in collaboration with them.

  • This paper presents a precise tracking control scheme for the proposed parallel robot using artificial neural network. This control scheme is composed of three feedback controllers and one feedforward controller. Conventional PD controller and artificial neural network are used as feedback and feedforward controller respectively. A backpropagation learning strategy is applied to the training of artificial neural network, and PD controller outputs are used as target outputs. The PD controllers are designed at the robot dynamics based on inter-relationship between active joints and moving platform. Feedback controllers insure the total stability of system, and feedforward controller generates the control signal for trajectory tracking. The precise tracking performance of proposed control scheme is proved by computer simulation.
