교대근무 간호사의 월경불편감과 대처방법과의 관계 (Relationship between Menstruation Distress and Coping Method among 3-shift Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify menstrual distress, coping method and relief of symptoms among female nurses who worked with 3-shift. Methods: A total of 185 participants were recruited from November 18, 2011 to January 30, 2012. The measurement included menstrual distress and coping method questionnaire and relief of symptoms. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients with SPSS 19.0 Results: The level of menstrual distress was moderate (mean 3.0), and there were significant differences in menstrual distress by age, education, stress, regularity of menstrual cycle. Among the coping methods, coping according to menstrual cycle specific was the most frequently used, followed by active recognizing coping, active behavioral coping, and avoidance coping. Among the degree of symptom relief, symptom relief score was the highest when used coping according to menstrual cycle specific. Menstrual distress was associated with stress, adequate amount of sleep, dysmenorrhea and number of coping method total. Conclusion: Nurses experienced moderate levels of menstrual distress and used various types of coping to relieve it. There is a need for hospital nurses to develop an effective nursing intervention to relieve the menstrual distress and utilize active coping methods.

초등교사의 성인애착과 교사-학생 관계에서 인지적 유연성과 적극적 대처의 매개 효과 (The Mediating Effect of Cognitive Flexibility and Active Coping on the Relationship between Adult Attachment and Perceptions of Teacher-student Relationships in Elementary School Teachers)

  • 본 연구에서는 초등교사의 성인애착이 교사가 지각한 교사-학생 관계에 미치는 영향에서 인지적 유연성과 적극적 대처가 매개하는지 검증하였다. 경기도에서 근무하는 203명의 초등교사를 대상으로 자기보고식 설문을 실시하였으며, 측정도구로 성인애착, 인지적 유연성, 적극적 대처, 교사-학생 관계 척도를 사용하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0과 SPSS Macro를 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등교사의 성인애착과 교사가 지각한 교사-학생 관계를 인지적 유연성이 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 초등교사의 성인애착이 안정적일수록 인지적 유연성이 증가하여 교사-학생 관계가 향상됨을 의미한다. 둘째, 인지적 유연성과 적극적 대처의 매개효과를 함께 고려할 때, 초등교사의 성인애착과 교사가 지각한 교사- 학생 관계를 적극적 대처가 매개하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 성인애착이 적극적 대처로 가는 직접경로가 유의미하지 않음을 의미한다. 셋째, 초등교사의 성인애착과 교사가 지각한 교사-학생 관계를 인지적 유연성과 적극적 대처가 순차적으로 매개함을 확인하였다. 즉, 초등교사의 애착이 안정적일수록 인지적 유연성이 높아져 적극적 대처를 하게 되므로 교사가 학생과의 관계를 더욱 긍정적으로 지각하게 된다는 것이다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 밝히고, 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

간호대학생의 셀프리더십과 스트레스 대처능력이 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Self-Leadership and Stress Coping on College Life Adjustment in Nursing Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among self-leadership, stress coping skills, and college life adjustment in nursing students. The data were collected using a self-reported questionnaire from November 4 to November 22. The subjects of the study were 335 nursing students in 1 nursing college located in K city. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and multiple regression test using the SPSS Win. 18.0 program. The results were as follows: the mean score of self-leadership was 3.38, the mean score of stress coping skills was 3.45, and the mean score of college life adjustment was 3.35. There was a significant difference in college life adjustment according to motivation of entrance. Goal-setting, self-reward, and constructive ideas about the self-leadership and active stress coping skills were influencing factors of college life adjustment. In conclusion, it is necessary to increase the level of self leadership and active stress coping skills in nursing students. The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to develop diverse educational programs that can increase self-leadership and active coping skills.

임상간호사의 완벽주의 성향과 대처유형이 소진에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Perfectionism and Coping Styles on Burnout in Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the influencing factors on burnout after analyzing the relationship among clinical nurses' various perfectionism and coping styles. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted with 200 clinical nurses who had six months or more years of clinical experiences from two general hospitals located in D city. The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise regression analysis using IBM SPSS statistics 23.0 program. Results: The burnout of clinical nurses was positively correlated with socially prescribed perfectionism and negatively correlated with active coping style. Socially prescribed perfectionism was positively correlated with active coping style and passive coping style. Influencing factors on the burnout of clinical nurses were socially prescribed perfectionism (${\beta}=.37$), satisfied work unit (${\beta}=-.64$) and neutral satisfaction of work unit (${\beta}=-.27$), over 40 years of age (${\beta}=-.21$), and active coping style (${\beta}=-.14$). The model consisting of these variables explained 42% of variance of burnout in clinical nurses. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study developing intervention programs that consider influencing factors such as perfectionism and coping styles is needed to reduce the level of burnout of clinical nurses.

대학생의 건강증진행위와 영향요인: 낙관성과 대처능력을 중심으로 (Health Promoting Behaviors and Influencing Factors of University Students: Optimism and Coping Skills)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this descriptive study was to identify predictors on health promoting behaviors of university students. Methods: The participants were 310 students by convenience sampling in G city. The data were collected through a questionnaire given to the students between September 10 to November 6, 2006. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Results: The mean score for the level of health promoting behaviors and optimism was 2.60(${\pm} .31$) and 2.70(${\pm} .55$) respectively. The most frequently used coping skill was the pursuit of social support. There were positive correlations between health promoting behaviors and optimism, between health promoting behaviors and active coping skill, and between health promoting behaviors and passive coping skill. In stepwise multiple regression analysis, the most powerful predictor of health promoting behaviors was active coping skill. Conclusion: The results suggest that coping skills with optimism can be considered when developing a health promotion program for university students.

When in danger, who will help you? Two types of trust in technical coping on online platforms

  • Purpose Social networking service (SNS) platforms employ distinct networking strategies to meet the varying needs of their users, resulting in divergent sets of technological functionalities offered by each platform. Consequently, unique features on various SNSs give rise to distinct social issues. Moreover, the available technical coping mechanisms for users vary significantly across platforms. Design/methodology/approach Therefore, this study analyzes the factors affecting technical coping intention based on technical functions of SNSs for users exposed to cybercrime, such as sexual harassment. We divide coping intention into active and passive coping intention. Furthermore, this research focuses on trust as an antecedent of coping intention and verifies how human and system-like trust affects two coping intentions in different directions. Findings Findings reveal that system-like trust significantly affects both active and passive coping intention as a belief in whether the technology will work properly. However, in the case of human-like trust, trust in the platform provider was found to negatively affect passive coping, which is considered unsocialized behavior on SNS platforms. Therefore, both human-like and system-like trust for the platform must be appropriately applied to cope with the problem while activating the platform.

고등학생의 학업 스트레스, 신체화 증상, 사회적 지지가 대처유형에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Academic Stress, Somatization Symptoms, and Social Support on Coping Responses in High School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate factors associated with coping responses in Korean public high school students. Methods: This study employed a descriptive survey research design. The sample included 263 high school students who responded to a self-report questionnaire. Variables included socio-demographic characteristics, health-related characteristics, academic stress, somatization symptoms, social support, and coping responses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlations, and multiple regressions. Results: Participants, regarding their school life, reported moderate levels of academic stress ($M{\pm}SD=2.3{\pm}0.52$) and somatization symptoms ($M{\pm}SD=2.3{\pm}0.71$), and a relatively high level of social support ($M{\pm}SD=4.2{\pm}0.67$). All the variables were associated with the use of multiple coping responses. Active-cognitive coping ($M{\pm}SD=2.9{\pm}0.68$) was most frequently used, followed by active-behavioral coping ($M{\pm}SD=2.5{\pm}0.56$). and avoidant coping ($M{\pm}SD=2.3{\pm}0.75$). Significant relationships were found among the measured variables: positive relation between academic stress and somatization symptoms, but, negative between academic stress and both somatization symptoms and social support. Students who had higher stress and more somatization symptoms were more likely to use avoidant coping than the others. In multiple regression analysis, while factors associated with each coping response differed, gender appeared to be a significant factor in all methods. Variables included in the final model explained 27% of the variance in avoidant coping (F=11.40, p<.001). Conclusion: Based on the study results, schools should provide tailored educational programs to help high school students reduce multisource stress and somatization symptoms at school and cope with them in more active and effective ways.

응급구조(학)과 학생의 스트레스, 우울, 대처방법 및 임상실습 만족도 (Stress, depression, coping styles and satisfaction of clinical practice in EMT-paramedic students)

  • Purpose : The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between stress, depression, coping styles, and satisfaction of clinical practice in paramedic students. Methods : The study was conducted to 221 paramedic students who have experienced clinical training from March until June in 2012. Questionnaires consisted of level of stress, depression, coping styles, and satisfaction of clinical practice. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results : The mean score of stress was $2.69({\pm}.69)$, depression was $19.09({\pm}9.41)$, coping styles was $3.17({\pm}.47)$, and satisfaction of clinical practice was $3.61({\pm}.58)$. Stress had a significant positive correlation with depression and a negative correlation with active coping and satisfaction of clinical practice. Depression had a significant positive correlation with passive coping and a negative correlation with satisfaction of clinical practice. Active coping had a significant positive correlation with passive coping and satisfaction of clinical practice. Conclusion : There was a positive effect on decreasing stress and depression in paramedic students, and encouraging positive coping when the students received counseling and instruction for clinical practice.

커뮤니케이션 능력 및 의사소통의 양과 질에 따른 대학생의 스트레스와 스트레스 대처의 차이 (The Difference of the College Students' Perceived Stress and Stress Coping Style According to the Communication Competence, Communication Amount and Depth)

  • The current study examined the difference of the college students' perceived stress and stress coping style according to the communication competence and communication amount & depth. Firstly, the differences of college students' perceived stress was shown according to their communication competence. Communication time (amount) and depth also affect their perceived stress. In detail, higher appropriateness and effectiveness were, the weaker the stress was. Secondly, the differences of college students' stress coping style was shown according to their communication competence, communication amount and depth. In detail, respondents who have high appropriateness showed the active stress coping style more. And respondents who have high effectiveness showed the active stress coping style more. Limitations and suggestions for future study were discussed thereafter.

대학생의 우울, 자아탄력성, 적극적 스트레스 대처가 인터넷중독경향에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Depression, Ego-resilience, and Active Stress Coping on Internet Addiction Tendency among College Students)

  • Purpose: The prevalence of problematic internet usage among college students is a cause for concern. There is a lack of study examining influences of cognitive protecting or buffering factors on internet addiction among college students. The purpose of this study was to examine influences of depression, ego-resilience, and active stress coping on internet addiction tendency (IAT) among college students. Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive design was used. Data were collected between October and December 2013. A convenience sample of 244 students completed self-report questionnaires consisting of Ego-resiliency Scale, Ways of Coping Checklist, Center for Epidemiologic Studies-Depression, and Self-report Scale for Internet Use. Stepwise multiple regression analysis was performed for data analysis. Results: We found that higher levels of depression were associated with higher levels of IAT. However, an inverse association was found between active stress coping and IAT. Students who mainly used the internet for chatting showed lower levels of IAT than those who used the internet for games or blogs. These factors explained 15.1% of the variance in IAT of college students. Conclusion: The study results suggest that stress coping strategies and depression are important factors for evaluation when developing intervention programs targeting college students with problematic internet use.
