가상현실(Virtual Reality) 기반 복합인지중재 프로그램이 노인의 인지기능, 우울, 디지털 격차 해소에 미치는 영향: 탐색적 연구 (The Effect of Virtual Reality-Based Complex Cognitive Training Program on Cognitive Function, Depression, Digital Divide Reduction in the Elderly: An exploratory study)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a virtual reality-based complex cognitive training program for depression, cognitive function, and digital divide reduction in the elderly who have not been diagnosed with dementia or MCI. Methods : We enrolled 16 participants who were over 65 years old and not been diagnosed with dementia or MCI. We randomly divided into three groups (A, B, C). Participants underwent an 8-week virtual reality-based complex cognitive training program (60 minutes each session, twice per week). At a baseline, all participants completed questionnaires on general features, depression and cognitive function. After four weeks, all participants completed questionnaires on depression and cognitive function. After the end of the last program, participants conducted questionnaires on depression, cognitive function, and usability evaluation. Results : At the 8-week follow-up, 16 participants completed the program. Compared to the baseline, the average score of cognitive function was increased (from 26.5 to 28.5), although it was not statistically significant (p<.061). There were no significant differences between baseline and post-training evaluations on depression scores. The average score of usability evaluation was 75.56, which corresponds to good. Conclusion : Even though the results showed no statistically significant findings in cognitive function and depression after the virtual reality-based complex cognitive training intervention, this pilot study proposed the possibility of utilizing the virtual reality program as a tool that provides active learning opportunities for the elderly and helps improve their cognitive function through multi-sensory components. Also, the findings of this study suggested a positive reevaluation of the elderly's digital access capabilities while reducing the digital divide. A virtual reality-based complex cognitive training program improved the social network of the elderly. We expect that it will expand in size and help with their social participation of the elderly.

정보과잉 요인과 뉴스 소비 패턴의 관계: 티핑 포인트의 역할을 중심으로 (Factors of Information Overload and Their Associations with News Consumption Patterns: The Roles of Tipping Point)

  • 본 연구는 Jackson and Farzaneh(2012)이 제시한 정보과잉의 세 가지 요소, 즉 시간, 기술, 사회적 네트워크로 구성된 이론적 모델을 뉴스 소비 행위 맥락에서 경험적으로 검증했다. 1,166명의 전국 샘플을 토대로 분석한 결과, 정보과잉 지각과 사회적 네트워크 크기와 다양성은 적극적이고 소극적인 뉴스 소비와 모두 정적인 관련이 있었다. 또한 개인적으로 다양한 수준의 인지적 한계점, 즉 티핑포인트의 존재를 암시하는 연구결과를 토대로, 정보과잉에도 불구하고 개인의 티핑포인트에 따라 정보처리가 중단되지 않고 정보이용을 지속할 수 있다는 점을 확인했다. 특히, 본 연구가 주목한 뉴스 소비자들의 경우 정보과잉 지각에도 불구하고 뉴스의 사실성을 판별하기 위해서 지속적으로 정보를 검색하고 받고자 하는 의도가 높기 때문에 개인의 티핑포인트에 따라 전략적인 뉴스 소비를 채택하는 것으로 보인다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 경영정보시스템과 저널리즘 차원에서 실무적 함의를 논의했다.

기체 크로마토그래피 질량 분석법을 이용한 다크닝 샴푸의 성분 분석 및 안전성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Ingredients and Safety of Darkening Shampoo using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS))

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 시장에서 판매되는 다크닝 샴푸 5종에 대한 성분 분석을 실시하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 해당 제품들의 유효 성분과 안전성에 대해 평가하였다. GC-MS 분석을 통해 각 샴푸의 주요 성분을 확인한 결과, 제조사가 표기한 전성분 목록과 일부 차이가 있는 화합물들이 검출되었다. 이는 GC-MS 분석의 한계와 특정 화합물의 휘발성 여부에 따른 것으로 해석된다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로, 모발의 색상 변화에 기여할 가능성이 있는 화합물을 조사하였다. 그러나 이러한 화합물들이 모발 다크닝 과정 자체에 직접적으로 관련된 역할을 하는 성분이라고 단정지을 수는 없었다. 다만 헤어 케어 제품의 성능을 향상시키고 모발에 대한 일부 추가적인 이점을 제공하거나 제품의 질감, 안정성 또는 보존 등의 특성을 향상시키는 역할을 하는 것으로 추정할 수 있었다. 또한 GC-MS 성분 분석 결과, 확인된 성분 중 안전성이 우려되는 화합물에 대한 조사를 통해 화장품 원료로 사용될 경우 주의가 필요한 몇 가지 화합물에 대한 정보를 제시하였다.

자폐 스펙트럼 장애 아동의 섭식 문제에 대한 중재의 국외 문헌 연구 (A Literature Review on Overseas Intervention Study for Feeding Problems in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study provided an overview of the general status and recent intervention approaches in overseas research related to feeding problems in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This review aims to explore interventions for feeding problems in order to provide higher quality follow-up research directions and implications, particularly focusing on providing recommendations for future research in the context of domestic studies. Methods : Analyzing studies published in international journals from 2017 to 2023. This review involved six selected articles, through Embase, Pubmed, RISS, KISS database search engine. A literature analysis that includes inclusion and exclusion criteria, six selected articles were examined. The literature analysis categorized the general status of the research and intervention approaches and treatment components into intervention, treatment settings and therapists, and dependent variables, respectively. Results : Among feeding intervention approaches, parent education interventions based on behavioral therapy had the highest proportion, followed by multidisciplinary interventions. To maintain the effectiveness of interventions over the long term and to generalize them to the home environment, parent education that utilizes parents as mediators is considered a crucial factor. The most commonly observed effects as dependent variables were changes in the consumption of disliked foods, health foods and alterations in feeding behavior. Conclusion : This study introduces various intervention approaches for addressing feeding problems in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), focusing on the positive effects demonstrated by active intervention research in abroad. Furthermore, it underscores the need for additional research in Korea to validate the efficacy of these feeding intervention methods. Lastly, the study outlines future research directions aimed at developing feeding programs to support children with ASD and their families coping with feeding issues.

네트워크 약리학 방법을 이용한 위장관 운동성 장애 관련 마늘의 효능 분석 (Analysis of the Effectiveness of Garlic on Gastrointestinal motility disorders using a network pharmacological method)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to explore the compounds, targets and related diseases of garlic by the approaches of network pharmacology and bioinformatics in traditional chinese medicine. Methods : We investigated components and their target molecules of garlic using SymMap and TCMSP and they were compared with analysis platform. Results : 56 potential compounds were identified in garlic, 26 of which contained target information, and it was found that these 26 compounds and 154 targets interact with each other through a combination of 243 compounds. In addition, Apigenin was linked to the most targeted gene (78) in 26 compounds, followed by Kaempferol (61 genes), Nicotic Acid (14 genes), Geraniol (11 genes), Eee (10 genes), and Sobrol A (9 genes). Among 56 potential compounds, three compounds (Kaempferol, Dipterocarpol, and N-Methyl cytisine) corresponded to the active compound by screening criterion Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion (ADME). In addition, 12 compounds in 56 potential compounds were associated with gastrointestinal (GI) motility disorder. Among them, Kaempferol was a compound that met the ADME parameters and the rest were potential compounds that did not meet. Also, Kaempferol was closely related to GI motility disorder, indicating that this Kaempferol could be a candidate for potential medical efficacy. Conclusions : It shows the relationship between the compound of garlic, an herbal supplement, and the biological process associated with GI motility disorder. These results are thought to help develop strategies for treating GI motility disorders.

등차수열 수업에서 나타나는 학생의 수학 주목하기 (Students' mathematical noticing in arithmetic sequence lesson)

  • 본 연구는 수열에 대한 학생의 두 가지 인식을 바탕으로 고등학교 수열 수업에서 나타나는 학생의 수학 주목하기를 분석하였다. 구체적으로 수학 주목하기를 초점의 중심, 초점을 유발하는 상호작용, 수학 과제의 특징, 수학 활동의 본질의 네 가지 측면에서 분석하여 다음의 결과를 얻었다. 우선 초점의 중심 변화 양상은 '초점을 유발하는 상호작용', '물질적 자원', '수학 활동의 본질' 중 어떤 한 구성요소만으로는 유일하게 묘사될 수 없었다. 다음으로 수학 주목하기 구성요소 간의 상호작용이 식별되었으며, 소집단 활동에서의 교사의 개별 피드백은 초점의 중심 형성에 영향을 주었다. 마지막으로 학생들은 동일 교실, 즉 동일 초점을 유발하는 상호작용, 물질적 자원, 수학 활동의 본질 내에서도 서로 다른 두 가지 추론 양상을 보였다. 본 연구가 마중물이 되어 수열에 대한 학생의 이해 연구가 더욱 활발히 진행되길 기대한다.

작약감초탕 가 현호색의 항염증 기전에 대한 네트워크 약리학적 분석 (Network pharmacology analysis of Jakyakgamchotang with corydalis tuber for anti-inflammation)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the molecular targets and pathways of anti-inflammatory effects of Jakyakgamchotang with corydalis tuber (JC) using network pharmacology. Methods : The compounds in constituent herbal medicines of JC were searched in TCM systems pharmacology (TCMSP). Target gene informations of the components were collected using chemical-target interactions database provided by Pubchem. Afterwards, network analysis between compounds and inflammation-related target genes was performed using cytoscape. Go enrichment analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis were performed on inflammation-related targets using DAVID database. Results : 70 active compounds related to inflammation were identified, and 295 target genes related to the anti-inflammatory activity of the compound of JC were identified. In the Go biological process DB and KEGG pathway DB, "inflammatory response", "cellular response to lipopolysaccharide", "positive regulation of interleukin-6 production", and "positive regulation of protein kinase B. signaling", "positive regulation of ERK1 and ERK2 cascade", "positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB signaling", "negative regulation of apoptotic process", and "PI3K-Akt signaling pathway" were found to be mechanisms related to the anti-inflammatory effects related to the target genes of JC. The main compounds predicted to be involved in the anti-inflammatory effect of JC were quercetin, licochalcone B, (+)-catechin, kaempferol, and emodin. Conclusions : This study provides the molecular targets and potential pathways of JC on inflammation. It can be used as a basic data for using JC for various inflammatory disease in traditional korean medicine clinic.

Schisandrin A in Schisandra chinensis Upregulates the LDL Receptor by Inhibiting PCSK9 Protein Stabilization in Steatotic Model

  • Schisandra chinensis extract (SCE) protects against hypocholesterolemia by inhibiting proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin 9 (PCSK9) protein stabilization. We hypothesized that the hypocholesterolemic activity of SCE can be attributable to upregulation of the PCSK9 inhibition-associated low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR). Male mice were fed a low-fat diet or a Western diet (WD) containing SCE at 1% for 12 weeks. WD increased final body weight and blood LDL cholesterol levels as well as alanine transaminase and aspartate aminotransferase expression. However, SCE supplementation significantly attenuated the increase in blood markers caused by WD. SCE also attenuated WD-mediated increases in hepatic LDLR protein expression in the obese mice. In addition, SCE increased LDLR protein expression and attenuated cellular PCSK9 levels in HepG2 cells supplemented with delipidated serum (DLPS). Non-toxic concentrations of schisandrin A (SA), one of the active components of SCE, significantly increased LDLR expression and tended to decrease PCSK9 protein levels in DLPS-treated HepG2 cells. High levels of SA-mediated PCSK9 attenuation was not attributable to reduced PCSK9 gene expression, but was associated with free PCSK9 protein degradation in this cell model. Our findings show that PCSK9 secretion can be significantly reduced by SA treatment, contributing to reductions in free cholesterol levels.

네트워크 약리학 연구를 통한 좌금환의 기능성 소화불량증 치료기전 연구 (Study of the therapeutic mechanism of Zuojin Pill about functional dyspepsia through network pharmacology research)

  • Objectives : Zuojin Pill, recognized as an effective herbal remedy, has undergone investigation for its potential in alleviating symptoms like indigestion, vomiting, and abdominal distension. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mechanism of digestive function activation through network pharmacology, particularly focused on improving functional dyspepsia. Methods : The two components, Coptidis Rhizoma and Evodiae Fructus, constituting Zuojin Pill were analyzed based on broad information on chemical and pharmacological properties, confirming 40 active compounds and 115 digestive-related molecular targets. Concentration analysis revealed impacts on various pathways related to digestive functions. Results : According to network pharmacological analysis of Zuojin Pill, quercetin and beta-sitosterol were exhibited relatively numerous targets, suggesting their potential significance in the therapeutic activity of Zuojin Pill and by a Protein-Protein Interaction (PPI) network, JUN, RELA, MAPK1, HSP90AA1, TP53, TNF, AKT1, IL6, MAPK14, ESR1, FOS, MYC were identified. Also, berberine exhibited the highest contribution index (92.58%), indicating that this compound may be a major contributor to the digestive activity of Zuojin Pill. Additionally, functional interaction analysis by GeneMANIA indicated that targets of Zuojin Pill could functionally interact through various mechanisms, implying similarities in pharmacological roles. Conclusions : These findings contribute valuable insights into the digestive function activation mechanism and highlight the therapeutic potential of Zuojin Pill in improving functional dyspepsia.

홍릉강소특구와 해외 바이오 클러스터 간 협력 방안 연구 (A Study on Cooperation Strategies between the HongNeung Bio Cluster and Overseas Bio Clusters)

  • 최근 coronavirus disease 2019 팬데믹은 약물 개발 및 백신 제조에서 기회와 발전을 촉진하여 시장 성장을 가속화했다. 이에 따른 바이오시장의 급격한 팽창에도 불구하고, 한국의 바이오 시장은 상대적으로 부족한 점유율을 가지고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해, 정부는 바이오 클러스터의 설립을 포함한 다양한 전략을 시행하여 바이오산업에서의 혁신과 성장을 촉진하고 있다. 본 연구는 한국의 홍릉 강소연구개발특구를 중심으로 미국의 보스턴 바이오 클러스터와 싱가포르의 바이오폴리스와 비교 분석하고 있다. 이들 클러스터의 발전 역사, 구조, 성공요인을 인프라, 내부구성요소, 정책 및 제도의 세 가지 분류를 통해 각 클러스터의 공통점과 차이점을 분석한 후, 홍릉강소특구에 적용하여 향후 발전방안을 모색하였다. 홍릉강소특구가 선도적인 바이오 클러스터로 성장하기 위해서는 강력한 정부 지원, 혁신적인 인프라 확충 및 인재 유치, 전략적 파트너십 등의 맞춤형 정책시행이 필요하며 이를 위해서는 해외 바이오 클러스터와의 적극적인 협력체계 구축 및 교류가 요구된다.
