We developed an improved 3-PM liquid scintillation counting (3-PM LSC) method in which three detectors can be displaced to back and forth directions, and a data acquisition system being able to provide the values for all parameters required for the method. The detectors are entirely located in a 20-mm lead chamber of an inner diameter of 500 mm. A saw-toothed gear ties up all detectors so as to move them uniformly, up to 50 mm with unit of 1 mm. The data acquisition system was designed in an integrated circuit to perform the necessary works such as fast amplification, discrimination, coincidence and logic analysis. It generates values of nine parameters among twelve's generated in the 3-PH LSC method. The dead time of each counting channel is of extending type, valving from 10 to 100 $mutextrm{s}$. We measured the TDCR values with an unquenched liquid scintillation source 1"C by displacing the detectors with a step of 2.5 mm away from counting vial. Their values were derived on the range from 0.9 to 0.6. The extent is three times wider than those regions observed by applying the defocalization technique.ique.

In UMTS terminal modem uses 3 step search procedure for initial cell search, which comprises 1) slot synchronization, 2) code group identification and frame synchronization, and 3) scrambling-code identification. The performance of initial cell search procedure depends on search parameters like observation time and threshold. The purpose of this paper is to get the optimal observation time and threshold of each step for minimum mean acquisition time. In this paper we induce mean detection time of each step and mean acquisition timefrom the model of 3 step search procedure using state diagram. Also we propose initial cell search algorithm which utilize window search method against initial oscillator error, and select an appropriate observation time and threshold of each step by the analysis of simulation and induced result. It is shown that the mean acquisition time in multipath fading channel can be shorter than 500ms by using the determined observation time and threshold of each step.
For quantitative analysis of nano-crystal structure, we reported the accuracy improvement method of lattice parameters measured from electron diffraction. For calculation of Au lattice parameters used as a standard crystal structure, it was considered two different acquisition methods (detector and enegy-filter) and three different calculation methods (conventional, least-square and regression fit). As a result, the measurement reliability could be enhanced by using CCD camera which gives higher performance, while energy-filtering did not affect the improvement the camera constant accuracy. Also, the accuracy of lattice parameters could be improved up to $10^{-4}$ order by regression fitting with correction formula. Finally, it is expected that the combination of regression fitting and intensity extraction from energy-filtered precession electron diffraction gives a solution of quantitative structure analysis for unknown nano-crystals.

A divided matched filter-reference filter(MF-RF) technique for LEO satellite packet transmission is proposed to increase the packet throughput in the presence of severe Doppler shift and fading. To overcome the severe Doppler shift, the divided matched filter is adopted where the integration region of matched filter is divided and ouputs of divided matched filer are added to decide the correct pseudo-noise (PN) phase. To maintain the constant false alarm rate in time varying interference and fading channel, the adaptive threshold for acquisition is obtained from the reference filter. As a performance measure, average acquisition time and packet throughput are used, and the effets of the parameters, i.e., Doppler shift, chip energy to noise ratio, user velocity, standard deviation of shadowing, and preamble length are shown.
This study was undertaken to investigate the load characteristics of the head-feed thresher, which may be affected by various factors such as physical properties of grain, thresher design parameters and its operational condition. The study was conducted at an initial step toward developing an automatic feed-rate control system of the head-feed thresher. A microcomputer-based data acquisition system for the load-speed characteristic of the thresher-shaft and the rail-deflection of the feeding device in accordance with a varied feeding thickness was developed. The sensors being developed and used for sensing the torque and speed of the cylinder and the power-input-shaft and the feeding thickness showed a high accuracy. A microcomputer-based data acquisition system developed in this study was assessed as adequate for a rapid acquisition and analysis of data. The effect of the feed-rate on the torque and speed of the thresher shaft, when fed intermittently by bundles, affected not by the rice varieties but by the dryness of threshing material tested. When fed by the continuous constant thickness, the torque and speed of the cylinder due to the increase of the feed-rate or feeding thickness were given by the relation by the second order parabola.
Shanghai Tower is a composite structure building with a height of 632 m. In order to verify the structural properties and behaviors in construction and operation, a structural health monitoring project was conducted by Tongji University. The monitoring system includes sensor system, data acquisition system and a monitoring software system. Focusing on the health monitoring in construction, this paper introduced the monitoring parameters in construction, the data acquisition strategy and an integration structural health monitoring (SHM) software. The integration software - Structural Monitoring/ Analysis/ Evaluation System (SMAE) is designed based on integration and modular design idea, which includes on-line data acquisition, finite elements and dynamic property analysis functions. With the integration and modular design idea, this SHM system can realize the data exchange and results comparison from on-site monitoring and FEM effectively. The analysis of the monitoring data collected during the process of construction shows that the system works stably, realize data acquirement and analysis effectively, and also provides measured basis for understanding the structural state of the construction. Meanwhile, references are provided for the future automates construction monitoring and implementation of high-rise building structures.
In general, image acquisition characteristics tests of image sensors and modules vary widely according to the characteristics of image sensors and modules under test, the application purpose of target devices where image sensors and modules are mounted, and the functions of test equipments. However, some de facto standard tests are frequently used in industry fields. They differ only in several parameters e.g. thresholds for fault detection, and they can be applied to most image sensors and modules. In this paper, 11 typical tests are explained in detail, and they are described in a simple and clear form under single framework, which significantly reduces errors and saves efforts.

Signal acquisition performance is evaluated for the tiered polyphase code (TPC) which is proposed as a ranging signal structure for global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs). Compared to the tiered code (TC) which is adopted in European Union's GALILEO system, the TPC shows robust performance to frequency offset in acquiring signal. Therefore the TPC should have SNR gain in signal acquisition and can reduce computational complexity in the receiver. In this paper, we compare the signal detection probability of the TC and TPC under the same receiver architecture and GALILEO E5a-I signal parameters.
A vision sensor should be calibrated prior to infer a Euclidian shape reconstruction. A point to point calibration. also referred to as a hard calibration, estimates calibration parameters by means of a set of 3D to 2D point pairs. We proposed a new method for determining a set of 3D to 2D pairs for the structured light hard calibration. It is simply determined based on epipolar geometry between camera image plane and projector plane, and a projector calibrating grid pattern. The projector calibration is divided two stages; world 3D data acquisition Stage and corresponding 2D data acquisition stage. After 3D data points are derived using cross ratio, corresponding 2D point in the projector plane can be determined by the fundamental matrix and horizontal grid ID of a projector calibrating pattern. Euclidian reconstruction can be achieved by linear triangulation. and experimental results from simulation are presented.

These fields are integrated to visualize and finalize the proposed development, in simulation environment. SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems and distributed control systems (DCSs) are widely deployed in all over the world, which are designed to control the industrial infrastructures, in real ways. To supervise and control the various parts of designed systems; trends to require a deep knowledge to understand the overall functional needs of industries, which could be a big challenge. Industrial field devices (or network sensors) are usually distributed in many locations and are controlled from centralized site (or main control center); the communication provides various signs of security issues. To handle these issues, the research contribution will twofold: a method using cryptography is deployed in critical systems for security purposes and overall transmission is controlled from main controller site. At controller site, multimedia components are employed to control the overall transmission graphically, such as system communication, bytes flows, security embedded parameters and others, by the means of multimedia technology.
