Evaluation of Sound Insulation Performance of a Unit Cabin Mock-up (유니트 캐빈 목업(mock-up)의 차음성능평가)

  • Sound insulation performance of a unit cabin mock-up is studied, where two identical rooms simulating cruise ship cabin are installed. STL (Sound Transmission Loss) measurement in the mock-up shows that STL of the partition between rooms is degraded by imperfect door ceiling and gap between wall and floor. It is also observed that gap around lighting and electrical outlet slightly affect the STL in high frequency ranges, since lighting and electrical outlet are supported by mineral wool in the back side due to fire-resistance requirement. Even after all possible gaps are sealed, STL of the partition is found to be lower than that measured in the laboratory by 9 dB. Measurement of SBN (Structure-Borne Noise) reveals that flanking transmission of SBN along the steel deck floor can severely deteriorate STL of the partition. Statistical energy analysis (SEA) of the mock-up confirms importance of the floor SBN control, in which increasing damping is essential to ensure high STL.

  • While American acoustics had been lagged behind European one in the nineteenth century, Alfred Mayer greatly contributed to enhance American experimental acoustics. He inherited experimental skills in collaboration with Koenig in Paris, and got chances to obtain research ability from leading researchers such as Rayleigh during his visit to England. His accomplishments, which brought him fame in Europe, included the creation of the acoustic pyrometer which measured the high temperature by means of the thermal change of the sound velocity, the discovery of mosquito's hearing by selective resonance, the formalization of the duration of the residual sensation of sound, the invention of the topophone which searched for the direction of the sound source, the construction of the apparatus for visualizing the frequency of sound and so on. He not only added new research results to Europe's acoustics but applied acoustics to physical education to help produce the next generation of American acousticians.

Tunnel Sonic Boom Analysis using monopole source modeling (홀극음원 모델링을 이용한 고속전철 터널 충격성 소음해석)

  • When a high-speed train enters a tunnel, a compression wave is generated. This wave subsequently emerges from the exit portal of the tunnel, which causes an impulsive noise called 'Sonic boom' or 'micro-pressure wave'. In the present study, new method is presented for prediction of sonic boom noise, especially focusing on the effect of the nose shape of the train on the resultant noise. Acoustic theory for monopole source is used to represent a nose shape of the train in wave equation. Compression wave propagation in tunnel considering tunnel track condition and emission of sonic boom was calculated. The predicted compression waves and impulsive sound waves are compared with recent measurements, and show reasonable agreements.

  • Comparison for various empirical models of normal incident absorption was made, along with experiments. Comparative result indicates that Voronina model which is function of fiber diameter and porosity is more suitable than the other models. An investigation for correlation between normal and random incident absorption was carried out by experiment and analysis. It appears that at the low frequencies, the random incident absorption is higher than the normal one, whileas at the high frequencies, the random incident absorption is decreased due to the effect of grazing incident components.

  • The present paper focuses on the analysis of aero-acoustics characteristic by several boundary conditions. In this simulation, a high-order and high-resolution numerical schemes are used for the accurate computation of compressible flow with several boundary conditions including characteristic boundary conditions as well as extrapolation and zonal characteristic boundary condition. These boundary conditions are applied to the computation of two dimensional circular cylinder flows with Mach number of 0.3 and Reynolds number of 400. The computation results are validated with measurement datum and other computation results for the Strouhal frequency of vortex shedding, the mean drag coefficient and root-mean-square lift for the unsteady periodic flow regime. Secondary frequency is predicted by three kinds of boundary conditions characteristic.

  • The customers demand of a good vehicle agility consists of a quick reaction of the vehicle with the actuation of the throttle pedal on one hand and a high comfort level of vibration and noise within the vehicle on the other hand, which means the reduction of disturbing side effects. In order to achieve a satisfactory compromise it is necessary to gain a deeper understanding of the complex, high dynamic vibrations system "vehicle / drive train". For several years the ika has been carrying out such detailed vehicle investigations and test bench measurements in addition to comprehensive CAE analysis for various research projects in partnership with different vehicle manufacturers.

  • 각종 재료의 음향투과손실을 간단히 비교 시험할 수 있는 관내법이 향후 국제규격으로 제정될 것에 대비하여 우선 KS 규격 제정을 목적으로 제반 특성평가를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 임피던스관을 제작하고, 관 벽을 따라 시편을 지나 마이크로폰 위치까지 전달되는 진동량, 무반사처리부의 흡음률 등 기본적인 특성을 살펴보았다. 최종적인 검증을 위해 몇 가지 시편에 대해 투과손실을 측정하고 이론적 해석에 의한 예측 값과 비교하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 서라운드 패닝알고리즘에서의 음색보정필터 설계기법에 대한 것으로 기존 패닝알고리즘에 음색보정필터를 추가하여 가상음원의 음색왜곡을 보정하는 알고리즘을 제안한 다. 가상음상과 실제 라우드 스피커의 머리전달함수 분석을 통해 기존 일정파워패닝알고리즘의 음색왜곡 문제점을 지적하고 이를 완화시키기 위한 새로운 패닝알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • 거리종속 해양환경에서 정상모드 모델 중 하나인 KRAKEN 과 Lambert 공식 형태의 산란 함수를 이용하여 양상태 잔향음을 모델링 하였다. 단열 (adiabatic) 정상모드 모델을 이용하여 거리종속 환경에서의 송신기와 산란체, 산란체와 수신기 사이의 음장을 계산하며 각 산란체에서의 산란 강도는 각 모드별 파수에 의한 입사각 및 산란각을 이용, 모드 조합에 의해 계산하였다. 또한 광대역 모델링을 이용하여 시간 영역에서의 잔향음 신호를 계산하였다.

  • 산조 가야금의 경우 몸체의 뒷판에 세 개의 구멍(공명혈)이 있다. 이 구멍은, 몸체를 일정한 부피를 가진 용기로 보았을 때, 그 용기의 입구의 단면적, 다시 말해, 헬름홀츠 공진기 (Helmholtz Resonator) 입구의 단면적과 같다. 본 논문에서는 이 공명혈의 역할을 알아보기 위해, 1) 우선 기성의 산조 가야금 몸체의 세 공명혈을 모두 막은 상태, 일부만 막은 상태, 열려있는 상태에서의 몸체의 충격응답 전달함수를 측정, 분석하여 개략적으로 알아보았고, 이어서 2) 뒷판에 구멍이 전혀 없는 실험용의 산조 가야금 몸체의 제작을 의뢰하여, 뒷판 중앙에 구멍을 점차적으로 넓게 뚫어가면서, 각 단계별로 몸체의 충격응답을 측정하여, 구멍의 크기와 몸체의 충격응답 전달특성 변화 간의 상관관계를 분석 해보았다.
