The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in color, pattern, and texture of functional materials of outdoor clothing according to new senior women's psychological comfort. The data were collected from 163 female respondents aged 55-64 living in Busan. The results of the study are as follows. First, both the high and low psychological comfort groups preferred soft material the most. The high psychological comfort group particularly preferred soft textures and highly evaluated textured material in general. Second, both groups mostly preferred plain patterns while the high psychological comfort group preferred the dot pattern more. Third, in terms of colors, the high psychological comfort group preferred navy and purple, while the low psychological comfort group preferred brown. As to achromatic colors, both groups preferred black the most with the high psychological comfort group preferred gray and white more than the other group. Fourth, the high psychological comfort group preferred colors and patterns of clothing that made one look the most slimming, while the low psychological comfort group strongly preferred colors and patterns of clothes. Therefore, our results suggest that new senior women have a strong interest in outdoor clothing, not only in terms of textile functions, but also having interest in textile designs. In particular, the new silver women value psychological comfort in colors more than patterns of textile design.

The purpose of this study is to examine a unique characteristic of the colors of the costumes in Korean basic culture in the aim of seeking the characteristics and the conceptual meanings of colors found in the majority’s culture. The scope of the basic culture was divided into folk belief, folk game and folk play. Within these limits, the colors of the dress, accessories, instruments were extracted by comparing with the naked eye in NCS Color System. For the analysis of hue and tone, the secondary dimensional analysis using NCS color system and the three-dimensional analysis using the software, COLOR 3D Version 2.0, were done. The result of this investigation is that the colors of the costume in the Korean basic culture are white, gray and black of achromatic color and yellow, yellowish red and purplish blue. This confirms that the colors based on Five-elements color are becoming the basis too basic culture. And Arche-pattern, which is a characteristic commonly found in the Korean traditional society, was shown as a characteristic of color. The colors of the costumes in Korean basic culture are uniquely adopted by the Korean civilians according to their religious and philosophical living standard. This study is meaningful in seeking a root for the formation of their unique color culture.

Considerate design enhances the familiarity, consideration and design accessibility of various customers. The aim of this study lies on analyzing the aesthetic characteristics and instrumental characteristics of fashion design and applying the considerate design principles. The fashion photograph collection that applies the considerate design principle, was collected from 2006 S/S to 2011 F/W through the following internet site: www. style. com. First, the considerate design key words used in the preceding studies and literatures were classified semantically into these words: "Supportiveness", "Variability", "Ease", "Protection". The result shows that considerate fashion design has used simple, comfortable and achromatic, squared silhouettes that are not affected by the changing trend, simple color coordination and hard materials to prolong the product and the plain pattern. By analyzing the instrumental characteristics of considerate fashion design according to the principles, designs of "Supportiveness" purposely used many changes and showed reversible ways the most. Designs of "Variability" used design changes in length, volume, detail, and other changing forms. Designs of "Ease" used easy-wear apparel, ties and pleats. Designs of "Protection" partially used coverings and different combinations.

Leggings are recognized as unique fashion items that meet the needs of customers to express individuality due to their protective and thermal functions. They are highly practical fashion items that show a casual, street and sportive style with a noted influence on outdoor leisure fields. This study analyzes the sociocultural background for the spread of leggings as well as their design characteristics, coordination characteristics and authentic characteristics. The formative characteristics of modern legging designs are as follows. First, the shapes of modern leggings are ankle-length, calflength, above-knee, knee-length, stirrup and top of the foot-length. Leggings are transformed in many ways: length-expansion, side-slit, unbalanced length, variations of straps, cut-out, trimmings, pattern transformation and complex form. Second, modern leggings contain achromatic colors in modern and sensual image, vivid colors in sportive image and metallic colors futuristic and technical image. Third, leggings patterns value originality, uniqueness and rarity as shown by printed geometric patterns, hand crafted geometric and natural patterns, and abstract patterns expressed through various materials and themes. Fourth, modern leggings' textures are categorized into erotic, simply-functional, seasonless, glossy, and metallic. Functional and fashionable leggings reflect the psychological needs of modern society. This study suggests a direction for the development of legging designs and provides a theoretical database for higher value-added leggings business.

본 논문에서는 인간시각시스템을 고려한 칼라 영상 워터마킹을 제안하였다. 일반적으로 색상과 채도의 변화보다는 휘도의 변화에 더 민감한 인간의 시각의 특성을 고려하여 RGB 좌표계의 칼라 영상을 HSI 좌표계로 변환하여 워터마크를 삽입하였다. 워터마크 삽입은 원영상과 워터마크를 이산 코사인 변환하여 계수들을 합함으로써 원영상에 워터마크를 삽입하였다. 워터마크 추출은 워터마크가 삽입된 영상을 역 이산 코사인 변환하여 워터마크를 추출하였다. 실험을 위해서 원영상은 표준영상을 사용하고, 워터마크는 지문 영상을 사용하여 실험한 결과, 비가시성과 강인성을 만족하였다.

Folk costumes in East Asia are characteristic in their colors of the five-element colors based on natural colors or achromatic colors (such as white or black) that imply the beauty of nature or the beauty of naivety. The Asian look adopts forms of Asian costumes into western costumes in terms of structure, silhouette, ornament, pattern, and color; in particular, color had very limited attributes. This study is a comparative study on colors, shown in East Asian folk costumes and the Asian look. It discovered the differences of color in East Asian folk costumes and the Asian look to discuss the backgrounds of difference. For research, it simultaneously conducted literary reviews and empirical research based on the Asian look. Asian colors that appeared in some costumes of the Asian look were influenced by East Asian costumes, while the primary color of playfulness or color for low chroma or black exuding a contemporary nuance (common in the western fashion) were prevalent. This revealed that the costume that had the attribute of playfulness in terms of structure, ornament, or patterns is adopted in western fashion through the fusion of eastern forms and pastiche. Colors of the Asian look are different from those of East Asia with superficial imitation, in which all the East Asian spirits and symbolism are lost. While folk costumes of East Asia hold symbolism derived from Asian spirits, the Asian look disintegrates the ideology of East Asian costumes and replaces it with a Postmodern playfulness.

This study analyzed wearing conditions to develop an optimum sports brassiere for women in their 50s. A total of 35.9% of the women exercised three times a week and 51.1% had been exercising for more than 2 years, and 58.5% exercised for 30 minutes to 1 hour each day. Regarding the question of whether women wore a sports brassiere when exercising, 54.8% of the respondents answered 'No'. 73.9% of the respondents found a sports brassiere stuffy. The most important factors in purchasing a sports brassiere were wear comfort and functionality. In particular, more exercise demanded greater functionality. When purchasing a sports brassiere, the price range was the highest for 84.3% of the respondents at less than 50,000 won, and 45.2% preferred achromatic colors. A total of 47.9% preferred the length of the sports brassiere to be about 5 cm from the bust; however, the respondents who exercised more preferred shorter length sports brassiere. A total of 57.6% of the respondents preferred the width of the shoulder strap to be 1-3 cm; however, respondents who exercised more preferred the shoulder strap to be more than 3 cm wide. Most respondents preferred the sports brassiere to have a moderate degree of compression at the front breast area.

The research is committed to inquire about the attributes of color schemes and their image, and the results are as follows : One, the preference of ranges of neon colors was explicit, and the frequency of use of neon colors distinctively diverged season by season. Two, it was observed that, with neon colors, an achromatic color scheme was a more preferred arrangement. As for chromatic colors, neutral and mid-tone natural colors were more favored since they did not tarnish the properties of neon colors and, yet, more effective exhibiting images in diversity and variety. Three, the neon color fashion generally displayed a dual image: its original classification embellished with neon colors rendering the image of powerful and futuristic sensation. Having been around since the early 2000's, the frequency and range of use of neon colors have been increasing rapidly mostly by the sports, leisure and related industries. Regardless of the fact, neon colors will be rediscovered with a variety of color schemes and expand their application.

The Belgian textile wallcovering has the following background. The unique oceanic climate is optimized for flax. Beginning in the thirteenth century, British wool was produced for export to Britain or neighboring countries. Since the 15th century, Flemish paintings were influenced by color implementations, and these colors have influenced the developments of tapestry and art. Since that time, tapestry and paintings combined with paper technologies and Oriental civilizations, such as silk, that had been developed through trade ports, have been transformed into the form of current wallcoverings. Belgium produces the highest quality textile wallcovering using natural materials i.e., a combination of irregular and modern materials, and the implementation of different colors. The Belgian textile wallcovering is also a good representation of nature at the Heimtextil 2018, It provides a wide range of colors while retaining the best styles for wallcoverings in Belgium. The characteristics of Belgian wall coverings are: First, the high proportion of achromatic colors, especially the white ones, are analyzed for current trends. Second, it expresses the characteristics of materials by using only one material. This not only shows a high level of understanding of natural materials, but also shows a high level of development in terms of processing technology. Thirdly, linen was made into a formative expression using wrinkle processing and by printing geometric patterns, the rough texture of natural materials was expressed in harmony with modern patterns.

Smoke detection plays an important role for the early detection of fire. In this paper, we suggest a newly developed method that generated LBPV(Local Binary Pattern Variance)s as special feature vectors from RGB contrast images can be applied to detect smoke using SVM(Support Vector Machine). The proposed method rearranges mean value of the block from each R, G, B channel and its intensity of the mean value. Additionally, it generates RGB contrast image which indicates each RGB channel’s contrast via smoke’s achromatic color. Uniform LBPV, Rotation-Invariance LBPV, Rotation-Invariance Uniform LBPV are applied to RGB Contrast images so that it could generate feature vector from the form of LBP. It helps to distinguish between smoke and non smoke area through SVM. Experimental results show that true positive detection rate is similar but false positive detection rate has been improved, although the proposed method reduced numbers of feature vector in half comparing with the existing method with LBP and LBPV.
