청소년의 정신건강문제가 자살 관련 행위에 미치는 영향: 청소년 건강행태조사 자료를 이용하여 (The influences of mental health problem on suicide-related behaviors among adolescents: Based on Korean Youth Health Behavior Survey)

  • Purpose: This study explored the influencing factors on suicide-related behaviors (ideation, plans, and attempts) focusing on mental health problems (anxiety, depression, and loneliness) among Korean adolescents. Methods: A secondary analysis was conducted with data from the 16th Korean Youth Health Behavior Survey collected from in 2020 by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Chi-square tests and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed. Results: After the adjustment of demographic characteristics and health risk behaviors, the influences of mental health problems on suicidal ideation, plans, and attempts showed the anxiety odds ratio (OR) for severe anxiety vs. minimal (OR 4.65, 4.67, and 3.75), depression (OR 4.27, 3.69, and 4.49), loneliness (OR 2.18, 1.96, and 1.96). Health risk behaviors (violence experience, drug use, stress, smoking, and drinking alcohol) and demographic variables (gender, school record, and socioeconomic status) were also significantly associated with suicide-related behaviors. Conclusion: Anxiety, depression, and loneliness were strong predictors of suicide-related behaviors. Early detection of suicide risks through screening for comprehensive mental health problems was recommended. Suicide prevention that considers the risk factors, including mental health problems and other risk factors, needs to be developed and implemented to reduce suicide risks among adolescents.

Best Practices in the Implementation of Research Infrastructure in the Academic Environment: Shortcomings and Revisions

  • The Digitalia MUNI ARTS - a local node of the LINDAT/CLARIAH-CZ research infrastructure at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University constitutes a repository in the Islandora system. It is used for long-term preservation of research data together with their research environment in the form of digital platforms. We transfer the digital outputs of humanities scholars research to the repository according to a set plan, which is based on best practice recommendations for project management and digital curation. In this paper, we present how the results of interviews with platform developers and infrastructure stakeholders translate into the curation workflow, and a resulting model for migrating digital platforms to the repository. Reflecting on three types of problems we encountered during the implementation of platforms into the repository - communication problems, problems of external dependence, and management problems - we describe a modification of the migration process. We present six recommendations for repository administrators and curators in an academic setting - holding an introductory meeting with developers, researching significant and relevant theories of knowledge domain, consulting license experts, prioritizing requirements, and preparing handover protocol and progress reports.

종합대학 도서관장서의 적정량기준 설정에 관한 고찰 -미국의 종합대학도서관기준을 중심으로- (Problems in Quantification of Adequacy of Academic Library Collections -Critical Analysis of Standards for Academic Libraries in the U.S.-)

  • Library standards have been the source of considerable controversy, whereas many problems are involved in developing stardard for university library collections. For evaluation purposes, standards should be precise, quantifiable and measurable. In the United States, however, standards for academic libraries are limited to qualitative statements and principles. Quantitative standards, when given, are ususally related to the number of population in the institution being served, or the prescribed quantitative objectives are often arbitrarily formulated by value judgements. The study in this paper attempts to explain the problems involved in developing quantitative standard for academic library collections. Two problems facing in the formulation of the optimal size of collection are identified. One is the theoretically faulty concept of adequacy of collection to meet the situations of diversity of university libraies, and the other is the difficulties in quantification and measurement, along with the lack of concept of adequacy of collection. However, quantification of adequate size of collection is proved to be useful on the pratical level, even though not valid theoretically. ACRL, Clapp/Jordan and Voigt developed formulas or models for setting the optimal size of a library collection for any particular university library. The main purpose of this study is the analysis of the above formulas. ACRL standard was drawn from obervation and analysis of statistcs in leading library collections. In academic field, this judgement appears to have been based on the assumption that a high-grade institution would be apt to have a good library collection. This study criticizes ACRL standard for its failure to include some determinants of measurements, and points out the limitations of the standard. In contrast. Clapp/Jordan developed a formula rather scientifically based upon bibliographical sources. This is similarly empirical but has the advantage of bringing into play the elements which make universities diverse in nature. Both ACRL and Clapp/Jordan formulas share two major defects. (1) the specific subject needs of the collection are not indiacted directly, and (2) percentage rate of growth is an indicator in measuring the potential utility of a collection. Thus both formulas failed to provide a basis for meaningful evaluation. Voigt further developed a model for determining acquisition rates for currently published materials based on bibliographic technique. Voigt model encourages experimentation with different programs and different allocations of input resources, designed to meet the needs of the library's particular population. Standard for university library collections can be formulated in terms of input(traditional indicator), or additionally, in terms of output(cost-effectiveness). Cost effectiveness is expressed as user satisfaction, ability to provide wanted materials within a reasonable time period. Thus simple quantitative method does not cover all the situations of diversity of university library collections, nor measures the effectiveness of collections. Valid standard could not be established without further research.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 영어권 주요 국가들인 미국, 영국, 호주 및 캐나다의 대학도서관들이 인식한 고등교육 환경변화와 문제점에 대응하여 국가나 정부 차원에서 마련한 대책 및 발전전략을 분석하는 것이다. 대학도서관들이 공통적으로 직면한 문제들은 대학도서관 예산의 축소와 도서관 역할의 변화, 학술정보자원 가격의 급등과 도서관 구매력의 감소 도서관 콜렉션 속성의 변화, 정보기술의 발전과 정보 기반구조의 요구 등으로 요약할 수 있다. 각 나라의 특성에 따라 다양하고 상이한 발전전략을 갖고 있으나, 대체로 자원공유, 공동목록, 공유저장 시설, 학술정보자원의 공동협상과 구매, 학술 커뮤니케이션의 패러다임 변화의 측면에 노력이 집중되고 있음을 보여준다.

The Lived Space of Mathematics Learning: An Attempt for Change

  • Background Phenomenography suggests that more variation is associated with wider ways of experiencing phenomena. In the discipline of mathematics, broadening the 'lived space' of mathematics learning might enhance students' ability to solve mathematics problems Aims The aim of the present study is to: 1. enhance secondary school students' capabilities for dealing with mathematical problems; and 2. examine if students' conception of mathematics can thereby be broadened. Sample 410 Secondary 1 students from ten schools participated in the study and the reference group consisted of 275 Secondary 1 students. Methods The students were provided with non-routine problems in their normal mathematics classes for one academic year. Their attitudes toward mathematics, their conceptions of mathematics, and their problem-solving performance were measured both at the beginning and at the end of the year. Results and conclusions Hierarchical regression analyses revealed that the problem-solving performance of students receiving non-routine problems improved more than that of other students, but the effect depended on the level of use of the non-routine problems and the academic standards of the students. Thus, use of non-routine mathematical problems that appropriately fits students' ability levels can induce changes in their lived space of mathematics learning and broaden their conceptions of mathematics and of mathematics learning.

부모 양육태도와 청소년의 정서문제 간의 상호적 관계: 종단적 자기회귀교차지연 분석 (The reciprocal relationships between parenting attitudes and emotional problems in adolescence: A longitudinal cross-lagged analysis)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the reciprocal relationship between parenting attitudes (positive and negative) and adolescent emotional problems as indicated by aggression, social withdrawal, and depression. Methods: This study analyzed longitudinal data from 2,325 parents and their children from the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 at three time points over a three-year period (the first to third grade of middle school). Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling was conducted using AMOS 26.0. Results: The results indicated that both parenting attitudes and adolescents' emotional problems were relatively stable over time. In other words, the parenting attitude at a previous point affects the parenting attitude at a later point, and the emotional problem at the previous point continues to affect the emotional problem at the later point. There were no significant cross-lagged effects from both positive and negative parenting attitudes to adolescents' emotional problems. In contrast, adolescents' emotional problems at previous time points positively predicted negative parenting attitudes at later time points. In other words, if there were many emotional problems of aggression, social withdrawal, and depression in adolescents at a previous time, negative parenting attitudes such as rejection, force, and inconsistency at a later time increased. Conclusion: This study can reflect the characteristics of the development of independence in adolescence. Parents should deal with their children's emotional problems based on their understanding of the developmental characteristics of adolescence, and this study provides a strategy for parents to establish appropriate parenting attitudes for adolescents with emotional problems.

고수동굴 관람대상물의 안내판에 대한 문제점 고찰 (Consideration of the Problems with the Information Board of Gosu Cave's Viewing Objects)

  • 개방 동굴 내의 안내판은 지형지물에 대한 명칭이나 설명문을 포함되어 있으며, 동굴을 찾는 관광객에게 중요한 정보를 전달하는 매체로서의 역할을 하고 있다. 그러나 실제로 명칭 및 안내문에는 많은 오류를 비롯하여 관람객에게 혼동을 주거나 올바르지 않은 정보를 제공하는 결과를 초래하고 있다. 이러한 정보전달의 매체로서의 중요성을 인식하고 그 문제점을 파악하였다. 첫째, 대부분 동굴 지형의 학술적 명칭보다는 지형지물의 형태에 따른 추상적인 명칭이 부여되고 있다. 둘째, 대부분의 지형지물에 대한 명칭만이 부여되어 학술적 설명문이 미약하여 정보 매체로서의 역할이 부족하다. 셋째, 설명문의 경우, 잘못된 표현이나 오류가 보이며, 학술적으로 논란이 있는 부분을 객관적이지 못한 설명이 되어있다.

대학도서관 웹사이트 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Academic Library Website)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 대학도서관 웹사이트의 효율적인 활용을 위하여 웹사이트의 설계지침을 제공하는데 있다. 웹자원평가 기준과 도서관 웹사이트 설계 기준을 근거로 조사 기준을 설정하고, 이 기준을 적용하여 국내 23개 대학도서관 웹사이트를 권위, 정보내용, 기능성, 디자인 측면에서 조사 분석하였다. 국내 대학도서관 웹사이트는 메뉴체계, 접근편의성, 디자인 등의 면에서 많은 문제점이 나타났으며, 연구 결과에서 대학도서관 웹사이트의 설계 지침을 제안하였다.

  • It is high time to prepare the online publication system of academic research paper. Online publications like digital research paper, e-Book, etc. are increased day by day as the information technology(IT) is developing continually. But, the legal aspect of publication system of academic research paper in Korea is not prepared yet. The purposes of this study are to examine the problems on the publication system of academic research paper in the context of digital goods and to frame a policy of legal proceedings in relation to the social science. The methodology used in this paper is theoretical analysis which is examining the case of academic research system and scientific journal in Korea. As a result of this study, following measures are suggested: (1) Legal provisions on the online publication system, that is, "Research Promotion Law of Korea" controlled by KRF(Korea Research Foundation) and MOE(Ministry of Education) should be revised. (2) Solution like software program and DB system proceeding the data on academic research paper should be prepared newly. (3) From the viewpoint of digital goods, both protecting the intellectual property right and settling the reliance upon online publication system should also be considered simultaneously.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 대학도서관 경영의 활성화 및 지식강국화를 위해 제반 사항들을 다각적으로 고려하면서 국가적 차원에서 추진해야 할 중 장기 발전 방향을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 대학도서관의 현안사항 및 문제점을 조사 분석하고, 그 결과를 중심으로 대학도서관의 발전전략을 수립하고, 대학도서관의 추진 사업별 개선 방향을 마련하였다. 이와 함께 본 연구에서는 이러한 사항들을 종합적으로 고찰하여 국가적 차원에서 추진해야 할 대학도서관 정책 로드맵을 작성하여 제시하였다.
