The absorption coefficient of contrast media was measured in region of diagnostic radiology. Relative values of absorption coefficient was found the largest peak in the range of $60{\sim}70\;kVp$ for barium sulfate and 60 kVp for iodine. Increasing the thickness of contrast media and patient, the values of absorption coefficient was rising. In the Radiograph, desired $70{\sim}80\;kVp$ in the gastrointestinal digestion tract with barium sulfate and the vascular tract is before and behind 65 kVp of exposure.

One of the most important properties of the IC substrate is that it should be uniform over large areas. Among the various physical approaches of wafer defect characterization, special attention is to be payed to the infrared techniques of inspection. In particular, a high spatial resolution, near infrared absorption method has been adopted to directly observe defects in semi-insulating GaAs. This technique, which relies on the mapping of infrared transmission, is both rapid and non-destructive. This method demonstrates in a direct way that the infrared images of GaAs crystals arise from defect absorption process. A new interpretation is presented for the observed reversal of contrast in the infrared absorption of nonuniformly distributed deep centers, related to EL2, in semi-insulating GaAs. The low temperature photoquenching experiment has demonstrated in a direct way that the contrast inverse images of GaAs wafers arise from both absorption and scattering mechanisms rather than charge re-distribution or local variation of bandgap.
In order to obtain effective utilization of intensifying screens[$CaWO_4(W),\;Gd_2O_2S:Tb(Gd)$, BaFCl : Eu(Ba)] over the diagnostic radiology range, we calculated absorption coefficient (${\mu}$), absorption efficiency (${\eta}_{\alpha}$) and absorbed energy ratio(R) and analyzed effects of these properties on X-ray image, finally concluded as below. Regardless of presence of contrast media, absorption coefficient of Gd the highest and decreased with increase of thickness and kVp. Absorption efficiency related with absorbance of fluorescent materials showed the highest value for the Gd, and discontinuous points exhibited at around $80{\sim}90\;kVp$ and $90{\sim}100kVp$ for the Ba and the Gd, respectively. Furthermore, the absorbed energy ratio(R) correspond to contrast of reflection showed the largest value for the W in the absence of contrast media, and for the Gd in the case of the existence of it, and the ratio was decreased with increasing of incident energy. Owing to these properties, we assumed that it was more preferable to use rare earth type intensifying screen for the radiography using in the C.M.(I, Ba), while in the general radiography, $CaWO_4$ intensifying screen was applicable.
Photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectroscopy studies were performed for anodically etched porous Zn, which exhibited a PL in the blue/violet spectral range peaking at 420 nm (2.95 eV), and oxidzed porous Zn at 380$^{\circ}C$ for 10 min and 12 h. A broad absorption band was observed at 4.07 eV (305 nm), 3.49 (355 nm) for anodically etched porous Zn. In contrast, both the oxidized porous Zn and sintered ZnO exhibited an almost identical one broad absorption band at 3.85 eV (322 nm), when PLE spectra were measured at 378 nm (3.28 eV). The oxidized porous Zn and sintered ZnO, which displayed both UV and green luminescence band, showed an additional absorption band at 389 nm (3.19 eV) and 467 nm (2.66 eV). In contrast, no significant absorption band was detected for a 10-min oxidized porous Zn, which only displayed one UV luminescence void of deep-level luminescence. These absorption bands determined by PLE studies enabled a clear understanding of an emission mechanism for the UV and green luminescence from ZnO.
CT(Computed Tomography) contrast agents are commonly used in general hospitals and university hospitals when taking radiographic examinations. The CT contrast medium contains a mixture of a substance called "Iodine", which absorbs radiation energy and makes it appear white in the CT image, further improving the image quality. In addition, the CT contrast agent, which moves like blood in the blood vessels, clearly differentiates it from muscle and water, so CT contrast agents are widely used in hospitals. These CT contrast agents absorb X-rays, but in order to absorb X-rays, they must have a high density or a high radiation absorption coefficient. Since the CT contrast agent is injected into the blood vessels, if the density is high, the blood vessels are strained and the patient is in shock. For this reason, it is necessary to match the density similar to that of water and always pay attention to side effects. In addition, the amount of CT contrast medium is adjusted according to the patient's body shape, and the remaining contrast medium is discarded. However, This study tried to find out the idea of recycling it as a radiation shielding material. Since the CT contrast medium has a high radiation absorption coefficient at a density similar to that of water, the amount to absorb radiation is adjusted, the amount of contrast medium and the amount of water are adjusted, and the amount of radiation absorbed is determined by mixing with water. In addition, a study was conducted to find out the result of the difference in radiation absorption in various ways by comparing the radiation quality coefficient and absorption coefficient with other substances or materials in an environmentally friendly method harmless to the human body by mixing CT contrast medium and water.
Amphiphilic porphyrin derivatives have been synthesized and characterized by $^1H$ NMR and MALDI-TOF-MS. All porphyrin derivatives showed very high solubility to aqueous medium as well as hydrophobic organic solvent. The UV-vis absorption of the porphyrin derivatives showed significant broadness and decrease of maximum intensity of absorption in aqueous solution. SEM experiment showed the formation of spherical micellar structure. The $T_1$ relaxation time of aqueous medium was drastically decreased in the presence of Mn(III)-porphyrin derivative, indicating that the supramolecular micelle has strong possibility to use as a $T_1$ contrast agent.
The objective of this study was to determine the influence of drug lipophilicity on the extent of ocular and systemic absorption following topical solution instillation in the pigmented rabbit. ${\beta}-Blockers$ of various lipophilicity were chosen as model drugs, $25\;{\mu}l$ of a 15 mM drug solution in isotonic pH 7.4 buffer was instilled, and ocular tissue and plasma drug concentrations were monitored. Ocular absorption was apparently increased in all eye tissues, but non-corneal absorption ratio was decreased by increasing of drug lipophilicity. Systemic bioavailability was ranged from 61% for atenolol to 100% for timolol, and at least 50% of the systemically absorbed drug reached the blood stream from the nasal mucosa. Occluding the nasolacrimal duct for 5 min reduced the extent of systemic absorption of timolol and levobunolol, but did not do so for atenolol and betaxolol. Taken together, the ocular absorption of topically applied ophthalmic drugs would be modest for lipophilic drugs. By contrast, the systemic bioavailability would be modest for drugs at the extremes of lipophilicity, and the nasal contribution to systemically absorbed drug diminished with increasing of drug lipophilicity.
Effects of Gamma camera imaging on gamma ray counting rates as a function of use and density of the iodine contrast medium currently in primary use for clinics, and changes in gamma ray counting rates as a function of the contrast medium status upon attenuation correction using a CT absorption coefficient in an SPECT/CT attenuation correction will be considered herein. For experimental materials used $^{99m}TcO_4$ 370 MBq and Pamiray 370 mg, Iomeron 350 mg, Visipaque 320 mg, Bonorex 300 mg of iodine contrast medium. For image acquisition, planar imaging was consecutively filmed for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 min, respectively, 30 min after administration of $^{99m}TcO_4$. while 60 views were filmed per frame for 20 min at 55 min for the SPECT/CT imaging. In planar imaging, the gamma ray counting rates as a function of filming time were reduced showing a statistically significant difference when mixed according to the type of contrast medium density rather than when the radioactive isotope $^{99m}TcO_4$ and the saline solution were mixed. In the tomography for mixing of the radioactive isotope $^{99m}TcO_4$ and saline solution, the mean counting rate without correction by the CT absorption coefficient is $182{\pm}26counts$, while the counting rate with correction by the CT absorption coefficient is $531.3{\pm}34counts$. In the tomography for mixing of the radioactive isotope $^{99m}TcO_4$ and the saline solution with the contrast medium, the mean values before attenuation correction by CT absorption coefficient were $166{\pm}29$, $158.3{\pm}17$, $154{\pm}36$, and $150{\pm}33counts$ depending on the densities of the contrast medium, while the mean values after attenuation correction were $515{\pm}03$, $503{\pm}10$, $496{\pm}31$, and $488.7{\pm}33counts$, showing significant differences in both cases when comparatively evaluated with the imaging for no mixing of the contrast medium. Iodine contrast medium affects the rate of gamma ray. Therefore, You should always be preceded before another test on the day of dignosis.
