When it comes to naval surface warfare, the probability of detection is an important factor in survivability and the Radar Cross Section(RCS) is a major parameter. In this paper, the RCS reduction technology of the Radar Absorbing Material(RAM) method is carried out for the general frequency range for naval warfare. We set the analysis model with the simplified ship model and the wide band metamaterial which is high-tech radar absorbing materials is selected for the RAM method. The modeling of the wide band metamaterial composed of an MIK surface which has the wide band resonant properties and flexible substance and the electromagnetic absorptions and reflections of the wide band metamaterial has been simulated to explore the performance. Also, the wide band metamaterial is compared with the paint absorber to analyze RCS reduction in terms of RCS values.
On this study, to develop the impact absorbing system for spreader, we operated the dynamic response for models of three types consisting of spring and oil damper by the finite element analysis. Also, in the three types of impact absorbing system, we set the restricted stroke of piston to the static variables and the optimum design was operated to have the minimum value of the reaction force for the impact. As the result, the direct model of two degree of freedom system has lowest value, the model of one degree of freedom system has higher value than that and the parallel model of two degree of freedom system has the highest value. And we studied the effect that the change of spring constant and damping coefficient affect to the reaction force and as the result of the optimum design, we found that reaction force has the lowest value in the each of models.
In this paper, we study the long-time dynamical behavior for the extensible suspension bridge equations with past history. We prove the existence of the global attractors by using the contraction function method. Furthermore, the regularity of global attractor is achieved.
In this paper, the main purpose is to study existence of the global attractors for the weakly damped wave equation with nonlinear boundary conditions. To this end, we first show that the existence o a bounded absorbing set by the perturbed energy method. Secondly, we utilize the decomposition of the solution operator to verify the asymptotic compactness.
In this paper, we consider the convective Cahn-Hilliard equation. Based on the regularity estimates for the semigroups, iteration technique and the classical existence theorem of global attractors, we prove that the convective Cahn-Hilliard equation possesses a global attractor in $H^k$($k\geq0$) space, which attracts any bounded subset of $H^k({\Omega})$ in the $H^k$-norm.
In this study, we developed honeycomb pads using foam and polymer gel and verified the impact protection performance of pads for the development of a fall protection pants for elderly women aged 65 and over who have a high risk of fracture due to falls. The results are as follows; In the first experiment, the impact protection performance was evaluated for four honeycomb pad samples (CR foam, EPDM foam, hardness 15 polymer gel, and hardness 30 polymer gel) manufactured to a thickness of 5 mm using a single material. When the force of about 10757N was applied to the specimens, all four pads reduced the impact force to 3100N or less. Polymer gels showed better protection than foam materials. In the second experiment, the thickness of the protective pad was set to 8 mm in order to improve the shock absorbing performance of the protective pad. As a result of evaluating the impact protection performance of the foam single pad and foam gel composite pad, the impact absorbing performance of the foam single pad was better. Finally, four kinds of protection pads were made by assigning the foam single pad and the foam gel composite pad to pants type and underwear type respectively. The pad thickness of the main protection area was set to 8 mm to enhance the protection, and gradually decreased to 5mm and 3mm toward the edge to improve the appearance and fit.

Pneumatic cylinder is widely used fur mechanical handling systems. Often, the impact occurs at the both ends points of pneumatic cylinder and generates the destructive shock with in the structural operating members of the machine or equipment. To reduce the damage of system, therefore, shock absorbing devices are required. Cushioning of pneumatic cylinders at one or both ends of piston stroke is used to reduce the shock and vibration. The cylinder body have to withstand under conditions of high velocity and load. In this research pneumatic cushioning cylinder moving tests have been conducted for different load mass and supply pressure. The velocity of pneumatic cylinder actuation system which is set vertically with multiple orifice cushion sleeve is controled with the meter-in/out control system. This study examines the dynamic characteristics of pneumatic cylinder which are used as cushion devices. It turns out that the cushion pressure is mainly a function of the external load rather than the supply pressure. The cushion region characteristics was also revealed in the meter-in control system.

PURPOSES : To investigate the fundamental characteristics of blast-furnace slag mortar that was hardened with activating chemicals to capture and sequester carbon dioxide. METHODS : Various mix proportions were considered to find an appropriate stregnth development in regards with various dosages of activating chemicals, calcium hydroxides and sodium silicates, and curing conditions, air-dried, wet and underwater conditions. Flow characteristics was investigated and setting time of the mortar was measured. At different ages of 3, 7 and 28days, strength development was investigated for all the mix variables. At each age, samples were analyzed with XRD. RESULTS : The measured flow values showed the mortar lost its flowability as the activating chemicals amount increased in the scale of mole concentration. The setting time of the mortar was relatively shorter than OPC mortar but the initial curing condition was important, such as temperature. The amount of activating chemicals was found not to be critical in the sense of setting time. The strength increased with the increased amount of chemicals. The XRD analysis results showed that portlandite peaks reduced and clacite increased as the age increased. This may mean the $Ca(OH)_2$ keeps absorbing $CO_2$ in the air during curing period. CONCLUSIONS : The carbon capturing and sequestering activated blast-furnace slag mortar showed successful strength gain to be used for road system materials and its carbon absorbing property was verified though XRD analysis.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the ground reaction force of arm landing on arm and leg during sports aerobics. Subjects of this study were total 10 players of 5 males and 5 females who have are domain sports aerobics medalists more than the third place in national tournaments. The subjects jumped between the two ground reaction force analyzers, while landing their right hand on the front platform(#1) and their right leg on the rear platform(#2), and the data frequency was set to 200Hz. Findings of this study are as follows; More than 3 times of impact peak force of vertical reaction force acted on arm joint than on leg joint. And, when ground reaction force on foot increased, ground reaction force on hand decreased. 3 impact peaks of curve of ground reaction force were found - Impact Peak 1 incurred on the time the palm lands on the ground, Impact Peak 2 absorbing shock secondarily on wrist joint, and Active Peak incurred on the time of holding the weight while pushing out the severly bent elbow joint.
The reflection coefficient of a material at oblique incidence is measured in a free field. The sound pressure distributions are measured at discrete points on two measurement lines and then decomposed into plane wave components by using spatial Fourier transform. The inciedent and reflected plane wave components are obtained from a set of "decomposition equations" of which uses the plane wave propagation theory. Numerical simulations and experiments have been performed to see the effect of finite size of measurement area. To reduce this effect, a window fuction has been performed to see the effects of finite size of mesurement area. To reduce this effect, a window function has been proposed and its effect on the measurement of sound absorbing material property has been studied as well. The reflection coefficient obtained by this method is compared with those obtained from other methods; 2-microphone method in a duct and an expirical equation of which determines the characteristic impedance .rho.c and propagation constant k of a material from flow resistance information.formation.
