This paper studies a multirate sampled-data control for LTI systems by using the digital redesign (DR) method. In this note, to well tackle the problem associated with both the state matching and the stabilization, our nobel strategy is to minimize the linear quadratic cost function. The main features of the proposed method are that i) the delta-operator-based descretization method is applied to improve the state-matching performance in the fast sampling limit and/or the large input multiplicity; ii) the proposed multirate control scheme can improve the state-matching performance in the long sampling limit; iii) some sufficient conditions that guarantee the stability of the closed-loop discrete-time system and provide a guarantee cost for the cost function can be formulated in the LMIs format; and iv) an optimal sampled-data controller in the sense of minimizing the upper bound of the cost function is also given by means of an LMI optimization procedure.
This paper investigates improved stability and stabilization criteria for sampled-data control systems. By using a suitable and newly constructed augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and some recent mathematic techniques such as auxiliary function-based integral inequalities, sufficient conditions for stability and stabilization conditions are derived within the framework of linear matrix inequalities(LMI) form. The superiority and validity of the proposed results are illustrated by three numerical examples.
A novel and simple algorithm for accurate calculation of RMS voltage is proposed in a digitally controlled grid-tie inverter system. Given that the actual frequency of grid voltage is continuously changing, the constant sampling frequency cannot be a multiple number of the fundamental frequency. Therefore, the RMS of grid voltage contains periodic oscillations due to the differences in the phase angle of sampled data during calculation. The proposed algorithm precisely calculates and updates the initial phase angle of the first sampled voltage in a half-cycle period using phase-locked loop, which is commonly utilized for phase angle detection in grid-tie inverter systems. The accuracy and dynamic performance of the proposed algorithm are compared with those of other algorithms through various simulations and experiments.
An adaptive fuzzy system can efficiently classify subimages into four categories according to image activity level for image data compression. The system estimates fuzzy rules by clustering input-output data generated from a given adaptive transform image coding process. The system encodes different images without modification and reduces side information when encoding multiple images. In the second part, a fuzzy system estimates optimal bit maps for the four subimage classes in noisy channels assuming a Gauss-Markov image model. The fuzzy systems respectively estimate the sampled subimage classification and the bit-allocation processes without a mathematical model of how outputs depend on inputs and without rules articulated by experts.
This paper presents a novel control technique to deal with networked control systems with neutral timedelay, which is known to highly degrade the control performance of the controlled system. The stability analysis and design method for a sampled-data fuzzy controller for discrete networked control systems (NCS). The neutral time-delay and sampling activity will complicate the NCS. And it make the stability analysis much more difficult than that for a continuous-time NCS. Based on the fuzzy control approach, linear matrix inequality (LMI)-based stability conditions are derived to guarantee the neutral T-S fuzzy system stability. The simulation results and practical experiments illustrate that the proposed controller design is realistic.

This paper focuses on the $H_{\infty}$ filter design problem for offshore steel jacket platforms. Its objective is to design a full-order state observer for offshore platforms in presence of unknown disturbances. To make the method more practical, it is assumed that the measured variables are available at discrete-time instants with time-varying sampling time intervals. By modelling the sampling intervals as a bounded time-varying delay, the estimation error system is expressed as a time-delay system. As a result, the addressed problem can be transformed to the problem of stability of dynamic error between the system and the state estimator. Then, based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii Functional (LKF), a stability criterion is obtained in the form of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). According to the stability criterion, a sufficient condition on designing the state estimator gain is obtained. In the end, the proposed method is applied to an offshore platform to show its effectiveness.
Digital redesign is yet another efficient tool to convert a pre-designed analog controller into a sampled-data one to maintain the analog closed-loop performance in the sense of state matching. A rising difficulty in developing a digital redesign technique for trackers with time-varying references is the unavailability of a closed-form discrete-time model of a system, even if it is linear time-invariant. A way to resolve this is to approximate the time-varying reference as a piecewise constant one, which deteriorates the state matching performance. Another remedy may be to decrease a sampling period, which however could numerically destabilize the optimization-based digital redesign condition. In this paper, we develop a digital redesign condition for time-varying trackers by approximating the time-varying reference through a triangular hold and by introducing delta-operated discrete-time models. It is shown that the digitally redesigned sampled-data tracker recovers the performance of the pre-designed analog tracker under a fast sampling limit. Simulation results on the formation flying of satellites convincingly show the effectiveness of the development.

The paper explains the method to process, analyze and predict traffic patterns in Los Angeles county using Big Data and Machine Learning. The dataset is used from a popular navigating platform in the USA, which tracks information on the road using connected users' devices and also collects reports shared by the users through the app. The dataset mainly consists of information about traffic jams and traffic incidents reported by users, such as road closure, hazards, accidents. The major contribution of this paper is to give a clear view of how the large-scale road traffic data can be stored and processed using the Big Data system - Hadoop and its ecosystem (Hive). In addition, analysis is explained with the help of visuals using Business Intelligence and prediction with classification machine learning model on the sampled traffic data is presented using Azure ML. The process of modeling, as well as results, are interpreted using metrics: accuracy, precision and recall.
This paper presents the stability analysis and design for a sampled-data fuzzy control system with neutral type of time delay. The sampling activity and neutral type of time delay will complicate the nonlinear system dynamics. And it make the stability analysis much more difficult than that for a continuous-time fuzzy control system. Based on the fuzzy control approach, linear matrix inequality (LMI)-based stability conditions are derived to guarantee the neutral T-S fuzzy system stability. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
