Many automobile assembly workers often do several cycles of tasks continuously, i.e., without breaks, to get a longer break. This is not recommended since the dose of fatigue increases exponetially with time and it takes much longer time to recover. In this study, a laboratory experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of work/rest schedules on workload of a repetitive upper-limb task. Eleven male subjects participated in the experiment, in which simulated screw driving tasks were carried out repetitively with 3 different work/rest schedules: standard breaks(1 cycle of work at a time, 60 20-s breaks), medium breaks(5 cycles of work at a time, 12 100-s breaks), and long breaks(10 cycles of work at a time, 6 200-s breaks). The result showed that medium- and long-breaks schedules significantly increased the level of perceived discomfort and %HRR as compared to the standard-break schedule. The subjects' preference was not statistically different among work/rest schedules, which might be caused from the absolutely low level of workload of the experimental tasks. From the results, it is recommended to have frequent and shorter breaks rather than infrequent and longer breaks to decrease the level of physical workload. A more expanded studies, however, should be carried out to provide more practical safety guidelines on the work practice of continuous working without breaks among automobile assembly workers.
(Resin bonded FPD, Two Key Bridge, Human Bridge without occlusal rest, Human Bridge with occlusal rest)를 제작하였다. 만능 시험기를 이용하여 수직하중을 가하여 실패 시의 최대 하중을 기록하고 실패 유형을 기록하였다. 평균 최대 하중은 Resin bonded FPD 군이 7,295 N, Two Key Bridge 군이 4,729 N, Human Bridge without occlusal rest 군이 2,190 N, Human Bridge with occlusal rest 군이 3,073 N 이었다. Resin bonded FPD, Two Key Bridge, Human Bridge
Objectives The aim of this study is to evaluate effects of hard board applied to acute low back pain patient by using Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Pain Rating Score(PRS). Methods From March. 2005 to October. 2005, 20 cases of acute low back pain were divided into 2 groups in sequence. Control group took a rest on the bed(marble-sponge mattress) and sample group took a rest on the hard board. Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Pain Rating Score(PRS) were used to assess the change of pain. VAS and PRS were checked 3 times before the treatment, after 3day treatment and 6day treatment. Results 1. After 3day and 6day treatment, there was statistical significance between control and sample group by VAS. 2. After 3day and 6day treatment, there was statistical significance between control and sample group by PRS. Conclusions On treating acute low back pain, it is more effective taking a rest on the hard board than taking a rest on the bed. Further study is needed about effects of hard board applied to acute low back pain patient.
The massive limit of black holes (BHs) is observed as present day ten billion solar masses. We search for observational signatures of BHs that become extremely massive (EMBHs, 1-10 billion solar masses). I will report on the evolution of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) through the growth of BH mass and their dust emission strength. First, we measured 26 EMBH masses of quasars at 1
In orthodontic view points, there were a few attempts to describe on the mandibular rest position with roentgenocephalometric studies for the persons with malocclusion. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate and interpret the difference in each of the Angle's classification of the malocclusion. The author has selected 115 malocclusion patients of the both sexes as subjects, whose dental ages were from III A. Two lateral cephalometric head films were taken mandible at rest and with the teeth in occlusion utilizing the Broadbent-Bolton cephalometer. Their linear and angular measurements were made directly. The author obtained the following results: 1) The change in the incisal overbite was of $-2.32\~-3.36mm$, and the overjet decreased similiarly in each class of the malocclusion. 2) The range of free-way space was of $1.97\~3.56mm$, and showed prominent in the Angle's class III malocclusion. 3) In the rest position, the mandible showed backward displacement, and it was prominent in the Angle's class III malocclusion. 4) In the change of Ar-Gn, the class I and II showed more increase of distance-than the class III. 5) In the change of ${\angel}SNL_1L_1'$, the class III showed smaller angle than the class I and II. 6) There was no significant difference between the male and female in each class of the malocclusion.
The current from the feed motor of a machine tool contains substantial information about the machining state. There have been many researches that investigated the current as a measure for the cutting forces. However it has not been reported that indirect measurement of the cutting forces from the current of the feed motor at rest is possible. The cutting force normal to the machined surface influences the machined surface of the workpiece, which makes it necessary to estimate this force to control the roughness of the machined surface. But the unpredictable behavior of the current prevents applying the current to prediction of the cutting state. In this paper, empirical approach was conducted to resolve the problem. Also parametric adaptive and fuzzy logic control strategies are applied to the force regulation problem. As a result, the current is shown to be related to the accumulation of the infinitesimal rotation of the motor, and besides the unpredictable behavior of the current is shown to be caused by the relationship. Subsequently the relationship between the current and the cutting force is identified, and it is presented that control of machined surface using the current of the feed motor at rest is possible.
Most of conventional DSS's(Digital Signage Systems) have been built based on LAMP framework. Recent researches have shown that MEAN or MERN stack framework is simpler, more flexible, faster and more suitable for web-based application than LAMP stack framework. In this paper, we propose a design and implementation of MEARN (ME(A+R)N) stack-based real-time digital signage system, MR-DSS, which supports handing real-time tasks like urgent/instant messaging, system status monitoring and so on, efficiently in addition to conventional digital signage CMS service tasks. MR-DSCMS, CMS of MR-DSS, is designed to provide most of its normal services by REST APIs and real-time services like urgent/instant messaging by Socket.IO base under MEARN stack environment. In addition to architecture description of components composing MR-DSS, design and implementation issues are clarified in more detail. Through experimental testing, it is shown that 1) MR-DSS works functionally well, 2) the networking load performance of MR-DSCMS's REST APIs is better compared to a well-known open source Xibo CMS, and 3) real-time messaging via Socket.IO works much faster than REST APIs.
Mandibular rest position is very essential position because in that position, masticatory muscularture can be reciprocally coordinative and unstrained. So obtaining a good ability to establish and maintain rest position in non-functioning state is mandatory for treatment of patient with craniomandibular disorders. In general, many types of mandibulr movement exercise start from rest position and use the sense of muscle relearning, that is, muscle smoothness and relaxation, throughout the exercise period. In this study, 44 normal subjects for control group and 37 patients with craniomandibular disorders for experimental group participated and they were classified into 3 subgroups, respectively. One method to guide mandibular rest position was used for one subgroup, so theree methods were used for this study, 1)self-guided rest position without any education, 2) guided by Rocabado's tongue rest position, 3) guided through swallowing after Dawson's centric relation. To record electromyographic activity, Bioelectric processor EM2 (Myotronics, U.S.A.) was used. The numbers of sessions from start to stable resting electromyographic level and muscle activities in stable state were recorded and two recordings which were first and second, 3 days after first recording, were done, The data were processed with SPSS/PC+package. The obtained results were as follows : 1. Mean number of sessions in second recording were fewer than those in first recording in both groups. In comparison among 3 subgroups, mean number of sessions of subgroup guided through Dawson's method were fewer than those of other groups though it is not statistically significant. 2. There was a difference of mean number of sessions between control and experimental group in first recording, but in second recording there was no difference in any cases. 3. Mean value of muscle activity were generally not different without regard to group and method if once come to stable resting position level. Mean value of muscle activity of guided subgroups showed a tendency of decreasing in second recording than in first recording. However, in self-guided subgroup there was a inconsistent pattern. 4. The amounts of change in session number from first to second recording in control group were fewer than those in experimental group.
This research tried identifying the current status of Gyongrodangs to find solutions to the problems of the oldest old through revitalization of the existing senior centers. With 31 national and public Gyungrodangs in Seocho-gu, Seoul as research subjects, the research contents include a survey of the facilities including main exit doors, living rooms and lounges, kitchens, and rest rooms in the Gyungrodangs by the checklist, and as the research tool a laser finder, measuring tapes, and cameras were used. The checklist was used as the research method to investigate main exit doors, living rooms and lounges, kitchens, and rest rooms. Based on the research results, the following conclusions are presented. The safety-related items of the public Gyungrodang facilities were reaching a critical level. They need to equip emergency exit routes, install exit lights and alarm bells, and teach how to use them. After that, the issue of rest room would be raised; the oldest old had difficulty in using the rest room with no consideration of universal design(UD), so installation of grab bars is needed around toilets, washstands, and urinals. Besides them, although absence of the western style furniture without consideration of users' ages caused inconvenience of using, there are no solutions due to the limited space. Unnecessary equipment such as treadmills which only occupy spaces without users should be thrown away and replaced with the furniture people would use like tables with supplement of furnitures to lie down and rest. Overall, the current Gyongrodang Facilities lack systems and need standardized management, in which the checklist this researcher developed and used in evaluating the present conditions could be recommended. It is expected that the evaluation system of senior centers would be arranged through this checklist, so that systematic service supply could be possible in the better facility environment.
