  • Various navigation systems are integrated with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) to improve navigation performance so that continuous navigation information can be obtained even when navigation performance is degraded or navigation is not available due to the outage of GNSS. Time and cost can be reduced by evaluating performance of the integrated navigation system through Modeling and Simulation (M&S) software prior to the deployment of the integrated navigation system. The measurements of the navigation system should be generated to evaluate performance through of the navigation system M&S software. This paper proposes a method of designing a navigation environment generation module in M&S software of the integrated navigation system. To show applicability of the proposed method to M&S software design of the integrated navigation system, functions are verified through MATLAB. And then visual C++ based M&S software for the integrated navigation system is implemented to check the operation of the navigation environment generation module. The reference trajectory is generated and true measurements of Global Positioning System (GPS), Korea Positioning System (KPS), and enhanced Long range navigation (eLoran) are generated from the reference trajectory. The navigation results obtained from the true measurements are compared with the reference trajectories. The results show that the measurements generated using the design generation module by the proposed method are valid and the navigation environment generation module can be applied to M&S software of the integrated navigation system.

  • We need to check into when a security system is newly developed, we against cyber attack which is expected in real network. However it is impossible to check it under the environment of a large-scale distributive network. So it is need to simulate it under the virtual network environment. SSFNet is a event-driven simulator which can be represent a large-scale network. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the module to simulate security functions. In this paper, we added the IDS module to SSFNet. We implement the IDS module by modeling a key functions of Snort. In addition, we developed some useful functions using Java language which can manipulate easily a packet for network simulation. Finally, we performed the simulation to verify the function if our developed IDS and Packets Manipulation. The simulation shows that our expanded SSFNet can be used to further large-scale security system simulator.

  • This paper focuses on the design for Rx/Tx switch module of GSM(global standard mobile) band, characterization of a miniature, low power and dual-band implementation of the front-end switch module with low-pass filer And the effort to make agreement between the simulated design and the measured data for these solutions takes the place through accumulated design and manufacturing data library. We present the design, modeling and measurement of switch module integrating GSM Rx/Tx switching circuit and LPF(low pass filter) on a LTCC(low temperature co-fired ceramic) substrate. For GSM application, insertion and return loss of the low pass filter designed was less than 0.3 dB which was less than 12.7 dB at 900 MHz. The LTCC switch module contained 10 embedded passives and 3 surface mount components integrated on 4.6$\times$4.8$\times$1.2 mm, 6-layer multi-layer integrated circuit. The insertion loss of switch module measured at 900 MHz was 11 dB. In both of the design approach yielded excellent agreement between measured and simulated results.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the flow characteristics when a staggered hollow fiber membrane module is modeled as a porous medium. The pressure-velocity equation was used for modeling the porous medium, using pressure drop data. In terms of flow characteristics, we compared the case of the "porous medium" when the membrane module was modeled as a porous medium with the case of the "membrane module" when considering the original shape of the membrane module. The difference in pressure drop between the "porous medium" and "membrane module" was less than 0.6%. However, the maximum flow velocity and mean turbulent kinetic energy of the "porous medium" were 2.5 and 95 times larger than those of the "membrane module," respectively. Our results indicate that modeling the hollow fiber module as a porous medium is useful for predicting pressure drop, but not sufficient for predicting the maximum flow velocity and mean turbulent kinetic energy.

  • This paper suggests a new process structuring method, which we call process modularization, for decomposing and grouping activities in a process. Above all, we propose the concept of a module that is a group of activities positioned on the same flow before and after control constructs. Since activities in a module are relatively strongly interrelated with one another, it is important to take into consideration of these together. A design structure matrix (DSM) is used to structure the process because it has a lot of advantages in process modeling and analysis. We developed two algorithms: the restricted topological sorting (RTS) algorithm for ordering activities and the module finding (MF) algorithm for detecting modules in a process, which utilize the DSM. The suggested approach enables a firm's manager to design and analyze the process effectively. We also developed a supporting tool to accelerate the progress of process modularization. The supporting tool aids the process manager in finding the module and understanding the process structure easily. An illustrative example is addressed to show operations of the suggested approach.

  • Conventional solid or surface modeling systems cannot represent both the complete solid model and the abstract model in a unified framework. Recently, non-manifold modeling systems are proposed to solve this problem. This paper describes FlexDesigner, an open kernel system for modeling non-manifold models. It summarizes the data structure for non-manifold models, system design methodology, system modularization, and the typical characteristics of each module in the system. A data structure based on partial-topological elements is adopted to represent the relationship among topological elements. It is efficient in the usage of memory and has topological completeness compared with other published data structures. It can handle many non-manifold situations such as isolate vertices, dangling edges, dangling faces, a mixed dimensional model, and a cellular model. FlexDesigner is modularized hierarchically and designed by the object-oriented methodology for reusability. FlexDesigner is developed using the C++ and OpenGL on both SGI workstation and IBM PC.

  • The current architectural design of unit modular has been based on 2D of CAD program, so unit modular character which needs unit information management, as a dried-member system, has no effect on design process. The purpose of this study is We have developed a suitable BIM design process, according to various works of construction, then tried to contribute to supply and activation of the urban-life-housing based on unit modular. The BIM modeling process based on unit modular has been in order of unit combination with preparing manual classification, and, it has been constructed, at construction site, from housing foundation to roof finish by Bottom-up method. At a manufacturing factory, it has been produced in order of 1) grouping materials and parts, 2) fabricating unit boxes, and 3) interference examination of unit boxes, and each order has been classified as housing structure, architecture, plumbing process separately. At a construction site, the fabrication has been done in order of, like as a real housing construction scenario, 1) RC foundation work 2) unit module job-site-fabrication work, 3) roof truss work, 4) plumbing and HVAC work, and 5) housing interior finish work. After modeling process, the interference examination on each work of construction has finally completed modeling. The Unit modular utilizing BIM modeling can make easy housing maintenance through systematic control with preparing manual of unit module information, and securing accurate and speedy construction information. And it will promote design credibility and create maximum effect of unit modular construction method, such as construction period reduction and upgrade of construction quality, etc., through the computer simulation as real as construction environment in cyber space, and with the interfering examination.

  • A power distribution network (PDN) is a network that provides connection between the voltage source supply and the power/ground terminals of a microprocessor chip. It consists of a voltage regulator module, a printed circuit board, a package substrate, a microprocessor chip as well as decoupling capacitors. For power integrity analysis, the board and package layouts have to be transformed into an electrical network of resistor, inductor and capacitor components which may be expressed using the S-parameters models. This modeling process generally takes from several hours up to a few days for a complete board or package layout. When the board and package layouts change, they need to be re-extracted and the S-parameters models also need to be re-generated for power integrity assessment. This not only consumes a lot of resources such as time and manpower, the task of PDN modeling is also tedious and mundane. In this paper, a block-based PDN modeling is proposed. Here, the board or package layout is partitioned into sub-blocks and each of them is modeled independently. In the event of a change in power rails routing, only the affected sub-blocks will be reextracted and re-modeled. Simulation results show that the proposed block-based PDN modeling not only can save at least 75% of processing time but it can, at the same time, keep the modeling accuracy on par with the traditional PDN modeling methodology.
