  • Reports on population movement(2000-2030) by the National Statistical Office show that the number of elementary school age population will be decreased by 1.4million from 2005 to 2020. It will effect both school size and the policies for school facilities, which have focused on downsizing class as the high standard of OECD nations. As the unfolding evidence is emerging that a number of schools and classes will be emptied out by 2030. This study aims at developing a model for evaluating the validity of school establishment, which would help more reasonable decision-making for new school construction and the class extension in the existing schools. It classifies two different ways in founding a new school - school establishment in a residential developing site and school establishment for solving a overcrowd class. It proposes the assesment items and the methods for evaluating its validity. In the end, it suggests an assesment model which the district educational offices can use in the course of planning the student accomodations to schools and making decisions for new school construction and the class extension in the existing schools. This study would be expected to help the reasonable expenditure for school facilities and to restrict overbuilding of surplus classes.

  • This study aims to propose a framework for evaluating the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) services, based on the concept of AI service impact. It also suggests a model for evaluating this impact and identifies relevant factors and measurement approaches for each item of the model. The study classifies the impact of AI services into five categories: ethics, safety and reliability, compliance, user rights, and environmental friendliness. It discusses these five categories from a broad perspective and provides 21 detailed factors for evaluating each category. In terms of ethics, the study introduces three additional factors-accessibility, openness, and fairness-to the ten items initially developed by KISDI. In the safety and reliability category, the study excludes factors such as dependability, policy, compliance, and awareness improvement as they can be better addressed from a technical perspective. The compliance category includes factors such as human rights protection, privacy protection, non-infringement, publicness, accountability, safety, transparency, policy compliance, and explainability. For the user rights category, the study excludes factors such as publicness, data management, policy compliance, awareness improvement, recoverability, openness, and accuracy. The environmental friendliness category encompasses diversity, publicness, dependability, transparency, awareness improvement, recoverability, and openness. This study lays the foundation for further related research and contributes to the establishment of relevant policies by establishing a model for evaluating the impact of AI services. Future research is required to assess the validity of the developed indicators and provide specific evaluation items for practical use, based on expert evaluations.

  • The purposes of this study are to explore Iceberg(IB) model as a systems thinking analysis tool for high school students, suggest a systems thinking analysis method using rubrics and verify its validity and reliability. For this study, the theoretical basis was examined through literature analysis about IB model and rubrics of evaluating the systems thinking. And 6 high school students participated in IB model activity and were interviewed about polar climate change. In addition, quantitative tests using systems thinking scale were also conducted to support the results of the IB model activity analysis. Data obtained from IB model activity was analyzed by using the rubrics of evaluating system thinking developed by Hung (2008). The analysis results were reviewed by two professors to confirm the validity and reliability. In order to confirm the validity, correlation analysis were performed between the rubrics and the quantitative test results. Finding are as follows: Six students used the IB model to express their systems thinking in detail and the results of the systems thinking analysis of students using rubrics showed a distribution of 17~35 points. Furthermore, the results of correlation analysis between rubrics and systems thinking scale was highly correlated (Pearson product-moment is .856) on significance level from .05. Using the IB model introduced in this study, students express their systems thinking effectively and the results of the systems thinking analysis using IB model is considered to analyze validity and reliability. Based on the results of this study, implication suggests how to study the systems thinking in science education.

  • Recently, number of intentional jamming has increased significantly. If GNSS jammers are activated, user receivers can be largely influenced due to the vulnerable characteristic of the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) signal. When the reception power of the jamming signal and that of the navigation signal are similar, the C/A (Coarse Acquisition) chip delay error can occur in the delay locked loop. To evaluate the jamming effect, a new measurement model is formulated based on previous research works. The new model explains how the jamming to signal ratio affects the ranging measurement accuracy and other parameters. To evaluate the validity of the newly formulated model, the experiment results of the previous research works under actual jamming environment are utilized. By evaluating the consistency of the carrier-to-noise ratio (C/N0) and the position error with the actual jamming environment, the validity of the newly formulated model is verified.

  • Objectives: Recently, subjective career success has been used as a criterion for evaluating career success. The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a simplified subjective career success inventory for dental hygienists. Methods: Subfactors of the subjective career success inventory consisted of career satisfaction, employability, and job satisfaction. The validity and reliability of the existing tools were evaluated through the basic items composition, content validity index (CVI), preliminary survey, and main survey process according to dental hygienists. The preliminary survey was composed of 35 questions by verifying the content validity twice from the existing 63 questions, and the main survey was conducted with a total of 12 questions. Samples were conveniently extracted from dental hygienists with a clinical career of ≥3 years and surveyed online from March 12, 2020 to June 30, 2020. Data of 320 people were collected, of which 284 were finally analyzed. The validity and reliability were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 (p<0.05). • Some issues which should be considered in an R&D project selection problem are as follows: First, quantitative analysis on the efficiencies of R&D projects is required to guarantee objective validity in the evaluation of the projects. For this reason, the methodology for selecting R&D projects should be based on mathematical models that perform quantitative analysis. Second, in general there are ordinal factors like Likert-scale in the data for evaluating R&D projects. Previous researches, however, couldn't suggest explicit methods incorporating these ordinal factors into models. Third, for the R&D project selection problems with limited resources like budget, it is necessary to decide the perfect ranking of the all projects. This paper develops a mathematical model that can be applicable to the problems of selecting R&D projects with the previous features. In this paper, we improve the original DEA model for evaluating efficiency to incorporate ordinal factors and suggest a new model which can decide the perfect ranking of all projects by merging the improved DEA model and AHP method. Furthermore a web-based R&D project selection system using the DEA/AHP model suggested in this paper is developed and illustrated.
