Predicting Model for Pore Structure of Concrete Including Interface Transition Zone between Aggregate and Cement Paste

  • This paper proposes a semi analytical model to describe the pore structure of concrete by a set of simple equations. The relationship between the porosity and the microstructure of concrete has been considered when constructing the analytical model. The microstructure includes the interface transition zone (ITZ) between aggregates and cement paste. The predicting model of porosity was developed with considering the ITZ for various mixing of mortar and concrete. The proposed model is validated by the rapid experimental programs. Although the proposed model is semi-analytical and relatively simple, this model could be reasonably utilized for the durability design and adapted for predicting the service life of concrete structures.

  • 식물 병원성 진균인 Rhizoctonia solani에 대한 길항능이 있는 Trichoderma 계열의 미생물 균주를 선별하였다. R. solani의 성장을 저해하는 능력이 우수한 균주를 선별하기 위하여 일차적으로 PDA 평판에서 inhibition zone을 측정하였고, 병원성 진균의 세포벽을 용해시킬 수 있는 세포외 효소인 glucanase 및 chitinase 활성을 분석하였다. 4∼5 mm 이상의 inhibition zone을 보여주었고, glucanase 및 chitinase 활성이 우수한 Trichoderma sp. UK-3와 T. viride 균주들을 선별할 수 있었다.

The space concept makes connection and concentration which uses unit and line for world which becomes accomplished by the network. 도시의 삶의 질을 평가하기 위한 화소기반 기법 (A Pixel-based Assessment of Urban Quality of Life)

  • 소수의 선행연구는 도시의 삶의 질을 평가하기 위해서 구역을 단위로 사회경제적인 자료와 원격탐사자료를 통합하려고 시도했다. 그러나 이러한 구역을 기반으로 한 접근방법은 한 단위구역의 모든 속성이 그 구역 내에서 균등하게 분포되어 있다고 비현실적으로 전제할 뿐만 아니라, 임의적 지역구획문제 (MAUP) 및 화소기반 환경자료와의 통합이 용이하지 않은 점과 같은 심각한 방법론적 어려움을 초래한다. 구역기반 접근방법에 대한 한 가지 대안은 기본적인 공간단위로서 화소를 이용하는 화소기반 접근방법이다. 본 연구에서는 도시의 삶의 질을 평가하기 위해서 GIS에서의 사회경제적인 자료와 원격탐사자료를 연계하기 위한 화소기반 접근방법을 제시하고자 한다. 화소기반 접근방법은 삶의 질을 평가하기 위해서 구역기반의 사회경제적인 자료를 개별 화소들로 더욱 세분화시키려고 밀도 구분도와 공간 내삽법의 원리를 이용하고, 그 세분화된 사회경제적인 자료와 원격탐사자료를 통합한다. 이러한 화소기반 접근방법은 조지아 풀톤 카운티에 대한 사례연구에서 적용되었고, 같은 사례지역에서의 구역기반 접근방법과도 비교되었다. 본 연구에서 도시의 삶의 질을 평가하기 위한 화소기반 접근방법은 구역단위의 사회경제적인 자료의 세분화를 위해서 많은 처리시간을 필요로 하지만, 미시적인 지표의 산출을 용이하게 하고 사회경제적인 자료와 원격탐사자료간의 효율적인 통합과 그러한 자료들의 시각화를 가능하게 하였다. 이러한 점에서, 본 연구는 화소기반 접근방법이 도시 분석에 있어서 새로운 데이터베이스의 구축과 분석능력의 향상에 기여할 수 있다는 가능성을 제시한다.

백령도 해조군집의 종조성과 생물량 (The Macroalgal Community of Bagryoungdo Island in Korea)

  • The seasonal change of algal flora and intertidal community structures of Bagryoungdo Island was investigated at Dumujin from February to November 2006. The description of subtidal algal community was made in October by Scientific SCUBA-diving. The total of 43 species, including 6 Chlorophytes, 6 Phaeophytes, 29 Rhodophytes and 2 sea grasses were identified in this survey. The occurrence of species according to season, listed as follows, 26 species in winter, 34 in spring, 18 in summer and 18 in autumn. Three species, Laminaria japonica, Neorhodomela aculeata and Ulva pertusa were dominant. The algal zonation of intertidal zone was figured out by Porphyra spp., Gloiopeltis furcata, Caulacanthus okamurae, Gelidium divaricatum - Neorhodomela aculeata, Enteromorpha compressa - Ulva pertusa, Dumontia simplex, Laminaria japonica from upper to lower zone. The zonation of subtidal zone was figured out by Ulva pertusa - Laminaria japonica - Zostera marina (sea grass), crustacean red algal population in autumn. The average of biomass of macroalgae was measured as 119.4 g∙dry wt/m2.

혈전용해활성이 우수한 효모의 탐색 (Screening of a New Fibrinolytic Substances-Producing Yeast)

  • 한국 식품연구원에서 분양받은 48종의 효모들의 PD broth 배양 농축물들의 혈전용해활성을 조사하였다. Saccharomyces cerevisiae Y99-7의 PD broth 배양 농축물이 25 mm의 용해환(clear zone)을 보여 가장 높은 혈전용해 활성을 보였다. 또한 선발 효모를 PD broth 배지로 $30^{\circ}C$에서 24 h 배양하였을 때 yeast extract-peptone dextrose 배양농축물 보다 높은 혈전용해활성을 보였다.

페라이트계 스테인리스강의 재현 용접열영향부 열피로 특성 (Thermal Fatigue Properties of Synthetic Beat Affected Zone in Ferritic Stainless Steel)

  • Ferritic stainless steel, which has been used as material for decoration parts in automobile, is recently used as material for the exhaust system due to its good performance at high temperature. To improve the fuel efficiency and purify automotive exhaust gas, it is needed to increase the temperature of exhaust gas. However, it is frequently reported that the rising of the temperature of exhaust gas increases thermal stress at exhaust manifold, which results in thermal fatigue failure in welded joints. Therefore, in this study, effects of chemical composition of steel and welding parameters on thermal fatigue properties of synthetic heat affected zone in ferritic stainless steel have been investigated. It has been found that thermal fatigue life in heat affected zone is affected by bead shape of welded joint and amount of soluble Nb in steel. Especially, Nb-Ti added steel has higher thermal fatigue life in comparison to Nb added steel, which is attributed to difference of precipitation behavior in both steels.

국부 취화부와 용접 잔류응력 효과를 고려한 원자로 출구노즐 용접부의 피로강도 평가 (Fatigue Assessment of Reactor Vessel Outlet Nozzle Weld Considering the LBZ and Welding Residual Stress Effect)

  • The fatigue strength of the welds is affected by such factors as the weld geometry, microstructures, tensile properties and residual stresses caused by fabrication. It is very important to evaluate the structural integrity of the welds in nuclear power plant because the weldment undergoes the most of damage and failure mechanisms. In this study, the fatigue assessments for a reactor vessel outlet nozzle with the weldment to the piping system are performed considering the welding residual stresses as well as the effect of local brittle zone in the vicinity of the weld fusion line. The analytical approaches employed are the microstructure and mechanical properties prediction by semi-analytical method, the thermal and stress analysis including the welding residual stress analysis by finite element method, the fatigue life assessment by following the ASME Code rules. The calculated results of cumulative usage factors(CUF) are compared for cases of the elastic and elasto-plastic analysis, and with or without residual stress and local brittle zone effects, respectively. Finally, the fatigue life of reactor vessel outlet nozzle weld is slightly affected by the local brittle zone and welding residual stresses.
