Effect of Mn Oxides on the Magnetic properties of Mn-Zn Ferrite (가수가 다른 Mn 산화물이 Mn-Zn 페라이트의 자기특성에 미처는 영향)

  • 스위칭 전원에 사용되는 Mn-Zn 페라이트에 대항하는 고성능화의 요구에 부응하기 위해 그 중요한 요인이 되는 기수가 다른 Mn 산화물에 착목하여 그것들을 이용 제작한 Mn-Zn 페라이트의 자기특성 및 결정구조를 정밀하게 조사함과 동시에 그것들의 상관성을 검토하였다. Mn-Zn 페라이트의 소성 분위기의 변경방식은 소성개시에서 종료시까지 질소 분위기, 냉각시부터 질소분위기로 변경, 소성 개시에서 종료시까지 대기중 소성 세가지를 실험하였고, 소성 온도는 115$0^{\circ}C$, 120$0^{\circ}C$, 125$0^{\circ}C$ 130$0^{\circ}C$ 135$0^{\circ}C$ 및 140$0^{\circ}C$의 6종류의 시료를 제작하였다. 이 결과는 Mn-Zn 페라이트의 소성 분위기 및 온도 최적화는 승온 및 온도 유지 단계에서는 대기중으로, 냉각단계에서는 질소가스 분위기로 치환한 것과 소성 온도는 120$0^{\circ}C$ 이다. 이 분위기에서 Mn-Zn 페라이트를 가수를 다르게 하여 시료의 투자율 및 주파수 특성, 코아로스 주파수 의존성, 코아로스 주파수로 나눈값의 주파수 의존성, 스피넬 구조(311)의 면에서의 회절픽, 자화의 온도 의존성을 분석하였다. 이 결과는 Mn$_3$O$_4$를 출발원료로 사용한 Mn-Zn 페라이트가 투자율 및 한계 주파수 모두 뛰어난 특성을 나타내었다.

Influence of MBE Growth Temperature on the Sulfur Compositional Variation Of ZnSSe Epitaxial Layers on GaAs Substrates

  • In this work, we reported the sulfur compositional variation of ZnS$\_$x/Se$\_$1-x/ epitaxial layers with growth temperature and BEP ration of ZnX/Se/)P$\_$ZnS//P$\_$Se/) grown on GaAs substrates by molecular beam epitaxy. The sulfur composition of ZnSSe epitaxial layers was varied sensitively on the growth temperature and show different linear relationship with growth temperature and BEP ration of ZnS/Se(P$\_$ZnS//P$\_$Se/), which revealed -0.107 %$\^{C}$ at (P$\_$ZnS//P$\_$Se/)=0.30 and -0.052 %$\^{C}$ at (P$\_$ZnS//P$\_$Se/)=0.158 rspectively. A reference data for the accurate control of the sulfur composition and the growth of high quality ZnSSe/GaAs epitaxial layers was provided.

Piezoelectric properties of Pb-free BNKT ceramics with ZnO addition (ZnO첨가에 따른 무연 BNKT계 세라믹스의 압전특성)

  • [ $0.96[Bi_{0.5}(Na_{0.84}K_{0.16})_{0.5}TiO_3]+0.04SrTiO_3+0.3wt%Nb_2O_5+0.2wt%La_2O_3+xwt%ZnO$ ], were studied in order to develope the superior piezoelectric properties of Lead-free piezoelectric ceramics. With increasing amount of ZnO addition, density showed the maximum value of 5.79(g/$cm^3$) at 0wt% ZnO addition, and electromechanical coupling factor($k_p$) and dielectric constant decreased, and mechanical quality factor($Q_m$) increased and showed the maximum value of 280 at 0.4wt% ZnO addition.

Desorption Characteristics and Bioavailability of Zn to Earthworm in Mine Tailings (광미내 Zn의 탈착 특성과 지렁이에 대한 생이용성)

  • Sorption and sequential desorption experiments were conducted for Zn using a natural soil (NS) in background status by aging (1, 30 and 100 days). The sorption isotherm showed that Zn had high sorption capacity but low sorption affinity in NS. Sequential desorption was biphasic with appreciable amount of sorbed Zn residing in the desorption-resistant fraction after several desorption steps. The biphasic desorption behavior of Zn was characterized by a biphasic desorption model that includes a linear term to represent labile or easily-desorbing fraction and a Langmuirian-type term to represent desorption-resistant fraction. The biphasic desorption model indicated that the size of the maximum capacity of desorption-resistant fraction ($q^{irr}_{max}$) increased with aging in NS. Desorption kinetics and desorption-resistance of Zn in the soils collected from mine tailings (MA, MB and MC collected from surface, subsurface soils and mine waste, respectively) were investigated and compared to the bioavailability to earthworm (Eisenia fetida). Desorption kinetic data of Zn were fitted to several desorption kinetic models. The ratio ($q_{e,d}/q_0$) of remaining Zn at desorption equilibrium ($q_{e,d}$) to initial sorbed concentration ($q_0$) was in the range of 0.53~0.90 in the mine tailings which was higher than that in NS, except MA. The sequential desorption from the mine tailings with 0.01M Na$NO_3$ and 0.01M $CaCl_2$ showed that appreciable amounts of Zn are resistant to desorption due to aging or sequestration. The SM&T (Standard Measurements and Testing Programme of European Union) analysis showed that the sum of oxidizable (Step III) and residual (Step IV) fractions of Zn was linearly related with its desorption-resistance ($q^{irr}_{max}$) determined by the sequential desorption with 0.01M Na$NO_3$ ($R^2$= 0.9998) and 0.01M $CaCl_2$ ($R^2$= 0.8580). The earthworm uptake of Zn and the desorbed amount of Zn ($q_{desorbed}$ = $q_0-q_{e,d}$) in MB soil were also linearly related ($R^2$ = 0.899). Our results implicate that the ecological risk assessment of heavy metals would be possible considering the relation between desorption behaviors and bioavailability to earthworm.

A Study on Durability of Sprayed Coating Layer in the Molten Zn-0.2% Al Alloy Bath (아연-0.2%알루미늄합금 용융도금액 중에서 용사층의 내구성에 관한 연구)

  • Sink roll has been used in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy bath of continuous galvanizing line in sinking and stabilizing process of the steel strip in molten metal bath. In this process, although the scraper scraps off the sink roll surface, the dross compounds is builded up on the sink roll surface and the life time of the sink roll is shorten by the dross compounds. The present study was investigated the application of the spray coating layer on sink roll body for improving durability In molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy. Through the durability tests in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy with various ceramic and cermet coating layer, the optimum bond and top coating material was obtained. As the results, the system of STS430F base metal, WC-l7Co bond and $ZrO_2-SiO_2$ top coating was clarified to be the best quality of durability in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy.

  • (1-x-y)Pb($Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Ba(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3(0.12{\leq}x{\leq}0.21, 0.24{\leq}y{\leq}0.33$) ternary compound ceramics were fabricated by the mixed oxide method. The sintering temperature and time were 1050 [$^{\circ}C$], 2[hr]. Morphotropic phase boundary region was chosen for the composition. 0.55 PZN-0.21 BZN-0.24 PT specimen had the highest value of relative dielectric constants, 5353. The curie temperature of specimens were increased linearly with PT content. Near the morphotropic phase boundary, electro-mechanical coupoling factor and mechanical quality factor of the specimens had the highest values.

  • We have prepared 20 kinds of Mn-Zn ferrites as content of CaO(0.1 mol%), NiO(0.0~0.60 mol%) and CoO(0.0~0.8 mol%) adding by the coprecipitation method and studied the magnetic properties as content of CaO, NiO and CoO adding. Initial permeability decrease as the content of NiO and CoO adding increases, while Curie tem~ perature increase as the content of NiO and CoO adding increases. $(H_{c})$, $(B_{s})$ and $(W_{h})$ increase as content of NiO adding increases.

  • High density of ZnO nanorods were fabricated by electrochemical deposition and subsequent heat treatment. Formation of $Zn(OH)_2$ and ZnO during electrodeposition indicated that the electrodeposition efficiency of ZnO was below 33%. ZnO rod has a preferential (200) growth plane after heat treatment at $500^{\circ}C$ and the growth rate of ZnO rod was measured to be 0.986 ${\mu}m/hr$. Dye sensitized solar cell(DSC) showed the efficiency of 0.21% when electrochemically prepared ZnO rod was used as an electrode. It suggests the possible application of ZnO rod structure in the DSC.

Separation of Ag and Zn from Nitrate Leachate of Spent Silver Oxide Batteries by Solvent Extraction with Cyanex272 (Cyanex 272를 이용한 폐산화은배터리 침출액으로부터 Ag 및 Zn의 분리)

  • The separation of Ag and Zn from the nitrate leachate of spent silver oxide batteries using Cyanex272 as an extractant was investigated. The extraction of Ag and Zn was affected by the concentrations of nitric acid and the extractant. Cyanex-272 selectively extracted Zn over Ag when the HNO3 concentration was lower than 0.1 mol/L. The co-extracted Ag was removed by stripping with 1 mol/L thiourea. Stripping of Zn from the loaded Cyanex-272 was accomplished using 0.5 mol/L HNO3 after the removal of Ag. The McCabe-Thiele diagrams for the extraction of Zn with Cyanex-272, the scrubbing tripping of Ag with thiourea, and the stripping of Zn with HNO3 were constructed. The results were verified by simulated counter-current extraction and stripping experiments. Finally, a process for the separation of Ag and Zn from silver oxide batteries was proposed.

Power Loss and Electro-Magnetic Characteristics of Ni-Cu-Zn Ferrites (Ni-Cu-Zn페라이트의 損失과 磁性 特性)

  • The power loss analysis was carried out for Ni-Cu-Zn ferrite sample with different content of NiO and ZnO. The power loss, Pcv decreases monotonically with increasing temperature and attains to a certain value at around 100~120 degrees Celsius. The frequency dependence of Pcv can be explained by Pcv~f$^n$, and n is independent of the frequency, f up to 1 MHz. The Pcv decreases with an increase in ZnO/NiO. The Pcv was separated to hysteresis loss(Ph) and residual loss(Pcv-Ph). The temperature characteristics and compositional dependence of Pcv can be attributed to the Ph, while Pcv-Ph is not affected by both temperature and ZnO/NiO. By analyzing temperature and composition dependence of Ph and initial permeability, ${\mu}_i$ like following equations could be formularized. ${\mu}_i{\mu}_0=I_s^2/(K_I+b{\sigma}_0{\lambda}_s)$ Wh=13.5(I$_s^2/{\mu}_i{\mu}_0)$ Where ${\mu}_0$ is permeability of vacuum, I$_s$ is saturation magnetization, K$_I$ is anisotropy constant, $s_0$ is internal heterogeneous stress, ${\lambda}_s$ is magnetostriction constant, b is unknown constant, and Wh is hysteresis loss per one cycle of excitation (Ph=Wh${\times}$f). Steinmetz constant of Ni-Cu-Zn ferrite, m=1.64~2.2 is smaller than that of Mn-Zn ferrites, which suggests the difference of loss mechanisms between these materials.
