Ubiquitous u-Health System using RFID & ZigBee (RFID와 ZigBee를 이용한 유비쿼터스 u-Health 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented ubiquitous u-Health system using RFE and ZigBee. We made a wireless protocol Kit which combines RFE Tag recognition and ZigBee data communication capability. The software is designed and developed on the TinyOS. Wireless communication technologies which hold multi-protocol stacks with RFID and result in the wireless ubiquitous world could be Bluetooth, ZigBee, 802.11x WLAN and so on. The environments that the suggested u-Health system may be used is un-manned nursing, which would be utilized in dense sensor networks such as a hospital. The the size of devices with RFID and ZigBee will be so smaller and smaller as a bracelet, a wrist watch and a ring. The combined wireless RFID-ZigBee system could be applied to applications which requires some actions corresponding to the collected (or sensed) information in WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network) and/or WPAN(Wireless Person Area Network). The proposed ubiquitous u-Health system displays some text-type alert message on LCD which is attached to the system or gives voice alert message to the adequate node users. RFE will be used as various combinations with other wireless technologies for some application-specific purposes.

  • In this paper, we propose an emotion transfer system based on LED, which presents and transmitts users emotion through Bluetooth and ZigBee using LED light. We propose an emotional LED system interacting multiple LED lighting system and implement the proposed system using smartphone and WPAN network with Bluetooth and ZigBee. For the transmission of data, ZigBee is adopted for each LED lighting system and Bluetooth is utilized for the smartphone. Also, the LED lighting systems which are connected to smartphone have both ZigBee and Bluetooth module for the heterogeneous network. The implemented system shows the validity and applicability of the proposed system.

  • Data collection and classification of products for factory automation is one of important processes. If conveyor systems corresponding to factory automation have crossroads, a lot of difficulties arise. These issues can be solved by using Zig-Bee technology capable of network configuration. Network with Zig-Bee is configured to coordinators, routers, and end-device. And Zig-Bee for up to 65,536 network formation is possible. In this paper, system to transmit the data of RFID tag to the host PC has been implemented, after connecting multiple EM4095 RFID system to Zig-Bee transmitter/receiver system.

A Study On Design of ZigBee Chip Communication Module for Remote Radiation Measurement (원격 방사선 측정을 위한 ZigBee 원칩형 통신 모듈 설계에 대한 연구)

  • This paper suggests how to design a ZigBee-chip-based communication module to remotely measure radiation level. The suggested communication module consists of two control processors for the chip as generally required to configure a ZigBee system, and one chip module to configure a ZigBee RF device. The ZigBee-chip-based communication module for remote radiation measurement consists of a wireless communication controller; sensor and high-voltage generator; charger and power supply circuit; wired communication part; and RF circuit and antenna. The wireless communication controller is to control wireless communication for ZigBee and to measure radiation level remotely. The sensor and high-voltage generator generates 500 V in two consecutive series to amplify and filter pulses of radiation detected by G-M Tube. The charger and power supply circuit part is to charge lithium-ion battery and supply power to one-chip processors. The wired communication part serves as a RS-485/422 interface to enable USB interface and wired remote communication for interfacing with PC and debugging. RF circuit and antenna applies an RLC passive component for chip antenna to configure BALUN and antenna impedance matching circuit, allowing wireless communication. After configuring the ZigBee-chip-based communication module, tests were conducted to measure radiation level remotely: data were successfully transmitted in 10-meter and 100-meter distances, measuring radiation level in a remote condition. The communication module allows an environment where radiation level can be remotely measured in an economically beneficial way as it not only consumes less electricity but also costs less. By securing linearity of a radiation measuring device and by minimizing the device itself, it is possible to set up an environment where radiation can be measured in a reliable manner, and radiation level is monitored real-time.

  • Home networking has been noticed as a key technology for the home automation because it is possible to remotely monitor and control the in-house appliances and devices through the network. Wireless home networking method is easily applied to the conventional houses compared to the wired home networking method because of low cost and small effort due to no extra wired works. Especially, home networking using the ZigBee protocol is one of the most attractive technologies in the wireless networking area because of its low cost and low power consumption characteristics. However, there are a lot of practical problems to be solved in implementing the ZigBee module and constructing the wireless network. In this paper, one of the practical structures of the hardware and software modules for implementing the ZigBee protocol is proposed. Moreover, problems in constructing the home networking with the proposed ZigBee module are introduced, and the effective solutions to solve these problems are described through various tests.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT), which has recently attracted attention as next-generation IT industry, is based on a wired and wireless network platform that can connect various Things. However, it is challenging to implement the IoT platform because of the heterogeneity of the network. Particularly, the ZigBee transmission may be significantly harmed due to Wi-Fi with the relatively much higher power, and this is one of the reason making the platform implementation difficult. In this paper, the ZigBee transmission is measured and analyzed by the BEB algorithm for finding the slot time when ZigBee can transmit, and an actual transmission happens stochastically depending on the network environment. The simulation results show that it guarantees high success rate of the ZigBee transmission by overcoming Wi-Fi interference in the 2.4 GHz frequency band.

  • The ZigBee is one of the most important technologies for composing USN. It is one of the IEEE 802.15.4 standards to support personal area networks. It uses a hierarchical routing or an on-demand route discovery strategy as an address allocation method. A hierarchical routing doesn't use a routing table but only uses a child node or a parent node as an intermediate node for data delivery. Therefore, the ZigBee network's topology greatly affects the overall network performance. In this paper, we propose a more trustworthy algorithm than only using the depth and widely variable LQI during network formation, and moreover we propose an algorithm to measure network's trustworthiness. We simulate our algorithm using the NS-2 and implement our network using the MG2400 ZigBee module for verifying performance.

  • 고도의 정보 사회로의 빠른 변화는 통신 기술의 발달과 통신 정보들의 다양함에 있다. 현대 사회에서 이용자들은 기존의 통신 서비스보다 좀 더 복잡한 기능과 편리한 기능 다양한 서비스를 필요로 하고 있다. 최근 전 세계적으로 '언제나 어디서나'라는 뜻을 가진 유비쿼터스 사회를 이루기 위한 근거리 무선 통신에 대해 관심을 많이 가지고 있으며 그에 따라 연구와 개발이 활발히 진행이 되고 있다. 무선통신 환경이 증가하고 무선 네트워크화의 필요와 수요에 따른 차세대 근거리 무선 통신 기술 중 대표적인 ZigBee 통신과 기능검증에 대한 H/W 플랫폼을 설계하고 구현하였으며 실험을 통하여 ZigBee의 전송도달거리와 송수신 속도를 확인하였다. 근거리 무선 통신 중 ZigBee의 특성을 고찰하였고 근거리 무선 통신의 연구 방향에 대해 제시하였다.

  • 무선통신기술의 발전과 전자기술의 발전으로 저가격, 저전력, 다기능 센서 노드로 구성된 무선 센서 네트워크(Wireless Sensor Network)에 대한 관심이 급격히 고조되고 있으며 또한 무선 센서 네트워크를 응용한 서비스들이 많이 개발되고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 ZigBee Device를 이용한 위치추적 시스템을 제안한다. ZigBee Device의 한계 때문에 평상시에 불특정한 넓은 범위를 이동하는 일반인을 대상으로 할 수는 없지만 평상시 고정된 위치를 이동하는 아동이나 노인들을 대상으로 활용할 수 있는 시스템으로써 저렴하면서 효과적으로 구축가능하고 통신 데이터의 무결성과 보안을 제공하는 ZigBee 무선 통신 기술에 기반한 위치파악시스템을 제안하고 설계한다.
