불확실한 선형시스템 고유값 배치의 비대칭 강인한계 (Asymmetric Robustness Bounds of Eigenvalue Distribution for Uncertain Linear Systems)

  • This study deals with robustness bounds estimation for uncertain linear systems with structured perturbations where the eigenvalues of the perturbed systems are guaranteed to stay in a prescribed region. Based upon the Lyapunov approach, new theorems to estimate allowable perturbation parameter bounds are derived. The theorems are referred to as the zero-order or first-order asymmetric robustness measure depending on the order of the P matrix in the sense of Taylor series expansion of perturbed Lyapunov equation. It is proven that Gao's theorem for the estimation of stability robustness bounds is a special case of proposed zero-order asymmetric robustness measure for eigenvalue assignment. Robustness bounds of perturbed parameters measured by the proposed techniques are asymmetric around the origin and less conservative than those of conventional methods. Numerical examples are given to illustrate proposed methods.

  • The mobility and diffusivity in an edge dislocation in an FCC crystal formed by the removal of one half of a (100) plane were evaluated in an applied field by analyzing a vacancy tight binding model using Stark's matrix technique. A model of an edge dislocation in an FCC crystal was constructed for a [100] Burgers vector where vacancy transport along the edge dislocation in an FCC crystal was constructed for a [100] Burgers vector where vacancy transport along the edge of the extrac half plane of ions was considered. The model considered a tight binding approximation of the vacancy to the compressed region of the core and carried the calculation to the limit of an infinite length of dislocation. The diffusivity and the ratio of mobility to diffusivity were found to increase without bounds in the limit where the correlation factor becomes zero. In contrast, as the correlation factor became unity, the diffusivity became zero and the ratio of mobility to diffusivity became unity associated with the uncorrelated limit of 1/kT. This implied that the phenomenon was not unique to the crystal structure but was unique to edge dislocations with vacancy tight binding.

  • Stick-slip friction is present to some degree in almost all actuators and mechanisms and is often responsible for performance limitations. Simulation of stick-slip friction is difficult because of strongly nonlinear behavior in the vicinity of zero velocity. A straightforward method for representing and simulating friction effects is presented. True zero velocity sticking is represented without equation reformulation or the introduction of numerical stiffness problems. Stick-slip motion is investigated experimentally, and the fundamental characteristics of the stick-slip motion are clarified. Based on these experimental results, the characteristics of static in the period of stick and kinetic friction in the period of slip are studied concretely so as to clarify the stick-slip process.

한국어 비음의 음향적 특성에 관한 실험음성학적 연구 (An Experimental Phonetic Study on the Acoustic Characteristics of the Korean Nasal Sound)

  • This study aims to describe the acoustic characteristics of Korean nasal sounds making use of the notion of pole and zero. In case of [m], the 1st and 4th formant almost remains as the original shape respectively, on the contrary, the 2nd and 3rd formant were observed as a variable cluster together. Alveolar [n] shows that the 3rd and 4th formant make a variable cluster with their antiformant(zero), however, the 1st and 2nd formant keep the static shape of their on. Velar [$\eta$] has 4 formants below 2900 Hz and the 3rd and 4th formant constitute a variable cluster together as does the case [n]. With respect to the energy distribution in case of [n] and [$\eta$], the energy value diminishes from Fl up to F3 continuously but augments in F4. The [m] shows that in the region of Fl-F2 does the energy fall down and rise from F3 to above.

  • Longitudinal reinforcements of the plastic hinge region were behaved tensile deformation and compressional deformation by direction of lateral loading. However Confinement steels were behaved only tensile deformation by lateral loading. Transverse steels were laid the state of tension in the lateral loading of time, and they were laid state that stress is zero when it was removed lateral load. Nine specimens were tested under cyclic stresses(tension and zero). The purpose of this research is to investigate the strain behavior and capacity of energy for confinement steel. The selected test variables are $L/d_b(L/d_b=6)$, size of reinforcement and specified yielding strength(300, 400, 500 MPa).

A Numerical Study on the Laminar Flow Field and Heat Transfer Coefficient Distribution for Supercritical Water in a Tube

  • Numerical analysis has been carried out to investigate laminar convective heat transfer at zero gravity in a tube for supercritical water near the thermodynamic critical point. Fluid flow and heat transfer are strongly coupled due to large variation of thermodynamic and transport properties such as density, specific heat, viscosity, and thermal conductivity near the critical point. Heat transfer characteristics in the developing region of the tube show transition behavior between liquid-like and gas-like phases with a peak in heat transfer coefficient distribution near the pseudo critical point. The peak of the heat transfer coefficient depends on pressure and wall heat flux rather than inlet temperature and Reynolds number. Results of the modeling provide convective heat transfer characteristics including velocity vectors, temperature, and the properties as well as the heat transfer coefficient. The effect of proximity on the critical point is considered and a heat transfer correlation is suggested for the peak of Nusselt number in the tube.

RELIABILITY OF NUMERICAL SOLUTIONS OF THE G-EULER PROCESS

  • The G-Euler process has been proposed to overcome the difficulties of the calculation of the exponential function of the Jacobian. It is an explicit method that uses the exponential function of the scalar skew-symmetric matrix. We define the moving shapes of true solutions and the moving shapes of numerical solutions. It is discussed whether the moving shape of the numerical solution matches the moving shape of the true solution. The match rates of these two kinds of moving shapes are sequentially calculated by the G-Euler process without using the true solution. It is shown that the closer the minimum match rate is to 100%, the more closely the numerical solutions follow the true solutions to the end. The minimum match rate indicates the reliability of the numerical solution calculated by the G-Euler process. The graphs of the Lorenz system in Perko [1] are different from those drawn by the G-Euler process. By the way, there is no basis for claiming that the Perko's graphs are reliable.

활성 영역에 따른 웨이브렛 영상 부호화 (Wavelet Image Coding according to the Activity Regions)

  • 본 논문에서는 공간 영상의 특성과 웨이브렛 변환 사이의 상관 관계를 이용한 새로운 영상 부호화 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 먼저 윈 영상을 2ⁿ×2ⁿ 크기의 블록으로 분할 한 후, 각 블록의 표준편차에 따라 변화가 없는 활성 영역(LAR)과 변화가 큰 활성 영역(HAR)으로 분류한다. 공간영역에서 저주파수 영역은 웨이브렛 변환 대역에서 zero region으로 나타나며, 영상의 복원에 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 특성을 가지고 있다. 반면, 고주파수 영역은 영상의 복원에 있어 큰 영향을 미치는 중요계수와 관련이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 특성들을 이용하여 낮-은 비트율에서도 높은 압축률을 얻을 수 있는 부호화 기법을 제안한다. 영상 부호화를 위해 저주파수 영역은 본 논문에서 제안한 LAR 부호화 기법을 적용하고 고주파수 영역의 효율적인 부호화를 위해 계층적 트리에서 비트플레인 부호화 방식과 유사한 형태의 방법을 제안하고 이를 적용하였다. 실험결과 제안한 부호화 기법은 EZW 및 SPIHT 방식에 비해 복원화질 및 전송 비트율 모두 좋은 결과를 나타냄을 확인하였으며 점진적 전송이 요구되는 분야에 적용될 수 있을 것으로 예상한다.

외삽법과 고주파 영차홀드 출력이 포함된 가상 스프링 모델의 안정성 영역 분석 (Stability Analysis for a Virtual Spring Model with an Extrapolation and High-frequency ZOH)

  • 가상환경에 대한 현실감을 증강시키기 위해서는 햅틱 시스템의 안정성을 유지하면서 가상환경 모델의 강성을 최대한 크게 할 수 있는 방법이 필요하다. 이에 기존 연구에서 영차홀드 대신 일차홀드를 적용하는 방법이 제시되었고, 영차홀드를 이용할 때보다 가상 스프링의 안정성 영역을 더 크게 확보할 수 있음을 시뮬레이션을 통해 제시했다. 그렇지만 실제로 시스템을 구현하는 측면에서 보면, 영차홀드가 일반적이고 손쉬운 방법이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 영차홀드를 사용하지만, 일차홀드와 동등한 안정성 영역을 확보하기 위한 방법으로 외삽법과 고주파 영차홀드 출력 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에 대한 시뮬레이션을 통해 고주파 영차홀드의 샘플링 주기가 작아질수록 가상 스프링의 안정성 영역이 일차홀드를 적용한 경우와 거의 같아짐을 보였고, 기존 연구에서 제시된 영차홀드만을 적용한 경우보다는 수 배에서 수십 배 안정성 영역이 더 커질수 있음을 보였다. 따라서 제안된 방법을 통해 가상 환경 속 강체에 대한 현실감을 증강시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • The inverse Compton scattering of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation with electrons in the intracluster medium which has a temperature gradient, was examined by the third-order perturbation theory of the Compton scattering. A new type of the spectrum distortion of the CMB was found and named as gradient T Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect (gradT SZE). The spectrum has an universal shape. There is a zero distortion point, the cross over frequency, at 326GHz. When the hotter region locates closer to an observer, the intensity becomes brighter than the CMB in the frequency region lower than the cross over frequency and fainter than the CMB in the frequency region higher than the cross over frequency. When the cooler region locates closer to an observer, the distorted part of the spectrum has an opposite sign to the above case. The amplitude of the spectrum distortion does not de-pend on the electron density and depends on the heat conductivity and the total temperature variation along a line of sight. Therefore, the gradT SZE provides an unique opportunity to measure thermally nonequilibrium electron momentum distribution function in the ICM and combined with the X-ray measurements of the electron temperature distribution provides an opportunity of direct measurement of the heat conductivity in the ICM.
