As a solution to the wasteful consumption of resources in fashion design, this research aims to develop a process guideline for ZWF Design Methods from an educational perspective. After selecting the Jigsaw Puzzle, Subtraction Cutting, and Layer Methods as representative ZWF Methods, an application experiment was designed to deduct each Method's process, characteristics, needs, and improvement points. Its results were analyzed through action protocol analysis, expert evaluation, and qualitative analysis. Based on the analysis, this research proposed a ZWF guideline and a step-by-step guide suitable to the students' needs. By following the guideline, students can use the chosen ZWF Method to create a planned or an accidental design. In addition, they can practice ZWF effectively step by step in the order of Layer, Jigsaw Puzzle, and Subtraction Cutting. Thus, this research can provide the basis for ZWF education, which can lead to expanded application of ZWF in the future and reduce textile waste.
Using a mathematical theory, we show that the optimality condition of a turbulent diffuser with maximum pressure recovery at the exit is zero shear stress along the wall. The optimal diffuser shape is designed through iterative procedures by using the $k-{\varepsilon}-{\nu}^{2}-f$ turbulence model for flow simulation. The Reynolds number based on the bulk mean velocity and the channel height at the diffuser entrance is 18,000. We also perform large eddy simulation to validate the shape design results and investigate the flow characteristics near the zero-skin friction wall. Results from large eddy simulation show that the skin friction is slightly higher than zero but is still very small as compared to that of the flat plate boundary layer flow Although the time-averaged wall shear stress is slightly above zero along the diffuser wall, instantaneous flow reversals occur intermittently. The streamwise mein velocity shows an asymptotic behavior of the half-power-law near the wall where the skin friction is close to zero.
The BiPbSrCaCuO superconductor was fabricated by diffusion of The dual layer composed of SrS12TCaS11TCuS12TOS1xT in upper layer and BiS12TPbSI0.3TCuS12TOS1yT in lower layer, and varified growh-mechanism of BiPbSrCaCuO superconducting phase. And, we produced optimum conditions of spread volume and each stage of sintering time were upper layer:Lower layer=1:0.2, 1:0.4, 1:0.6 and 24hr., 120hr., 210hr. From the result, the optimum conditions are spread volume(Upper layer:Lower layer=1:0.6), sintering time(210hrs.) at 820$^{\circ}C$.The BiPbSrCaCuO superconductor, fabricated optimum condition, showed zero resistance at critical temperature of 70k.
The sliding-belt concept introduced by Bechert et al. (AIAA J., Vol. 34, pp. 1072~1074) is numerically applied to a turbulent boundary layer flow for the skin-friction reduction. The sliding belt is moved by the shear force exerted on the exposed surface of the belt without other dynamic energy input. The boundary condition at the sliding belt is developed from the force balance. Direct numerical simulations are performed for a few cases of belt configuration. In the ideal case where the mechanical losses associated with the belt can be ignored, the belt velocity increases until the integration of the shear stress over the belt surface becomes zero, resulting in zero skin friction on the belt. From practical consideration of losses occurred In the belt device, a few different belt velocities are given to the sliding belt. It is found that the amount of drag reduction is proportional to the belt velocity.
In this paper, the current lead for superconducting device is studied by numerical method. The current lead is cooled by surrounded $N_{2}$ gas by natural convection. The heat conduction equation for current lead and boundary layer equation for $N_{2}$ gas must be solved simultaneously. The boundary layer equation for $N_{2}$ gas is highly nonlinear for varied temperature of current lead. So the linearization method is adopted for simplicity. Numerical results using natural convection cooling are compared with the conventional cooling methods such as conduction cooling and vapor cooling methods. The main difference of natural convection cooing is the non-zero temperature gradient at the top of current lead for the minimum heat dissipation into superconducting devices. For the optimized conduction-cooling and vapor-cooling current leads, the temperature gradient at the top of current lead is zero. Also, the heat flow at the cold end is much smaller than conduction cooling case.
This paper describes a new technique for thickness measurement of a very thin layer less than one-quarter of the wavelength of ultrasonic wave used in the ultrasonic pulse-echo measurements. The technique determines the thickness of a thin layer in a tapered medium from constructive interference of multiple reflection waves. The interference characteristics are derived and investigated in theoretical and experimental approaches. Modified total reflection wave g(t) defined as difference between total and first reflection waves increases in amplitude as the interfacial layer thickness decreases down to zero. A layer thickness less than one-tenth of the ultrasonic wavelength is measured using the maximum amplitude of g(t) with a good accuracy and sensitivity. The method also requires no inversion process to extract the thickness information from the waveforms of reflected waves, so that it makes possible to have the on-line thickness measurement of a thin layer such as a lubricating oil film in thrust bearings and journal bearings during manufacturing process.
The computational complexity of a sphere decoder (SD) is conventionally reduced by decoding order scheme which sorts candidate symbols in the ascending order of the Euclidean distance from the output of a zero-forcing (ZF) receiver. However, since the ZF output may not be a reliable sorting reference, we propose two types of sorting schemes to allow faster decoding. The first is to use the newly found lattice points in the previous search round instead of the ZF output (Type I). Since these lattice points are closer to the received signal than the ZF output, they can serve as a more reliable sorting reference for finding the maximum likelihood (ML) solution. The second sorting scheme is to sort candidate symbols in descending order according to the number of candidate symbols in the following layer, which are called child symbols (Type II). These two proposed sorting schemes can be combined with layer sorting for more complexity reduction. Through simulation, the Type I and Type II sorting schemes were found to provide 12% and 20% complexity reduction respectively over conventional sorting schemes. When they are combined with layer sorting, Type I and Type II provide an additional 10-15% complexity reduction while maintaining detection performance.

Environmentally friendly refrigerants with zero ozone layer depletion potential are required to be used in refrigerators and air conditioners due to the difficulties related to ozone layer depletion and global warming. A rigorous study for the system performance with new refrigerants having zero ozone layer depletion potential is inevitable before adopting that as a new fluid. The HFC(Hydrofluorocarbon) potential has been recommended as alternatives. In this paper. system performance in the heat pump facilities were studied using R-290, R-600a. R-1270 as an environment friendly refrigerant. R-22 as a HCFC's refrigerant. The experimental apparatus has been set-up as a conventional vapor compression type heat Pump system. The test section is a horizontal double pipe heat exchanger. A tube diameter of 12.70mm with 1.315mm wall thickness is used for this investigation. The test results showed that the COP of hydrocarbon refrigerants were superior to that of R-22 and the maximum increasing rate of COP was found in R-1270. The refrigeration capacity of hydrocarbon refrigerants were higher than that of R-22. The compressor work was obtained with the maximum value in R-1270 and the minimum one in R-22.
The enhancement of the service life of damaged or cracked structures is a major issue for researchers and engineers. The hierarchical void element with the integrals of Legend polynomials is used to characterize the fracture behavior of unpatched crack as well as repaired crack with bonded composite patches by computing the stress intensity factors and stress contours at the crack tip. The numerical approach is based on the v-version degenerate shell element including the theory of anisotropic laminated composites. Since the equivalent single layer approach is adopted in this study, the proposed element is necessary to represent a discontinuous crack part as a continuum body with zero stiffness of materials. Thus the aspect ratio of this element to represent the crack should be extremely slender. The sensitivity of numerical solution with respect to energy release rate, displacement and stress has been tested to show the robustness of hierarchical void element as the aspect ratio is increased up to 2000. The stiffness derivative method and displacement extrapolation method have been applied to calculate the stress intensity factors of Mode I problem.
The switching characteristics and the magnetization-flop behavior in magnetic tunnel junctions exchange biased by synthetic antiferromagnets (SyAFs) are investigated by using a computer simulations based on a single-domain multilayer model. The bias field acting on the free layer is found to be sensitive to the thickness of neighboring layers, and the thickness dependence of the bias field is greater at smaller cell dimensions due to larger magnetostatic interactions. The resistance to magnetization flop increases with decreasing cell size due to increased shape anisotropy. When the cell dimensions are small and the synthetic antiferromagnet is weakly, or not pinned, the magnetization directions of the two layers sandwiching the insulating layer are aligned antiparallel due to a strong magnetostatic interaction, resulting in an abnormal magneto resistance (MR) change from the high-MR state to zero, irrespective of the direction of the free-layer switching. The threshold field for magnetization-flop is found to increase linearly with increasing antiferromagnetic exchange coupling in the synthetic antiferromagnet. Irrespective of the magnetic parameters and cell sizes, magnetization flop does not exist near zero applied field, indicating that magnetization flop is driven by the Zeeman energy.
