  • The Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS) for synthesizing ($Mo_{1-z}$ , $W_{z}$)$Si_2$was conducted experimentally with the mole fraction of Tungsten(W) from z=0.0 to z=0.5. The temperature profile was measured according to the reaction time through the thermocouple that was equipped into the center of these samples. When the reaction front is propagated around the thermocouple, the highest temperature appears and we regard this temperature as the adiabatic temperature. We found out by experimental results that the reaction velocity is in the range of 2.14~1.35mm/sec and the adiabatic temperature is in the range of 1883~1507K for the six samples. The reaction velocity and the adiabatic temperature were inclined to decrease with an increasing of the mole fraction of Tungsten (W). The SHS modeling is presented in order to predict the temperature profiles and these results are compared with the experimental results. It is predicted that in case of increasing the initial temperature of these six samples, the reaction temperature increased and that the sample of z=0.5 needs the preheating up to 800~900K in order to become reaction temperature 1900K.

  • Let f be a nonconstant meromorphic function of hyper order strictly less than 1, and let c be a nonzero finite complex number such that f(z + c) ≢ f(z). We prove that if ∆cf = f(z + c) - f(z) and f share 0, ∞ CM and 1 IM, then ∆cf = f. Our result generalizes and greatly improves the related results.

  • In this paper, we investigate sharing value problems related to a meromorphic function f(z) and f(qz), where q is a non-zero constant. It is shown, for instance, that if f(z) is zero-order and shares two valves CM and one value IM with f(qz), then f(z) = f(qz).

  • In this paper, we investigate the growth properties of solutions of the non-homogeneous linear complex differential equation L(f) = b (z) f + c (z), where L(f) is a linear differential polynomial and b (z), c (z) are entire functions and give some of its applications on sharing value problems.

  • Today they use a weather radar with spatially high resolution in predicting rainfall intensity and utilizing the information for super short-range forecast in order to make predictions of such severe meteorological phenomena as heavy rainfall and snow. For a weather radar, they use the Z-R relation between the reflectivity factor(Z) and rainfall intensity(R) by rainfall particles in the atmosphere in order to estimate intensity. Most used among the various Z-R relation is $Z=200R^{1.6}$ applied to stratiform rain. It's also used to estimate basic rainfall intensity of a weather radar run by the weather center. This study set out to compare rainfall intensity between the reflectivity of a weather radar and the ground rainfall of ASOS(Automatic Surface Observation System) by analyzing many different cases of heavy rain, analyze the errors of different weather radars and identify their problems, and investigate their applicability to nowcasting in case of severe weather.

  • For functions $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+a_3z^3+{\cdots}$ with ${\mid}a_2{\mid}=2b$, $b{\geq}0$, sharp radii of starlikeness of order ${\alpha}(0{\leq}{\alpha}<1)$, convexity of order ${\alpha}(0{\leq}{\alpha}<1)$, parabolic starlikeness and uniform convexity are derived when ${\mid}a_n{\mid}{\leq}M/n^2$ or ${\mid}a_n{\mid}{\leq}Mn^2$ (M>0). Radii constants in other instances are also obtained.

  • A polynomial, $p(z)=a_0z^n+a_1z^{n-1}+{\cdots}+a_{n-1}z+a_n$, with real coefficients is called a stable or a Hurwitz polynomial if all its zeros have negative real parts. We show that if a polynomial is a Hurwitz polynomial then so is the polynomial $q(z)=a_nz^n+a_{n-1}z^{n-1}+{\cdots}+a_1z+a_0$ (with coefficients in reversed order). As consequences, we give simple ratio checking inequalities that would determine unstability of a polynomial of degree 5 or more and extend conditions to get some previously known results.

  • The existing (q)Z-source PWM AC-AC converters have limited voltage gain because of the equivalent series resistance in the Z-source inductor. In order to obtain higher voltage gain than (q)Z-source AC-AC converters, a coupled inductor (or transformer) based Z-source AC-AC converter is proposed in this paper. By increasing turns ratio of the coupled inductor more than 1, the proposed converter can obtain higher output voltage than (q)Z-source converters with the same duty ratio. A 120 W prototype AC-AC converter is built and tested to verify performances of the proposed converter.

  • In this article, we consider the uniqueness problem of the shift polynomials $f^n(z)(f^m(z)-1){\prod\limits_{j=1}^{s}}f(z+c_j)^{{\mu}_j}$ and $f^n(z)(f(z)-1)^m{\prod\limits_{j=1}^{s}}f(z+c_j)^{{\mu}_j}$, where f(z) is a transcendental entire function of finite order, cj (j = 1, 2, …, s) are distinct finite complex numbers and n(≥ 1), m(≥ 1), s and µj (j = 1, 2, …, s) are integers. With the concept of weakly weighted sharing and relaxed weighted sharing we obtain some results which extend and generalize some results due to P. Sahoo [Commun. Math. Stat. 3 (2015), 227-238].
