Third, perception of entrepreneurs is a partial medium effect, which indirectly influences the willingness to start a business and directly or indirectly influences the willingness to start a business through the autonomy of job values, the desire to achieve economic and entrepreneurship.

In this study, we analyzed the influence of middle-aged office workers' entrepreneurial competency and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition on entrepreneurial intention by mediating entrepreneurial opportunity evaluation. Sub-variables of entrepreneurial competency were classified into prior knowledge, positive attitude, and social network. For the empirical analysis of this study, an online survey using Naver Office was conducted for about 15 days (February 6, 2023 - February 20, 2023) targeting office workers across the country who are interested in starting a business, and a total of 262 copies were collected and missing values. For 250 copies excluding 12 copies, SPSS Ver.24.0 and PROCESS MACRO Model 4.0 were used for empirical analysis. The results of the analysis are as follows: First, the higher the prior knowledge of the founder's individual competency, social network, and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition, the higher the entrepreneurial opportunity evaluation and entrepreneurial intention. On the other hand, it was found that the positive attitude among entrepreneurs' individual competencies did not affect entrepreneurship opportunity evaluation and entrepreneurial intention. In addition, the magnitude of the influence on entrepreneurial opportunity evaluation and entrepreneurial intention was in the order of entrepreneurial opportunity recognition, prior knowledge, and social network. This is because the positive attitude of middle-aged office workers towards start-up has a negative image of start-up due to the shrinking start-up environment due to COVID-19, fear of failure due to lack of preparation for start-up, and successive cases of start-up failure due to cognitive bias errors due to overconfidence. implying that there is Second, it was found that the evaluation of entrepreneurship opportunities had a significant positive (+) effect on entrepreneurial intention in a situation where the entrepreneur's individual competency and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition were controlled. Third, the startup opportunity evaluation was shown to mediate between the prior knowledge of the entrepreneur's individual competency, social network and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition, and entrepreneurial intention, but it did not mediate between positive attitude and entrepreneurial intention. Fourth, among the factors influencing entrepreneurial opportunity evaluation and entrepreneurial intention, entrepreneurial opportunity recognition was found to be larger than founder's individual competency, confirming the importance of entrepreneurial opportunity recognition. Fifth, it was found that prior knowledge and network, which are individual capabilities of the founder, affect the evaluation of entrepreneurial opportunities and entrepreneurial intention, so that strengthening entrepreneurship education to recognize the importance of cultivating prior entrepreneurial knowledge and experience can revitalize middle-aged office workers' entrepreneurship. confirmed.

Among them, it was found that marketing competence has the greatest effect on network activities and technical competence has the least effect. Second, network activities were found to have a significant effect on start-up performance in a positive (+) direction. Third, among enterepreneurial competencies, opportunity recognition competence, marketing competence, technical competence, and creative competence were found to have a positive (+) effect on start-up performance. Among them, it was found that creative competence had the greatest effect and technical competence had the smallest effect. Fourth, network activities were found to mediate between enterepreneurial competencies and start-up performance. As for the relative effect size of the indirect effects of independent variables, it was found that marketing competence had the greatest effect on start-up performance and technology competence had the smallest effect. The academic implications of this study include investigating the significance and relationship of various variables, providing verification of theoretical frameworks related to entrepreneurship, identifying the main drivers of start-up success, and suggesting the importance of the network between enterepreneurial competencies and start-up performance. In addition, the practical implications of this study suggest the importance of marketing competencies for networking, and suggest differentiation of competencies. Purpose - The break-even point refers to the point where total profit and total cost coincide, and from this point on, the entrepreneur's decision-making takes a different route. Strategic decisions can be made for more efficient operation and eventually for more likelihood for growth and sustainability if a startup figures out when it recoups the investment and switches to a net profit. Design/methodology/approach - 748 creativity and skill-based sole proprietors in manufacturing industry were examined to demonstrate the effect of the entrepreneur's entrepreneurial experience and education level, the business launch preparation time, or the self-financing on the achievement of break-even point. Findings - While the business launch preparation time lowered the likelihood of reaching a break-even point, self-financing increased the likelihood. As a result of further analysis by subdividing into subgroups according to skill level, only the business launch preparation time was statistically significant in the highly skilled industries. In the low skilled industries, in addition to the business launch preparation time, the CEO's education level and the self-financing were statistically significant. Research implications or Originality - The longer the business launch preparation time, the higher the start-up cost, which increases the burden of initial cost recovery, and the agile response to market changes is thereby delayed, resulting in the business idea losing its appeal. Self-financing not only provides stability and strong motivation for the business operation but also promotes careful spending which contributes to the achievement of break-even point. In particular, it is found that practical experience is more useful than theoretical knowledge in low skilled industries. Due to the limitation of secondary data based on the recollection, the time required to reach a break-even point, percentage of financing sources, etc. may include cognitive errors. In addition, variables are not included that explain the characteristics of creativity and skill-based sole proprietorship, so it is necessary to exercise caution with the actual application.

This study examined the effects of curiosity, the personal characteristics of start-up founders, on entrepreneurship. Among the various factors that make up the entrepreneurship, this study identified the relationship between the practical factors (challenge, innovativeness, competition) and the founder's curiosity. Based on previous studies, curiosity was divided into four individual factors: deficiency, playfulness, social curiosity, and stimulus pursuit. For each individual factor, we analyzed meaningful relationship with entrepreneurship. In addition, the founders were classified into those who simply think of starting a business, those preparing to start a business, and those who started the business. Each group was analyzed their degree of curiosity. The data were analyzed based on the final 248 data for entrepreneurs who are preparing or starting their own business in Daegu-Gyeongbuk region. Analysis shows that curiosity is higher in those who prepare or start a business than those who think about it. Curiosity has been found to have a positive effect on both the challenge, the innovation, and the composition of the competition. In addition, in entrepreneurship, the challenge was found to have a positive effect on innovation, but it did not affect competition composition. The characteristics of individual factors of curiosity were also different, and there was a significant effect of deficiency and playfulness on challenge, social curiosity and stimulus pursuit on innovation, and stimulus pursuit on competition. These findings are significant in identifying and analyzing curiosity as a factor influencing entrepreneurship. The results of the analysis can help theoretical expansion of entrepreneurship. In addition, it can provide important implications for the direction of entrepreneurship education and program development among volunteer activities for prospective entrepreneurs.

Start-ups are the driving force of economic development and play an important role in improving national competitiveness. The country's start-up support policies are increasing every year, but indicators that do not challenge them and do not consider future start-ups can predict employment reduction and unemployment can increase further. You can. The increase in the number of young people doing nothing is causing economic hardship and neglect of future precious human resources, which calls for a more realistic national entrepreneurship policy. Accordingly, this study sought to identify bias and environmental factors in order to reveal factors that influence the will to start a business among potential entrepreneurs in Korea. For this purpose, descriptive statistical analysis was performed using SPSS on a sample of 227 responses from the general public who are potential entrepreneurs interested in starting a business. As a result, prejudice decreased the will to start a business and increased fear of failure. On the other hand, the entrepreneur's environmental factors reduced the fear of failure and increased the will to start a business. Lastly, fear of failure was found to play a mediating role between the two independent variables and the will to start a business. The results of this study showed that prejudice was a negative factor in the will to start a business, and the environment was a positive factor. These research results suggest that in order to revitalize entrepreneurship, positive environmental factors that can provide entrepreneurs' correct recognition and support for entrepreneurship are necessary.

Although a well-established line of research has addressed the funding decision, the activities of investee startups to receive funding have been overlooked because prior research has been conduced from investor's point of view. In addition, funding does not result from one off decisions but from decision process with many stages. Moreover, the emphasis placed on specific investment criteria varies by different stages during the process. Therefore, understanding the initial funding of startups requires to analyze the strategic behaviors of startups throughout the entire funding decision process from first meeting with investors to funding success. This study investigates the initial funding process of startups, and the analysis is based on a case study of LetinAR one of the successful startups founded by students in South Korea. This study investigates how early start-ups were able to receive funding from startup's point of view, and the analysis is based on a case study of LetinAR, an augmented reality(AR) startup using Pin mirror technology. By adding "legitimacy building" stage that had not been addressed previously, we divided funding process into four stages: 1) legitimacy building, 2) familiarization, 3) screening, and 4) bargaining phase. We did not only analyze major criteria, but also strategic activities of startup at each stage. This study makes a contribution by helping us understand complicated process of funding and the successful strategic behavior of investor backed startups.
