Purpose : This study evaluated the impact of the presence and aspect of mandibular third molars to the mandible angle fracture or condyle fractures in Korean. Materials and Methods : A retrospective study was designed for patients attending the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Kang-dong sacred heart hospital for treatment of mandibular fracture from January 2006 to September 2010. The primary variable was the presence of mandibular third molar and the secondary variable was the aspects of third molar impaction. Mandibular third molars were classified by the impaction depth and the available space as Pell & Gregory system. Outcome variables were the presence of mandibular angle fracture or condyle fracture. Also the source of trauma, age, sex were studied. Hospital charts, radiographs were used for study. Statistic analysis was done with descriptive statistics, the X2-test, linear-by-linear association. P value under 0.05 was considered significant statistically. Results : The number of involved patients was 86. The ratio of male to female patients was about 9:1 for angle fracture and 7:3 for condyle fracture. The most common source of trauma was assault for angle fracture and fall down for condyle fracture. The presence of mandibular third molar increased frequency of angle fracture and decreased condyle fracture with larger impaction depth. But available space of mandibular third molar did not show high association with angle or condyle fractures. Conclusion: Preventive extraction of mandibular third molar is recommended for patients with high risk of angle fracture. Male patients at their third decade or martial artists, police officer could be the case. But it is not recommended for patients with low risk of angle fracture and high risk of condyle fracture relatively. Elder female patients without any symptom on their third molar could be the case.
Interactive media art can be said to be art in which audience participation and communication through interaction is considered to be most important Previously the role of the audience is to unilately accepted the artist's message, whereas the role of the audience observing interaction media has been changed to the point of the producer, actively participating in completing the artwork through interaction. This study analyzed the interaction and communication between the audience and interactive media artworks from the audience's point of view (in the view of reception theory) by the investigation of the case of the artworks that were on exhibition. Employing the exhibition interpretation medium with docent explanation and wall text was experienced how to improve audience's communication when they watched the artworks. The docent explained the intention of artists and their artworks in the manner of storytelling and induced the audience to focus naturally on the artworks. As the result, the role of the exhibition interpretation medium was found to be significantly high in enhancing the degree of emotional communication with the artworks, so in this study I attempted to present that the role of the docent is an important factor for enhancing the audience participation and emotional communication through interaction with the artworks.
The Gangneung coffee festival which started over escaping from the existing Sunrise Festival and Dano Festival of Gangneung has marked the 8th anniversary in 2016. Therefore, as the purpose of this study, an effect of service quality, perceived value, satisfaction, and loyalty of participants in the coffee festival was investigated through a structural equating model to prepare the system that can reinforce the Gangneung Coffee Festival's young and bright image escaping from the traditional city of many artists so that it can develop into the representative festival of Korea. This study was performed through a survey focusing on 623 tourists who visited the 2016 Gangneung Coffee festival events. The results in the study are summarized as follow: First, the service quality was classified into 3 factors of the festival programs and image, festival sites and food, and festival information and staffs. The reliability analysis has found that the 3 factors all show high reliability of more than 0.8. Second, the service quality of the festival has a significant effect on perceived value, satisfaction, and loyalty, except for some items. Third, the perceived value has found to have a significant effect on only satisfaction about the effect of it on satisfaction and loyalty. Fourth, satisfaction with the festival has found to have a significant effect on loyalty. Suggesting implications from the above results in the study, killer contents that can create a culture street of coffee through various programs of the Gangneung Coffee Festival and reinforce the possibility of the coffee city should be secured. And experience factors to make tourists watch, touch, and feel coffee are needed.
We have long kept our Cartesian tradition in which Mind privileges over Body; the invention of printing technology has accelerated the tradition in which the intelligence and legibility of media were considered as a higher human value. However, the development of media and technology are supporting the multisensory mechanisms of the body as it was in preliterate era when we communicated with our whole bodily experiences. The development and spread of mass-media and new technologies have broaden the boundary of human sensory that are largely dominated by visual information and expanded it to auditory, olfactory and even gustatory sensation. Since 1960's, some philosophers and artists have recognized the human body as a subjective matter, starting the movement in which the body plays a role as an essential factor in study of human perception and cognition, aesthetics in art, and sociology, and the changed perspectives are practiced vigorously in the field of new media art; the theory of Maurice Merleau-Ponty who clarified the body as a general means for the body's possession of world, so that recognize the importance of cognition of one's body and approved the embodiment could be applied and practiced here. Therefore, we discuss how Merleau-Ponty's philosophical theory can be practiced and how McLuhan's perspective could be applied on the notion of body's extension in media by analysing some new media art cases.
This paper focuses on the social implication of new media art, which has evolved with the advance of technology. To understand the notion of human-computer interactivity in media art, it examines the meaning of "cybernetics" theory invented by Norbert Wiener just after WWII, who provided "control and communication" as central components of his theory of messages. It goes on to investigate the application of cybernetics theory onto art since the 1960s, to which Roy Ascott made a significant contribution by developing telematic art, utilizing the network of telecommunication. This paper underlines the significance of the relationship between human and machine, art and technology in transforming the work of art as a site of communication and experience. The interactivity in new media art transforms the viewer into the user of the work, who is now provided free will to make decisions on his or her action with the work. The artist is no longer a godlike figure who determines the meaning of the work, yet becomes another user of his or her own work, with which to interact. This paper believes that the interaction between man and machine, art and technology can lead to various ways of interaction between humans, thereby restoring a sense of community while liberating humans from conventional limitations on their creativity. This paper considers the development of new media art more than a mere invention of new aesthetic styles employing advanced technology. Rather, new media art provides a critical shift in subverting the modernist autonomy that advocates the medium specificity. New media art envisions a new art, which would embrace impurity into art, allowing the coexistence of autonomy and heteronomy, embracing a technological other, thereby expanding human relations. By enabling the birth of the user in experiencing the work, interactive new media art produces an open arena, in which the user can create the work while communicating with the work and other users. The user now has freedom to visit the work, to take a journey on his or her own, and to make decisions on what to choose and what to do with the work. This paper contends that there is a significant parallel between new media artists' interest in creating new experiences of the art and Jacques Ranci$\grave{e}$re's concept of the aesthetic regime of art. In his argument for eliminating hierarchy in art and for embracing impurity, Ranci$\grave{e}$re provides a vision for art, which is related to life and ultimately reshapes life. Ranci$\grave{e}$re's critique of both formalist modernism and Jean-Francois Lyotard's postmodern view underlines the social implication of new media art practices, which seek to form "the common of a community."
This is a practice-based research, aiming to explore the experiments of Animated Documentary, which is a unique form can explore the mysteries and complexity of memories. Animated Documentary is a medium through which one can reveal an individual's memories within the context of a narrative that is historically situated and influenced. The marriage of animation and documentary gave birth to a new form of film. How to category this new form? Is it an animated short or documentary short? In fact, this raises issue that questioning the nature of animation and documentary. From Shuibo Wang's works, more young Chinese artists began to experiment with symbols (related to the Political Pop Trend) in visual narration, which could also be seen as a reflection of structuralism and semiology in the contemporary Chinese art field. As a case study, this paper demonstrates how animated short "Ketchup" revealed the problems of youth and social turmoil through the memories of a six-year boy. On the Festivals and conferences, the publics were shocked to know "Ketchup" based on true memories, and they were more curious why the crucial things almost be forgotten. Actually forget fulness is one of the layers of memories and Animated Documentary will offer a new way to explore how our memories are shaped.

This study aims to understand causal relationship among preference factors - preferred design, design image, and design elements-to create interaction between artists and spectators, concerning eating and drinking table decoration which is produced with subjective representation chiefly by virtue of the authors' conceptualization and planning. As an experimental research , face-to-face personal interviews have been made in off-line setting through questionnaires. Acquired information from it has been analyzed, which results are as follows. As harmonious, warm, womanish design image, combination of pink-tone similar colors were preferred. As image adjectives highly related with design preference were 'harmonious and inharmonious' A design factor of 'harmonious' was combination of similar colors, while that of 'inharmonious' was association of mixed colors. It has been found that 'colors' have been an important factor among preference design factors. As above, a new concept for design can be established by using data-based information, along with suggesting a direction for preferred design in the field of eating and drinking table decoration. Furthermore, it will be possible to make a study of new preferred design through evaluation of quantitative spectators in this area. It is expected that such researches could give an opportunity to get satisfactory results from newly experimented designs using quantitative data even in a creative design area, as well as table decoration.
The purpose of this study is to comprehend the characteristics of collaborative examples in mobile games by analyzing the types of cultural fusion and their utilization in mobile game industry. The major examples of collaborations include the collaborative works utilizing artists, characters, and products by examining the practical collaborations within international mobile games between the years 2010 to 2014. The most typical kind of collaboration among them is the utilization of characters, composed of using characters between games, applying animation characters, borrowing cartoon or web-cartoon characters, hiring famous celebrities, or even including great men in their games. Therefore, the characteristics of mobile game's collaborative types are confirmed as below by studying the above examples. (1) There are many examples of collaborating between different types of businesses defined as 'conversion type fusion.' (2) The character utilization is the most sought after type of collaboration. (3) The applied content's target audience seems to share the same age groups of the game's audience. (4) The game industry always adopts the components that could be recognized instantly. (5) The status and influence of mobile game have risen greatly. Consequently, this research has important role in establishing the strategic collaborative plans for mobile game business by expanding the prospects of game related researches and industrial and academic theories.
The purpose of this study is to establish the most severe impacts of Covid-19 in the field of the performing arts and to explore countermeasures taken both at home and abroad. This study has been conducted through literature surveys. The conclusion is as follows. First, since the outbreak of Covid-19, theater venues around the world have actively taken part in uploading recorded performances to streaming services. Secondly, these performance visualizings are generally considered as being complimentary goods rather than a substitute for live performance. Thirdly, although more audiences are tuning into watch on-line performances, consumption is concentrated on a few theaters which have a worldwide reputation and a broad range of content. Fourthly, to tackle the impact that Covid-19, the UK government announced a series of job protection schemes in the field of the Arts. In addition, Arts Council England prepared an emergency response package. In Korea, some countermeasures such as government support for artists and cultural establishments have also been implemented. Lastly, some suggestions for the sector. I conclude that there is an need for domestic companies to secure core contents of significant quality and to make strategic alliances with leading overseas performance companies so that they may cooperate together.
