탄소섬유 표면의 H2S 처리에 관한 연구 (Surface Treatment of Carbon Fiber by Hydrogen Sulfide)

  • 탄소섬유/알루미늄 복합 재료의 계면 전단 강도를 향상시키기 위하여 탄소섬유 표면을 $400-600^{\circ}C$의 온도 범위에서 황화수소 기체로 처리하였다. 처리 탄소섬유 표면의 변화를 주사 전자 현미경과 X-선 광전자 스펙트럼에 의해 관찰하고 분석하여 표면 처리 탄소섬유의 표면에 황 화합물이 존재하는 것을 확인하고, 표면처리 탄소섬유의 탄소 및 탄소의 함량 변화를 조사하였다. 탄소섬유 표면의 황화수소 기체 처리의 최적 온도는 $550^{\circ}C$였고, 처리 탄소섬유 표면의 황 화합물은 disulfide, $(S)_n$ 및 thiophene의 형태를 이루고 있었다. 처리 탄소섬유는 처리 온도 $400-600^{\circ}C$의 범위에서 5% 정도의 인장 강도 저하를 나타냈다.

  • Since its invention at TWI in 1991, Friction Stir Welding (FSW) has become a major joining process in the aerospace, railway and ship building industries especially in the fabrication of aluminium alloys. In an attempt to optimize the friction stir welding process of Al alloys for extrusion Aluminium carbody of HEMU-400X (Extrusion Aluminum 6xxx series), effects of joining parameters such as tool rotating speed, plunging depth and dwelling time on the weld joints properties were evaluated. Experimental tests were carried out for butt joined Al plates. A wide range of joining conditions could be applied to join Al alloys for Extrusion Aluminum 6xxx series without defects in the weld zone except for certain welding conditions with an insufficient heat input. The microstructures of welds have dynamic-recrystallized grain similar to stir zone in FSW weld. For sound joints without defects, at the rotation speed of 700 rpm with different welding speeds, the tensile strengths of the Stir Zone(SZ) were almost the same, 80% of those of the base metal.   • The pulley-type tensioning device subjected to a maximum tension of 34 kN has been developed for 400 km/h high-speed railway. The tensioning device is to maintain the tension variation within 3% of the normal value, irregardless of temperature changes. Field tests shows that the tensioning device had a variation of tension which was as small as 0.6% as temperatures changed from $-5{\sim}7^{\circ}C$. Along with the tensions, we measured its X and Y movements due to the temperature changes. Based on a combination of its X and Y movements, we proposed a new performance index with which we can see if the tensioning device has troubles in operation without tension measurements.

비정질 Ge1-xMnx 박막의 자기수송특성에 미치는 열처리 효과 (Annealing Effect on Magneto-transport Properties of Amorphous Ge1-xMnx Semiconductor Thin Films)

  • 비정질 $Ge_{1-x}Mn_x$ 박막을 $400^{\circ}C$에서 $700^{\circ}C$까지 온도범위에서 각 3분씩 고진공챔버($10^{-8}$ torr)에서 열처리하였고, as-grown 시료와 열처리한 시료의 전기적 특성과 자기수송특성을 연구하였다. 성분함량은 energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS)와 x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)로 측정하였으며, 박막의 구조분석은 x-ray diffractometer(XRD)와 transmission electron microscopy(TEM)를 이용하였다. 자성특성은 여러 범위의 자기장에서 Magnetic property measure system(MPMS)를 이용하였다. 박막의 전기적 특성은 standard four-point probe와 Physical property measurement system(PPMS)로 측정하였으며, van der Pauw 방법을 사용하여 Anomalous Hall effect를 측정하였다. X-ray 회절 패턴 분석을 통해 $500^{\circ}C$에서 3분 동안 열처리한 시료는 여전히 비정질 상태인 것을 알 수 있었으며, $600^{\circ}C$의 열처리 온도에서 결정화를 확인할 수 있었다. as-grown $Ge_1$_$_xMn_x$ 박막과 열처리한 $Ge_{1-x}Mn_x$ 박막을 온도에 따른 비저항 값의 변화를 측정하였고, 반도체의 특성을 보이는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 열처리 온도가 높을수록 비저항도 증가하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. $700^{\circ}C$에서 열처리한 $Ge_1$_$_xMn_x$ 박막은 저온에서 negative magnetoresistance(MR)을 확인할 수 있었고, MR ratio는 10 K에서 약 8.5 %를 보였다. 모든 MR 그래프에서 curve의 비대칭을 확인 할 수 있었으며, anomalous Hall Effect는 약하지만 250 K까지 관측이 되었다.

차세대 고속열차 대차 형상에 따른 공기저항 변화에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Aerodynamic Drag Characteristics by Train Bogie Shape Variation)

  • Wind tunnel tests are performed so as to investigate the aerodynamic drag characteristics of HEMU-400x, next generation Korean high speed train. The experiments of 1/20 scaled 5-car train model are done at 30, 40, 50, 60m/s with a normal bogie, a bogie cover, and a streamlined shape. The flat plate with knife edge are installed to minimize the effect of boundary layer of wind tunnel for the train model. The aerodynamic drag reduction was more by a streamlined shape than by a bogie cover from a normal bogie. Based on the experimental results, the aerodynamic drag of HEMU-400x test train(6-car) was predicted. It is prediceted that More bogie cover could reduce more aerodynamic drag of the test train in replacement of normal bogies.

  • Recently, the Next Generation High Speed Train(hereinafter HEMU-400X) which has been developing is the power distribution type high speed train. The power is on every each car and all bogies are installed on the front and rear of every car comparison with KTX and KTX-Sancheon which are consist of power cars and linkable bogies. HEMU-400X can be designed much more seats than others because there are not power car separately. However, that type has no advantage for vibration and noise due to distributed power and more faster design speed. Therefore, in this study, the design of floor construction for preventing the vibration from under the floor is considered.

공력에 의한 HEMU-400x 고속열차의 주행안정성 평가 (Stability Evaluation on Aerodynamics of High Speed Railway Train)

  • Recently, the speed of a train has been increased. So the trains are being exposed to wind more severely than before. Because of the operation of high speed trains and lightweight of the train, risks of train derailment have being increased. In this study, aerodynamic effects of a newly designed high speed train, HEMU-400x, are evaluated. For aerodynamic effect evaluation, analysis method is selected by examining the safety standards for high speed train. The condition of aerodynamic effects is selected by adverse effect conditions. In order to calculate $C_s$ coefficients, numerical analysis is conducted. Using $C_s$ coefficients, the side force is calculated. Through dynamics analysis, derailment and wheel unloading are obtained. Using these results, derailment evaluation is performed.

  • Nano size 몰드의 제작은 X-ray lithography 방법을 이용하여 몰드를 제작하고, micro size의 경우 Deep UV lithography 방법을 이용하여 몰드를 제작하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 SLS(Selective Laser Sintering)형 RP(Rapid Prototyping System)을 이용하여 미세구조 몰드를 제작하였으며, 패턴의 깊이는 400 ㎛까지 구현하였다. 제작된 몰드의 강도와 내열성을 높이기 위하여 전해도금을 이용하여 몰드의 표면에 Ni를 300 ㎛생성 시켰다.

  • With the increase in population, the area of human activities has expanded, resulting in the dramatic increase in the need for transportation system. Various infrastructures necessary for efficient logistics, however, have not been supplied enough and the logistics efficiency in Korea is in a bad situation now. As a result of the situation, the demand for the railroad transportation system that can provide large volume transportation has increased dramatically. An electric railway system is composed of high-tech subsystems, among which main electric equipment such as motors and converter are critical components determining the performance of electric vehicle. Among the on-board equipments, traction equipment is important part that has influence on safety and performances of vehicles. We is studied for high-speed train of foreign countries. From this research, we knows that axle weight of HEMU-400x is reasonable within 13ton.

  • Now, the goal of the third generation KTX project is to create a new species of high speed train in order to open a new era of high speed railway system in history by authentic Korean technology and innovative design. Now the third generation KTX, must go beyond the original stagnant paradigm and be positioned as an emotional resource which is creating a shift in the public's perspective of transportation and expanding the idea that transportation intersects the two distinct realms of culture and environment as well. In addition, the overall design should reflect the Korean culture and characteristics, simple yet resonant, both the interior space and the exterior fuselage should portray the dynamic heritage of Korea such as the powerful yet subdued energy of Jung Joong Dong. In short, through the symbolic key words in Korean, Dong(Dynamics), Mek(Pulse), Ryu(Flow), Gam(Sensibility), the third generation KTX design project aims to create an new identity of Korean high speed railway which can stand globally.
