  • The development of universal CCD camera control software for all BOAO CCD camera systems is proposed. The new software, running under Sun SPARCstation and motif based X window system with SunOS 4.1.3 operating system, replaces existing control software based on NeXTstation color and NeXTstep 2.1 operating system which is no more produced now. Several new features of the new software is introduced, some of which are 1) the image contrast is enhanced by color manipulation and display, 2) image zooming and trimming, 3) any size of image can be displayed in the scrolled window, and 4) the offset between telescope pointing position and CCD center is easily calculated by alt-azi map. Along with the above new features, the new software has advantages including ease of maintenance and upgrading and elimination of risk caused by hardware damage. Since September 1, the software beta version is being used by observers and there is not seen severe problem regarding the software itself, but several requests to equip more features to the software will be mirrored to future release.

  • Research about Reuse is developed in various direstions, but the sucessful exmples; of the rexuavle objects are very rare in praciice because technical environment to support reuse is short.In this paper we describe a sys-tem for analyxing the information about reusability of C++ objects and for storing and managing the extracted information in information DB.In this development system, user can see the specification information of objects and the quality information of the procedual and object oriented atibutes by browsing.And objests that are not on the reuse unformation DB is analyxed and is tested automatically using the information analyzer by user.We implemented this system using C program in X-Window OSFI/Motif 2.1.1.

  • Current VOD embodiment way is embodied using PC base. However, achieved research that embody this by Embedded System that PC base is not. OS of this system used WindowsCE.net and x86core used having built-ined SC1200(National company's Geode's familys) by CPU and memory used 128MByte SDRAM. Used Mpeg Decoder for processing of video data, and used Enthernet Controller for Internet. Composite, component, S-Video of video output section of this system is and select one of these and connect on TV and did so that get into action. Actuality implementation manufactured necessary BIOS, WinodwsCE.NET Porting, DeviceDriver in system development and necessary simple Application in action confirmation, and Video Player used Window Media Player had included to WindowsCE.net.   • In this paper the conceptual design and development of a compact vertical type soft x-ray microscope is described. This x-ray microscope operates in the water window wavelength region(2.3 ${\sim}$ 4.4nm), where natural contrast between carbon(protein) and oxygen(water) allows imaging of unstained biological material their natural, hydrated environment. Until now, operational x-ray microscopes are based on synchrotron radiation sources, which limit their accessibility. Many biologists would benefit from having the x-ray microscope as a tool among other tools in their own laboratory, For this purpose we introduced the compact vertical type soft X-ray microscope with 50 nm resolution for biomedical application. The compact vertical type soft x-ray microscope is based on a laser plasma x-ray source, doubled ellipsoidal condenser reflective optics, diffractive zone plate optics and MCP coupled with CCD to record an x-ray image.

An Experimental Study on Optimization of $NH_3$ Injection for the Selective Catalytic Reduction(SCR) System (선택적 환원 촉매(SCR)에서 암모니아($NH_3$) 분사량 최적화에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • The Selective catalytic reduction(SCR) system is a highly-effective device of $NO_x$ reduction for diesel engines. Generally, the ammonia($NH_3$) generated from a liquid urea-water solution is used for the reductant. The ideal ratio of $NH_3$ molecules to $NO_x$ molecules is 1:1 based on $NH_3$ consumption and having $NH_3$ available for reaction of all of the exhaust $NO_x$. However, under the too low and too high temperature condition, the $NO_x$ reduction efficiency becomes lower, due to temperature window. And space velocity also affects to $NO_x$ conversion efficiency. This paper reviews a laboratory study to evaluate the effects of $NO_x$ and $NH_3$ concentrations, gas temperature and space velocity on the $NO_x$ conversion efficiency of the SCR system. The maximum conversion efficiency of $NO_x$ was indicated when the $NH_3$ to $NO_x$ ratio was 1.2 and the space velocity was $60,000\;h^{-1}$. The results of this paper contribute to improve overall $NO_x$ reduction efficiency and $NH_3$ slip.

  • Using X-Window system (Motif Graphic User Interface), the AKM (Apogee Kick Motor) firing software for Koreasat which will be launched in 1995 has been developed to transfer the spacecraft from its transfer orbit, provided by the DeltaII launch vehicle, into a nearly geostationary drift orbit. The AKM firing software runs in one of two modes. In mission analysis mode, using a fixed magnitude impulsive velocity change, it provides the necessary data for planning the burn parameters. In insert mode, it uses the orbit propagator function to integrate the spacecraft state through the AKM burn. In this case, an AKM thrust profile and specific impulse are applied to the necessary data for planning the burn parameters to obtain the best possible drift orbit. The apogee burn planning simulation for orbital transfer of Koreasat has been performed using the AKM firing software. And the result of this simulation has been analyzed.

  • Java is a promising runtime environment for embedded systems because it has many advantages such as platform independence, high security and support for multi-threading. One of the most famous Java run-time environments, Sun's ($PersonalJave^{TM}$) is based on Truffle architecture, which enables programmers to design various GUIs easily. For this reason, it has been ported to various embedded systems such as set-top boxes and personal digital assistants(PDA's). Basically, Truffle uses heavy-weight window managers such as Microsoft vVin32 API and X-Window. However, those window managers are not adequate for embedded systems because they require a large amount of memory and disk space. To come up with the requirements of embedded systems, we adopt Microwindows as the platform graphic system for Personal] ava A WT onto Embedded Linux. Although Microwindows is a light-weight window manager, it provides as powerful API as traditional window managers. Because Microwindows does not require any support from other graphics systems, it can be easily ported to various platforms. In addition, it is an open source code software. Therefore, we can easily modify and extend it as needed. In this paper, we implement Personal]ava A WT using Microwindows on embedded Linux and prove the efficiency of our approach.

  • In this study, highly thermal stable Ni Germanosilicide has been utilized using NiPt alloy and novel NiPt/Co/TiN tri-layer. And, the Ni Germanosilicide Properties were characterized according to different Ge ratio (x) in $Si_{l-x}Ge_x$ for the next generation CMOS application. The sheet resistance of Ni Germanosilicide utilizing pure-Ni increased dramatically after the post-silicidation annealing at $600^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. Moreover, more degradation was found as the Ge fraction increases. However, using the proposed NiPt/Co/TiN tri-layer, low temperature silicidation and wide range of RTP process window were achieved as well as the improvement of the thermal stability according to different Ge fractions by the subsequent Co and TiN capping layer above NiPt on the $Si_{l-x}Ge_x$. Therefore, highly thermal immune Ni Germanosilicide up to $600^{\circ}C$ for 30 min is utilized using the NiPt/Co/TiN tri-layer promising for future SiGe based ULSI technology.

  • This paper proposes a dynamic formatting method for processing large amounts of document in a device independent manner. And it is very useful for cross-referencing among pages in a single document and for presenting multiple pages simultaneously. The method can be applied usefully to hypertext's application such as establishing a link and a cross-reference among pages in a multiple document. We implemented an electronic publishing system of WYSIWYG type using X window system and Motif graphical user interface.

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 널리 알려져 있는 vision function들을 Robot controller에 맞게 수정하고, 또한 각종 windows에 익숙한 사용자들이 보다 쉽게 로보트를 다룰 수 있도록 하기 위해, 이러한 기본 기능들을 X-windows 상에서 vision language로 구현하였다. 기존의 기본 motion language, I/O language와 함께 Vision Langeage를 구현함으로써 Vison based Intelligent Robot system을 구축하였다.
