From March 1, 2017 to May 31, 2017, subjects were allowed to apply a wrinkle-improving herbal cosmetic product containing the extract of Douchi for 8 weeks. The effectiveness of herbal cosmetics was evaluated through wrinkle improvement efficacy parameter analysis, subjective wrinkle improvement through questionnaires, and adverse reaction. The herbal cosmetic products containing the extract of Douchi showed a significant decrease in the wrinkle improvement efficacy parameter analysis result. The results of the subjective satisfaction analysis after use were also evaluated positively. We could confirm the possibility of wrinkle improvement effect of Douchi extract, and it will be possible to contribute to the expansion of korean medicine field through more studies in the future.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Cuscuta chinensis Lamark ethanol extract (CL) on wrinkle improvement. Cuscuta chinensis Lamark is known to contain dried saccharide, alkaloids, flavonoids, lignans and rein glycoside as major components of dried mature seeds of Cuscuta japonica Choisy. In this study, we evaluated the anti-wrinkle effects of CL and investigated bio-markers (e.g ; MMP-1, MMP-3, MMP-9, TIMP-1, type I procollagen) associated with skin wrinkle improvement. We tested the anti-wrinkle effect of CL using human fibroblast called CCD-986Sk cell. We observed an increase in MMPs, TIMP-1, and type 1 pro-collagen CL in CCD-986Sk cells irradiated with UVB at an intensity of $2mJ/cm^2$ for 60 seconds. As a result, CL decreased UVB-induced MMPs levels and mRNA expressions in CCD-986Sk cell. The levels and mRNA expressions of type I procollagen and TIMP-1 were increased by CL. These results suggest that CL has activities on improvement of skin wrinkle, which is induced by UVB radiation. Taken together, this study proposed the possibility of developing herbal medicine and functional herbal cosmetic materials with wrinkle-improving effects of Cuscuta chinensis Lamark.

As the aging society progresses and the functional cosmetics market is revitalized we have learned that the functional cosmetics that the silver generation is most interested in are wrinkle-improving products and we are making great efforts to develop functional cosmetics that improve wrinkles. The ingredients are actually making. From the early 2000s when the development of functional cosmetics began to the present the research trends of functional cosmetics for wrinkle improvement were analyzed by analyzing papers on functional cosmetics for wrinkle improvement. Research methods focused on literature search and SIRS paper search keywords. And the cosmetic material that needs to be researched focuses on the anti-aging function among functional cosmetics which is the anti-wrinkle function. The research results show the rapid growth of the Anti-aging market. As the population ages the generation of silver with high purchasing power will expand and a market for expensive anti-aging products and services for a healthy old age will be formed.

Objective : The purpose of this clinical research was to investigate the effects of herbal cosmetics containing Momordica charntia L. extracts on the anti-wrinkle and whitening effects. Methods : A total of 25 subjects who visited Daegu Hanny Oriental Medical Center from November 1st, 2010 to December 31th, 2010 were included in this study. In this study, we observed change of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 for using products, change of average melanin content and pigmental area, analysis results of subjective wrinkle improvement, Analysis results of subjective whitening improvement. Statistical analysis was performed by using paired t-test and wilcoxon signed ranks test. Statistical significance was achieved if the probability was less than 5%(p<0.05) Results : Statistically, herbal cosmetics containing Momordica charntia L. extracts showed siginificant effect on change of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 for using products, change of average melanin content and pigmental area, analysis results of subjective wrinkle improvement, Analysis results of subjective whitening improvement(p<0.05). And satisfaction after using herbal cosmetics was near good. Conclusions : Considering the above results, we have concluded that herbal cosmetics containing Momordica charntia L. extracts have the remarkable effects on the anti-wrinkle and whitening effects.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of acupuncture and the details of acupuncture treatment methods on skin wrinkles. Methods : Search was conducted in Pubmed, KISS, and NDSL databases for acupuncture studies on skin wrinkles. The detailed therapeutic techniques of acupuncture used for skin wrinkles and the effect of acupuncture on skin wrinkle improvement were analyzed. Then, the study results using the same indicator were compared through meta-analysis in order to compare the effects of acupuncture with the control group. The quality of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was assessed using the risk of bias (ROB) assessment tool (Ver. 1.0, Cochrane Collaboration). Results : A total of 10 RCTs and 19 case series were included in this study. The most frequently used therapeutic technique for skin wrinkle improvement was Microneedle therapy system (MTS, n=19), and they were mostly used with aesthetic solutions (13 out of 19 studies). Skin wrinkle related indexes were most commonly used to evaluate skin wrinkle improvement (n=14). Panax Ginseng pharmacopuncture showed the most remarkable effect in improving the range of skin wrinkles and the depth of skin wrinkles. MTS+epidermal growth factor improved the levels of skin hydration, skin elasticity, and variation of skin pigment the most. MTS+Endothelial precursor cell improved the number of skin melanin the most. Three RCTs included in the meta-analysis showed moderate ROB on average. Conclusions : Acupuncture treatment was effective in improving skin wrinkles. However, a precise study design using unified indicators and appropriate controls needs to be performed in further studies in order to establish more convincing evidence of the effectiveness of acupuncture for improving skin wrinkles.

Additives, such as sodium perborate and borax, were examined in dialdehyde wrinkle resistant finishing of cotton. Results indicated that the whiteness index(WI) of cotton treated with dialdehyde and additive showed about 90% of WI of the untreated cotton but with decrease in wrinkle recovery angle (WRA) due to inhibition effect of these additives. Effect of additive on the WRA reduction was more prominent with glutaraldehyde than with glyoxal. Reduction in WRA of cotton treated with both dialdehydes and boron compound was minimized by simultaneous addition of formic acid in the bath. Addition of formic acid was also generally beneficial in maintaining WI retentions after 8 months storage. Furthermore, boron compounds were also effective in improving retentions of mechanical properties. By FTIR analysis the residual aldehyde group was detected on the dialdehyde-finished cotton, whereas no peak was shown by addition of boron compounds. This suggested that the residual aldehyde group was a main cause of fabric yellowing on the dialdehyde-finished cotton. Dialhehyde with boron compound, therefore, can be used to replace a conventional formaldehyde-containing wrinkle resistant finishing of cotton.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of fabric movement on wrinkle recovery in a clothing care system and to propose an algorithm to improve wrinkle removal performance by adjusting fabric movements. With an increase in the reciprocating speed of the movement system, the number and amplitude of curves on the fabric also increased. This allowed the fabric to be applied to a larger tension, resulting in better wrinkle removal performance at higher speeds. However, even at high reciprocating speeds, wrinkles could not be removed effectively because of nodes at a few specific locations. Based on the results of fabric movement and wrinkle recovery, a complex movement algorithm was proposed with a mixture of various reciprocation speeds. It showed a 41%p (24%→65%) improvement of wrinkle recovery when compared with the conventional algorithm that showed simple fabric movement at 180 rpm. This was because the positions of nodes and antinodes changed continuously and the force by the reciprocating motion could be applied evenly to the fabric.

Ginseng berry (GB) contains Ginsenoside Re and has anti-inflammatory and anti-wrinkle properties. In this study, TLC fractions 1, 2, and 4 of the ginseng berry amino acid complex were identified and analyzed by HPLC. And identified a peptide (AP-1) by LC/MASS analysis of fraction 1. The anti-inflammatory activity was confirmed by investigating the inhibitory effect of AP-1 on NO production. In addition, collagen synthesis using procollagen type I C-peptide (PIP) ELISA kit was 50% higher effective than that of the control group. From these results, the peptide isolated from ginseng berry amino acid complex is considered to have anti-inflammatory and anti-wrinkle effect, and may be useful as an anti-inflammatory and anti-aging cosmetic raw material.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to compare the changes before and after constitutional acupuncture treatment in soyangin who received embedding therapy for wrinkle improvement. Methods A retrospective study reviewing medical records was conducted. The patient was classified as a Soyangin by a specialist based on K-PRISM, personality, appearance, voice and usual symptoms. Records on the degree of wrinkles, postoperative symptoms, and patient satisfaction were reviewed. Results The patient's wrinkles were improved after the embedding therapy. After therapy symptoms were fever, flushing, and burning sensation. After acupuncture, these symptoms were reduced. Patient satisfaction increased after constitutional acupuncture treatment. Conclusion As a result of embedding treatment in Soyangin patients, there was an effect of wrinkle improvement. As a result of constitutional acupuncture treatment, anxiety and stress were reduced before the procedure, and symptoms of heat, burning, and flushing were reduced after the procedure.

This study was to suggest the method for wrinkle improvement using Mugil cephalus extract. In order to evaluate the cosmetic product made of M. cephalus extract, the experiments were conducted with subjects and skin states for 4 weeks. Effect of cosmetics containing M. cephalus extract on the water holding capacity and evaporation of the women skin were investigated. The water holding capacity was increased after 1 h of application. But after 2 h, it was decreased. In the case of the water evaporation, it was increased with the increase of time. On the clinical trial, it was also found that water, oil, and rough level on the women skin were increased and wrinkles were improved. Side effects were also not detected during the application and treatment of cosmetics. Based on this result, the application of M. cephalus extract had positive effects on the improvement of wrinkles and skin in women. Therefore, it will be used to develop the wrinkle improvement therapy for women.
