The purpose of this study was to develop a theoretical model from which to test the influence of family background and work experience on the level of rural high school students' (N=381) occupational aspirations. In the basic model, mother's occupation directly influenced occupational aspirations. Father's education influenced occupational aspirations directly and also indirectly through students' academic achievement. The number of working hours per week had a direct and negative influence on academic achievement. In a different path, working hours had an indirect positive influence on academic achievement through parents' different treatment which especially focused on the fact that parents gave students more freedom compared to the relationship they shared before the students began to work. Enjoying school, studying homework, and extra reading were influenced by students' number of working hours. Two variables, extra reading and job characteristics, predict the social acceptance work attitudes which are a direct predictor of occupational aspirations. Academic achievement had a greater total effect on the level of occupational aspirations than any other variables.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between upper-scale general hospital nurses' experience of verbal abuse and job stress. Methods: Subjects were 245 nurses working at 3 upper-scale general hospitals in B city and the data were collected by convenience samples using self-reported questionnaires consist of general characteristics, verbal abuse and job stress. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ test and Pearson's correlation coefficients. Results: The mean score of verbal abuse level was 2.2 points and job stress level was 2.5 points. Experience of verbal abuse and job stress among the subjects had a positive correlation, and verbal abuse against nurses especially showed a strong correlation with job stress. Conclusion: Results of this study show that nurses' experience of verbal abuse increases their job stress. Therefore, continuous education and training programs that are based on the case studies with coping method according to clinical careers and working areas are required to reduce upper-scale general hospital nurses' experience of verbal abuse and decrease their job stress.
We investigated perception and educational demand for health functional foods among nutrition teachers and dietitians working in schools. The subjects were 229 nutrition teachers (57.2%) and dietitians (42.7%) working in Chungbuk elementary, middle and high schools. Approximately 67% of the subjects had experience consuming health functional foods. Most of the subjects did not have experience with the side effects after consuming health functional foods. Subjects who were unaware of the legal specifications, classification, and labeling standards for health functional foods (78-91.2%) were much more common than those who were aware of those issues. Most of the subjects perceived health functional foods as a food (45.0%) or as a product between a food and a medicine (44.5%). The subjects recommended themselves (43.1%) or medical doctors/pharmacists (40.8%) as consultation/education specialists for health functional foods. Approximately 66% of the subjects had experience conducting nutritional consultation/education in their schools, but only 3.2% had experience with health functional foods. Only 17.8% of the subjects had experience receiving education on health functional foods. Most subjects (88.2%) demanded education on health functional foods for themselves. The results suggest that an effective education is needed for nutrition teachers and dietitians working in schools for them to play an active role in educating students and their parents about health functional foods in the near future.
Purpose: This study was conducted to explore the telemedicine cooperation experience of nurses working in remote areas. Methods: A focus group interviews were used to collect data. All interviews were recorded and transcribed. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. Results: The three main categories and seven sub-categories of telemedicine cooperation experience that emerged are 1) requirement of education on remote support service, 2) consideration of the recipients of medical support services and the characteristics of the area, and 3) difficulties in conducting telemedicine cooperation. Conclusion: As a result of the study, legal protection should be given priority, and it is necessary to select an area where remote cooperation is essential, to discover subjects, and to reduce the burden of work and division of manpower and duties.

According to industralization the percentage of working women with children is on the continuous increase. There has been a growing concern over important health problems of middle-aged women, especially with working women. But we didn't know how to care of themselves yet even if it was importment to fint out that. So this reseach was an attempt to identify the nature of experience of their health management so that it is to be contributed to be knowledge development of women' health management strategy. The phenomenological approach in qualitative studies was used to serve this purpose. Subjects were 10 middle-aged working women having children in well-being state. The result of this study was as follows : 'Diet pattern' was to unbalanced and irregular but they tried to correct balanced and harmony dietary life. 'Exercise' was very simple and irregular. They have closed-minded of kinds of exercise. 'Controlling the environment and their minds' was to obtain emotional stability and be free from stress. They put emphasis on refraining from being overtiring and watching their condition carefully. They always tried to keep the peaceful mind. 'Reducing fatigue' was to be bathing, hot streamed-bath, finger pressure therapy, massage, singing, communication with others and maintenance of personal relationships. 'Identification of self-esteem' was very key point to maintain their health. Working regulary gave them to please and value of the life. 'Work oriented life pattern' was to be harm their health state so that it need to be available clinics to check up their health state after work. The rest of this study showed that it need to be social support for working women to work with comfort. Further study regarding working women engaging in the lower level is nesessary.
This study attempted to explore the experience related to the work-family balance of working moms during the COVID-19 period. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted by recruiting 17 part-time and full-time working moms with at least 1 child under the age of 13. As a result of analyzing the data using the method of grounded theory, 106 concepts, 50 subcategories, and 24 categories were derived. The central phenomenon that working moms experienced in the process of work and family balance were "physical and emotional exhaustion", "anxiety and guilt about not doing well in situations of role conflicts between various roles", "job crisis experienced by working mothers" and "deepening family conflicts". The process of working moms overcoming the central phenomenon and achieving work-family balance was identified as five stages: the 'shock and confusion stage', the 'struggling stage', the 'actively coping and making compromise stages', the 'acceptance stage', and the 'post-traumatic growth stage'. Based on these results, discussions on the work-family balance of working mothers during the COVID-19 period was dealt as well as suggestions for follow-up studies.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions related to the working environment of radiological technologist who is working in small or medium-sized hospitals or clinics. The results of this study were intended to improve the working environment of radiological technologist and care for patients. For data collection, a structured questionnaire was used as a research tool, and 838 women (52.4%) were used as a general characteristic of 1,598 people subject to this questionnaire. The annual salary of radiological technologists with less than one year experience was 33.76 million won, and the average annual salary of radiological technologists with more than 10 years of experience was 41.33 million won. It showed an increased of 1.84% per year. Among 1,540 radiological technologists, 879 workers were paid holiday work allowances, 340 workers did not, and 321 holiday workers work during the week. In addition, a total of 817 workers received overtime payment, of which 112 received overtime wage on a monthly basis regardless of the overtime hours. In addition, a total of 348 radiological technologists were not paid overtime wage, and 138 workers were included in the basis salary. There were no union in 85% of the them. According to the results of this study, the wages and working environment of radiological technologists in small or medium-sized hospitals or clinics were not appropriate. Therefore, the efforts of the radiological association and its members are necessary to provide a better working environment for radiological technologists. In addition, it is expected that this study will be used as basic data for the association's policy to improve the working environment of members who work in poor conditions.
This study examined the musculoskeletal symptom experience rate of some dental clinic workers and the factors influencing musculoskeletal symptoms according to their working environment and health habit. To that end, between March 9 and March 28, 2009, 200 workers at dental clinics in Chungcheong-do were surveyed using the self-administered questionnaire method. The data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. The following conclusion was reached. 1. One-year musculoskeletal symptom experience rates of the subjects were categorized according to pans of the body: shoulders - 60.5%, lower limbs (legs, knees, and feet) - 57.0%, the lumbar region (back and waist) - 56.0%, the neck - 51.0% and the upper limbs (arms, wrists, and fingers) - 32.0%. 2. In general characteristics, a statistically significant difference was found according to gender, age, education, position, and oral health state. In working environments, a statistically significant difference was found according to work experience, the average daily number of patients handled, the average daily working hours, the posture for diagnosis, and satisfaction over work. In health habit, a statistically significant difference was found according to regular exercise, regular examination, and regular eating habit. 3. Factors influencing musculoskeletal symptoms were examined. As a result, influencing the musculoskeletal symptom experience were satisfaction over work among working environment characteristics, and regular exercise among health habit characteristics.

Background: Safety climate and occupational stress are related with occupational accident. The present study tried to identify the differences in safety climate and occupational stress according to occupational accidents experience and employment type (e.g., direct workers and subcontract workers). Methods: In this study, we conducted a survey using safety climate scale and Korean Occupational Stress Scale and classified the participants into four groups: direct workers working for accident-free departments, direct workers working for accident departments, subcontract workers working for accident-free departments, and subcontract workers working for accident departments for 2 years within the same workplace in the shipbuilding industry. Results: The direct workers and subcontract workers showed diverse results in subscales of safety climate and occupational stress. This result is supported by existing studies; however, further study is necessary for more supporting evidence and elaborative methodological approach. Conclusion: The necessity of management for safety climate and psychosocial factor such as occupational stress for both direct workers and subcontract workers as a whole is suggested by this study.
The purpose of this study was to identify the attitudes of non-commercial foodservice dietitians toward hiring older workers who are over fifty-five years of age. Questionnaires were sent to 600 members of Korea Dietitians Association who are working in Seoul, Korea, Data from 233 usable responses were analyzed using the SAS package program. The study showed that dietitians do not have a favorable perception of hiring older workers. Dictitians responded older workers have more serious accidents than younger workers(under age 30). In addition, they think than older workers are harder to train, find it more difficult to adapt to adapt to new ways of working, and are slower in their work. On the positive side, the response did show that dietitians realize that older workers are not absent from work as frequently than younger workers and that they are more cooperate than younger workers. The data also showed that those dietitians who had more positive experience with older workers also perceive the workers in more positive way than those dietitians that have had a negative experience with older workers(p<0.001). Finally, dietitians who are working in industrial foodservice showed more positive attitudes toward older workers than the dietitians who are working in hospital and school foodservice(p<0.01).
