간호사의 정서적 지지 경험 (Experience on Emotional Support of Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to explore what experiences nurses had while caring and providing emotional support for patients. Methods: Participants were eight nurses working at hospitals for more than one year. Data were collected from June, 2006 to January, 2007 through in-depth interview by using tape-recordings. Data were analysed with the phenomenological method proposed by Colazzi(1978). Results: From significant statements, 4 clustered themes, 7 themes and 23 sub-themes were extracted from the essential meaning of the emotional experience of hospital nurses. The 4 clustered themes were 'movement of mind', 'affection and service for patients', 'worthwhile and conflict' and 'control oneself'. The 7 themes were 'special feeling', 'rapport formation', 'consideration', 'human interaction', 'value discovery', 'loss of volition', and 'keep to balance'. Conclusion: Although nurses had tough experiences for providing care for patients' emotional support, they had also experienced spiritual maturity from its experience. The result of this study would contribute for nurses not only to care for patients who need emotional support but also to develop knowledge in nursing.

산업특수적 숙련과 임금 (Industry-specific skills and Wage)

  • 노동시장의 유연화와 산업구조의 급속한 변화로 노동이동(또는 일자리 상실), 특히 산업간 노동이동이 증대할 것으로 얘상된다. 노동이동(또는 일자리 상실)의 경제적 비용의 하나는 노동자가 축적한 숙련의 상실이다. 노동자가 축적하는 숙련은 일반적 숙련, 기업특수적 숙련뿐만 아니라 산업특수적 숙련의 성격도 가진다. 한국노동패널 1-2차년도 청규직 노동자를 표본으로 하여 검토한 결과, 우리나라 노동자들의 숙련이 산업특수적 숙련을 가지는 것으로 분석되었다. 근속의 임금효과의 상당 부분은 산업특수적 경험을 반영하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 산업특수적 숙련은 노동자 계층별로 차별적으로 나타나고 있다. 고학력 화이트칼라의 경우 일반적 숙련(총노동경력)이 상대적으로 더 중요하고, 저학력 블루칼라의 경우 기업특수적 숙련(근속)이 임금결정에 더 중요하다. 산업특수적 숙련은 상대적으로 고학력 화이트칼라에서 유의미하게 나타났지만, 산업을 3자리로 세분화할 경우 저학력 블루칼라의 경우에도 산업특수적 숙련의 임금효과가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 일자리 상실의 경제적 비용과 노동시장의 유연화가 숙련 형태별로, 노동자 계층별로 차별적인 의미를 지닐 수 있다는 시사점을 제공한다.

치과위생사의 의료관련법에 대한 지식 및 태도에 관한 연구 (A study on dental hygienists' knowledge and attitude towards medical related laws)

  • Objectives: This study was performed to provide a reference base to establish foundation for education about dental hygienist-related medical law and introduction of the system. Methods: A survey was conducted on 210 dental hygienists working at a dental clinic/ hospital in Jeollado. Data were analysed through chi-square test, one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, and Pearson's correlation analysis using SPSS 21.0 program. The study instruments included general characteristics of the subjects, knowledge on laws related to dental hygiene, attitude towards dental hygienist-related medical laws, level of understanding of medical related laws, and medical dispute educational hours. Results: The knowledge of dental hygienist-related medical law was high in dental hygienists aged 25 years and younger and with less than 3 years of clinical experience (p<0.05). The attitude towards the law was low in age of younger than 25 years, a three year college degree, a job position as a staff member, more than 5 years of work experience at present work place, and less than 3 years of clinical experience (p<0.05). Understanding of medical related laws was high in clinical staff members and with less than 3 years of clinical experience (p<0.05). Educational needs for medical dispute prevention was high in a job position as a staff member, low level of attitude towards dental hygienist-related medical law, and no attainment of education on medical dispute (p<0.05). Conclusions: The above results demonstrate that education and public relations about laws related with dental hygiene practice are essential. It is imperative to establish a systematic and bureaucratic legal system to prevent dental malpractice.

임상간호사의 셀프리더십과 간호조직문화가 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Clinical Nurses' Self-leadership and Nursing Organizational Culture on Nursing Performance)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 임상간호사의 셀프리더십, 간호조직문화 및 간호업무성과의 관계를 파악하고 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향요인을 분석하고자 함이다. A광역시 H병원에서 근무 중인 242명의 간호사를 대상으로 자료수집을 시행하였다. 자료수집 기간은 2016년 10월 17일부터 23일까지였다. 자료분석 방법은 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 간호업무성과와 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 인구사회학적 특성은 연령, 결혼상태, 교육수준, 직위, 임상경력, 현 부서 임상경력이었다. 위계적 다중회귀분석결과, 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향요인으로 현 부서 임상경력과 셀프리더십 중 자기기대요인으로 나타났으며 모형의 설명력은 35.7%였다. 간호업무성과를 향상시키기 위해서는 현 부서 임상경력을 높이도록 하고 간호사의 자기기대를 향상시키기 위한 교육프로그램이 필요하겠다.

Influence of operator's experience level on lifespan of the WaveOne Primary file in extracted teeth

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the influence of operator experience level on the lifespan of the WaveOne Primary file (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) in extracted teeth. Materials and Methods: Moderately curved canals of extracted maxillary and mandibular molars were randomly distributed into 2 groups: experienced and inexperienced operators. Ten files were allocated to each group (n = 10). Each canal was prepared until the working length was reached, and the same file was used to prepare additional canals until it separated. The number of canals prepared before file separation was recorded. The fragment length of each file was measured, and the location of the fragment in the canal was determined. Data were statistically analysed using the independent 2-sample t-test. Results: The 2 operators prepared a total of 324 moderately curved canals of maxillary and mandibular molars. There was no significant intergroup difference in the mean number of canals prepared (p = 0.27). The average lifespan of the WaveOne Primary file was 17.1 and 15.3 canals, and the longest lifespan was 25 and 20 canals, when used by experienced and inexperienced operators, respectively. There were no statistically significant intergroup differences in separated fragment length and location. Conclusions: Within the limitations of this study, operator experience level appears to have no effect on the lifespan of the WaveOne Primary file in preparation of moderately curved canals. Single teeth with multiple canals can be prepared safely even by a novice operator by using a single file.

병원 근무 중 간호사가 경험한 언어폭력과 정서적 반응 및 대처방안 (Experience of Verbal Abuse, Emotional Response, and Ways to Deal with Verbal Abuse against Nurses in Hospital)

  • Purpose: This study tries to identify experience of verbal abuse, emotional response, and ways to deal with verbal abuse against nurses in hospitals. Methods: This study was a descriptive research and conducted from April to July 2011. One hundred and seventeen nurses with over one-year experience in general wards were selected and evaluated. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, independent t-tests, and one-way ANOVA. Results: The nurses' experience rate of verbal abuse during the entire period of work in hospitals was 98.3%. The majority of the nurses were verbally abused by patients (70.9%), followed by patients' relatives (65.8%), physicians (61.5%), and coworkers (58.1%). Overall negative emotional response score of nurses after verbal abuse was $38.82{\pm}8.28$. Ways to deal with verbal abuse were as follows: suppression was 74.4%, complaining of an injustice to close people, 67.5%, and ignoring, 43.6%. Conclusion: Nurses have significantly been exposed to verbal abuse while working in hospitals. Therefore, hospital managers and nurse managers are required to inform other staff and visitors in hospitals the real condition of verbal abuse against nurses and provide a safe work environment by developing the report and disposal system of verbal abuse.

국립공원 안전관리전담자들의 외상 후 스트레스 실태 및 관련요인 (Post-traumatic stress and related factors among safety managers in Korea National Parks)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the current status of post-traumatic stress and related factors among safety managers in Korea National Parks. Methods: The study subjects were 109 safety managers working in Korea National Parks. General characteristics, job-related characteristics, experience of traumatic events and post-traumatic stress were collected by self-reported questionnaires through the mail. The associated factors with post-traumatic stress was analyzed by t-test, ANOVA and multiple linear regression. Results: Overall score of post-traumatic stress was $10.32{\pm}11.37$ and 12.8% was the high-risk group of post-traumatic stress disorder. In simple analysis, score of post-traumatic stress was associated with drinking frequency, disease history, duration of career, delay of rescue, provided the break, rest space and the number of experiences of traumatic events. Finally, the score of post-traumatic stress was significantly higher in subjects who experienced 3 (B=9.141, SE=3.538) or more than 4 (B=11.367, SE=3.063) traumatic events compared to subjects without experience of traumatic event. Conclusion: The score of post-traumatic stress was $10.32{\pm}11.37$ and 12.8% was the high-risk group among safety managers in Korea National Parks. Post-traumatic stress was associated with the experience of traumatic events. Management of safety managers after mobilization or experience of traumatic events will be helpful to decrease of post-traumatic stress.

환자안전 전담인력의 업무 지원을 위한 보조인력 도입에 관한 연구 (Necessity of Introducing Assistant Staff to Support Administrative Tasks Related Patient Safety)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to, present basic data on the necessity of introducing assistant staff to support administrative tasks related to patient safety. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. The participants (n=103) of this study were nurses, working at general and long-term care hospitals in Korea. Data were collected using structured questionnaires on August 29, 2019 and analyzed with SPSS 25.0. Specifically, data analysis was conducted using frequencies, mean and standard deviation, independent t-test, and X2-test. Results: Assistant staff was needed to support patient safety tasks, but this required nurses who could fully perform patient safety tasks by supplementing their work experience rather than employees who only support administrative tasks. This is because the hospital's patient safety management activities are difficult to distinguish between administrative tasks and patient safety tasks, and even nurses with five years of work experience, must be aware of the basic concepts and should have knowledge of patient safety and have gained experience in managing the patient safety activities. Conclusion: Hospitals are calling for an improvement in the system that increases the number of workers in charge of patient safety affairs and lowers their work experience, rather than the introduction of assistant staff who help with patient safety work.

주거취약계층 매입임대주택의 사례관리자 경험 (Experience of Case Management Practice for the housing vulnerable group living in public low-income housing in Seoul)

  • 본 연구는 주거취약계층 매입임대주택에서 수행되는 사례관리자의 실천 경험을 파악하는 데 목적이 있다. 노숙경험이 있는 주거취약계층에게 집이 가지는 중요성은 절대적이며, 그들이 지역사회 내에서 주민으로 살 수 있도록 지원하는 사례 관리 역시 매우 중요하다. 그럼에도 이제까지의 연구는 저렴주거 공급, 주거환경, 입주자의 삶의 질과 건강에 집중되어 있었지만 사례관리에 대한 관심은 부족하였다. 본 연구에서는 10명의 주거취약계층 매입임대주택 사례관리자의 FGI를 통하여 어떤 경험을 하였는지를 탐색하였다. 연구결과 사례관리자의 경험은 '시설 이후 독립주택생활 지원의 딜레마', '임대료 관리와 사례관리 사이의 역할 경합', '지역 연계와 협력을 향한 외로운 실천', '이중고용관계와 열악한 작업 환경'의 4가지 주제로 도출되었다. 이들의 경험을 토대로 매입임대주택 사례관리 운영을 위한 정책적 실천적 제언을 제시하였다.

방송 구성작가의 업무 정체성과 노동경험: 구성작가들의 체험이 반영된 자기기술지 분석을 중심으로 (The Work Identity and Labor Experience of the Broadcasting Scriptwriters : Focusing on the Auto-ethnography that Reflects the Experiences of the Scriptwriters)

  • 구성작가가 우리나라 방송 제작시스템에 등장하여 핵심적인 생산 주체가 된 지 40년이 넘었다. 이 연구에서는 비드라마인 교양·예능·뉴스·라디오 등 다양한 방송 장르에서 프로그램을 기획·구성하고 자료조사와 섭외, 대본 집필에 이르기까지 무수한 역할을 해온 구성작가의 업무 정체성과 노동 경험에 구체적으로 알아보았다. 현업에서 일하는 20명의 구성작가의 자기기술지를 바탕으로 구성작가의 업무 정체성과 노동 경험에 대해 알아본 결과, 구성작가들은 '없어서는 안 될' 프로그램 생산 주체이자 미디어 문화생산자로서의 정체성을 가지고 있었으며 동시에 명확하지 않은 업무 분담으로 PD가 해야 할 일들을 떠맡고 있다고 느끼고 있었다. 이러한 불평등의 원인은 제작시스템과 고용형태의 문제라고 느끼고 있었으나 개별적으로 해결할 수 없다는 것을 인식하고 자신의 능력을 키워나가거나 일을 얻기 위한 인맥을 쌓고, 무조건 최선을 다하는 태도와 자신의 영역을 확장시키는 방법으로 각자도생의 생존전략을 펼치는 것으로 나타났다.
