This study empirically analyzed the effects of employees' sense of humor on job satisfaction and turnover intention focusing on those who work for restaurants in Seoul to provide preliminary data for effective human resource management in the foodservice industry. In terms of a sense of humor, meta message sensitivity, preference for humor, emotional expression, and coping scale of a sense of humor were drawn as the factors. The findings are as follows. First, among the factors of humor, preference for humor, reaction to humor, and meta message sensibility affected job satisfaction positively in order. On the contrary, emotional expression was found not to affect it. Second, preference for humor and emotional expression affected turnover intention negatively in order whereas meta message sensibility and reaction to humor did not affect it. Therefore, based on the research result that a sense of humor affects job satisfaction and turnover intention, it is needed to recognize the importance of humor and consider evaluation on a sense of humor when screening employees.
Opening of a new economic paradigm in the transition to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the human capital engaged in industry or occupation based on individual creativity is called creative workers. The workers of this kind regards 'quality of place', known as amenity, as an important factor in choosing a residential area. This paper analyzes how the effect of city amenity influences on residential preference of creative workers in comparison with production workers. First, as of 2014, the total number of creative workers are 5.73 million (23.2% of the total workforce), and more than half (58.6%) are concentrated in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. Second, the excess residence rate of the creative workers (number of residents/number of jobs) is high in metropolitan areas. Third, when comparing with workers in productions sector, the selection of residence location for creative workers are significantly influenced by certain city amenities such as education. The outcome of analysis is expect to be utilized as a preliminary work for making policies which promotes number of creative workers at the regional level.
The current global economy is changing from a proprietary commercial economy to a shared economy of value sharing. In modern society, single-person households have become common type of households. The reason for the increase in single-person households is due to the rising age of first marriage, the increasing number of elderly people, which is a result of the extension of the average life expectancy, fewer marriages, more divorces, goose fathers, the separation between dwellings for work, etc. Especially a significant amount of single-person households is occupied by young people, which is common in large cities. Along with the increase in the number of single-person households, the youth has created a new demand for housing demand for single-person households. The purpose of this study is to identify which factors influence the preference of a share house as an alternative to a single-person household by making an empirical analysis. As a result of the analysis, the accessibility of a share house, the characteristics of the building and the facilities all had a significant effect on the preference.

And recently, it keeps up with the trend of modern and young consumers' desire by putting various images. The purpose of the study is to investigate the concept, image and present market condition and to analyze degree of consumers' brand awareness of Traditional brand in pursuit of developing new market and ensuring power between competitive brands. From above work, surveyed on degree of brand awareness and interest, preference, associable image and purchase factors coming from consumers. 606 data were analyzed with SPSS package. Frequency, Factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, Multiple response, and correlation were applied. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Traditional brand has a high degree at consumers' brand awareness but comparatively lower at interest in it. In band name, while the Burberry has the highest brand awareness, the Polo and the Hunt take first and second position in a purchasing rate. Brand preference has tendency to be concentrated on certain brands showing the outstanding highest degree like the Polo in the 20s, and the Burberry in the 50s in aspect of age structure. 2. In associable image of Traditional brand, it is associate with noble image as dignified, classical and intellectual with itself strongly among practical, individuality, confidential and noble image. 3. As the purchase factors of traditional brand products, it depends on mainly the reliability and esthetic factors like design and quality rather than ostentatious and practical factors. 4. Associable image except individuality image is correlated with the purchase factors of traditional brand.
This study's goal was to obtain basic data about the functional gowns of health care providers. 828 health care providers, including 150 doctors, 224 dentists, 202 nurses, 61 physical therapists and 191 medical technicians, living in Seoul and Daejeon areas, participated in this survey. A questionnaire was created using 15 items about the current health care providers' gowns. 15 items were consisted of 3 parts; satisfaction rate and activity (part 1), preference the details of medical gown (part 2), and personal information (part 3). In this study, "wearer activity" was the main concern for them and the majority of respondents, regardless of their age and type of work, preferred the V neckline, short gown length (waist line), loose sleeves and anti-bacterial textiles. Only the doctors preferred the full sleeves, whereas, the others preferred short sleeves. The younger health care providers showed a slightly higher preference for the slim type gown, while the older providers preferred the straight type. In this study, most health care providers were not satisfied with their current gowns, except dentists. Physical therapist answered the highest score of dissatisfied for current wearing medical gown among the all health care professionals. The 20's answered the highest score of dissatisfaction among the all generation.
Breakfast consumption is important for nutritional balance in all population groups. The objective of this study is to seek healthy Korean with continuous traditional breakfast consumption of rice. One thousand participants who go to work or school every morning were selected by stratified method and interviewed by regional home extension workers in 24 cities, Kyeonggi province, Korea. The questions included breakfast eating habits, perceived health status,and food preferences for breakfast. The students (70.5%) were composed with elementary (17.2%), middle school(15.7%), high school(16.5%), and university(21.l%)students. The rest 29.5% were workers. The recognized importance of eating breakfast was negatively correlated with the perceived health status. It means that lowering health status made them recognize the importance of breakfast. Workers had more boiled rice with side dishes for breakfast(58.6%) than students (40.2%). The reasons of selected items for breakfast were habit (28.5%), and health (14.6%). The propensity of convenience and preference was more frequent in male workers than male students. For breakfast, ready-to-eat food (rice-roll or rice ball, retort rice, and fast-food) preferred more in middle & high school students, but boiled rice with side dishes was preferred more in workers. Boiled rice with divers cereals was selected for main dish in workers, however boiled rice only in students if obliged. We suppose the problem in next decade would be skipped breakfast in regular attendance position. For breakfast with ready-to-eat rice or something to eat in short time, students and workers should be educated to those who are too busy to eat breakfast for the enhancement of human resources.
The number of calling ports has been decreased and the degree of inter- and intra-port competition has been increased, which is caused by the market trends that shipping liners have and operate their own terminals, strategic M & A frequency occurs among shipping liners, and container vessel size is increasing. The trends also cause shipping liners to change the evaluation factors for decision to call a particular port such as port preference, potential for growth, port competitiveness, etc. Since the decision of liners greatly influences the policies for port and terminal development, it is worth having interest in the evaluation factors. Therefore, this work intended to evaluate 8 major ports (Port of Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Busan, Rotterdam, Kaoshing, and Tokyo) with regard to liners' evaluation factors (calling port preference, potential for growth and port competitiveness) and to classify ports by similarity of evaluation factors with the methodologies of ANOVA analysis and Duncan test. The result shows implication for liners' viewpoint to evaluate major ports in the world.
The purpose of this study was to examine the state of career and employment among dental hygiene students in an attempt to get an accurate grip on their preparation for career and employment. And it's also meant to help improve the efficiency of guidance by dental hygiene education institutions for career and employment. The subjects in this study were every dental hygiene student at three different colleges. After a self-administered survey was conducted, the following findings were given: 1. In regard to the future prospects of dental hygienist, 44.2 percent of the students investigated believed that there would be a bright future for dental hygienist, and 55.8 percent didn't agree to that or considered the prospects to be neither bright nor bleak. 2. As to the motivation of choosing the department of dental hygiene, 51.2 percent thought that it was easy for dental hygienists to get a job, and 22.2 percent wanted to be a professional. 3. Concerning preference for workplace, they hoped to work in a hospital-sized or larger institutions including dental hospitals. As to the reason why they wanted a job, 76.2 percent had their sight set on standing on their own feet. 4. As for the top priority for employment, they took interpersonal relationship into account the most(3.63), followed by aptitude(3.52) and working conditions/environments(3.51). 5. In terms of job values by academic year, all the freshmen, sophomores and juniors attached the most importance to interpersonal relationship. By academic standing in the previous semester, the students who got an A, B or C put more value on human relations, and those who got a D gave more weight to social status and fame. The gap between them was statistically significant. As for the impact of the high schools they graduated from, they took the most statistically significant consideration on interpersonal relationship irrespective of their alma mater.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the recognition of and the preference for a fashion specialist among students from 4-year and 2-year colleges in Taegu, in order to provide basic data for the effective management methods for the students. The objects of the survey were students in Taegu and Kyungbuk province; 287 students from 4-year colleges and 430 students from 2-year colleges, making the total of 717 students. The survey tool was a questionnaire, which consists of 7 general questions, 7 major curriculum related questions, and 6 questions regarding the information about a fashion specialist, and students career plan. It also contains 3-level Licurt type questionnaire on the recognition of and the preference for a fashion specialist from 20 professional fields. SPSS is used for frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, $x^2$-test and ANOVA. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The students' motivation in choosing their major as clothing and fashion design was out of independent career plan (86.7%). They were quite content with their major but were unsatisfactory with the current curriculum. 2. The subjects students thought necessary in preparing to be a fashion specialist were pattern, clothing construction (40.1%), clothing design (33.7%), and fashion marketing (18.9%). The answer to the question about the most important subject in the future was fashion marketing (57.2%). 3. What students consider most in choosing a job was aptitude and ability (70.8%). The most preferable clothing types that students want to work with after graduation were womens clothing (52.1%) and wedding dress (18.1%). 4. The means of getting information on a fashion specialist were magazines or broadcasting (72%) and school lectures (20.6%), and there was a significant deference among colleges. 5. Fashion coordinator was the highest recognized specialist (2.64) and the lowest was fashion converter (1.23) among other fashion specialists. 4-year college students had higher recognition in all areas (20 areas) than 2-year college students, and there was a significant deference among colleges in 20 areas.
Planning railferry system in Korea-China trade routes, the overall evaluation and customer response are coming under spotlight in a preference and feasibility perspective. Persistent Railferry issue has been an area of study for the last decade. But until now, a surveyor or the evaluation from the actual users were exceptionally rate. Consequently, there is a need for a more detailed study into the practical issues such as customer response and railferry demand etc. Using a questionnaire survey from actual users, this paper examines the underlying evaluation on the Railferry system both in terms of demand and preference. The research questions were analyzed on data collected from almost 150 users in Korea. A range of arguments and expected problems were summarized. The results in general find a negative relationship between railferry preference and respondents' work experience. Findings in the reasons respondents are objecting the new railferry system, the suitable cargo type of railferry, and the possible barriers to introduce the system are discussed. Nonetheless further researches into railferry system as a possible alternative for Korea-China-Japan corridor should be followed in the near future.
