Time Use Analysis of Married Paid Workers by Employment Types

  • Purpose - This study aims to analyze time use of employees to see how they make a balance between work and family. We tried to analyze time use and time pressure of married paid workers in order to understand their work and family balance. Methodology - Time use was compared by employment types and time pressure groups. We analyzed the factors influencing time pressure, dividing two employment types. The data were selected from the 2009 Korean Time Use Survey. Results - Those who feel time pressure among full-timers spent more time on work and housework and less time on personal care and leisure than those who do not feel time pressure. Logit analysis on time pressure showed that full-timers feel more time pressure than part-timers do. Gender, age, education, income, day-off type, and the presence of preschool children were significant variables on time pressure. Conclusion - These results imply that time use and time pressure for married paid workers are affected by employment types. Flexibility of labor needs to enhance work and family balance for females who have preschool children.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether paid work time desynchronization affected housework time desynchronization. Time slot data from the Korean Time Use Survey data from 2014 was analyzed. This study included 1,475 married couples aged 20 to 59. They were dual-earner couples, heterosexual couples, and both partners worked during the day, either durong the week or on the weekend. The data was analyzed by the following four groups: weekday-husband, weekday-wife, and weekend-husband, weekend-wife. The results demonstrated that as the desynchronization of paid work increased, the desynchronization of time spent on housework in the weekday-husband and weekend-husband groups also increased. Second, the amount of leisure time did not affect the desynchronization of time spent on housework. Lastly, the amount of time that one person spent on housework increased the housework time desynchronization level. In addition, if the family had children who attended primary, middle, or high school-mothers in the weekday-wife group completed more housework. These results demonstrated that paid work time desynchronization might be a way to decrease the amount of time that dual-earner wives' spent housework.

공공도서관 사서의 일과 삶의 균형이 조직몰입 및 이직의도에 미치는 영향: MZ세대를 중심으로 (A Study on the Effects of Librarians' Work-Life Balance on Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intention in Public Libraries: Focusing on Generation MZ)

  • 본 연구는 공공도서관의 MZ세대 사서들을 중심으로 일과 삶의 균형이 조직몰입 및 이직의도에 미치는 영향과 조직몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 수도권 공공도서관에 근무하는 1980년~2005년생 사서 183명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 일과 삶의 균형의 하위 요인인 일-가족 균형, 일-여가 균형, 일-성장 균형과 조직몰입, 이직의도를 조사하였다. 다중회귀분석 결과, 일-가족 균형, 일-성장 균형은 조직몰입에 유의한 정적(+) 영향을, 이직의도에 유의한 부적(-) 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 조직몰입은 이직의도에 유의한 부적(-) 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 일-가족 균형, 일-성장 균형을 강화하는 정책과 함께 공공도서관의 야간 및 주말 근무에 대하여 정책적인 보상이 필요하다고 제안하였다. 또한, 조직몰입을 강화하기 위하여 수평적인 의사소통과 자율권 강화 등을 제안하였다.

청년농업인의 직무스트레스가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 - 근로시간의 조절효과 - (The Effect of Job Stress on the Quality of Life of Y oung Farmers - Moderating Effects of Work Hours -)

  • This study aims to examine the moderating effects of work hours between job stress and quality of life of young farmers. A survey was conducted on 618 young farmers for one month from July 1, 2022. The main analysis results are as follows. First, quality of life and job stress, quality of life and work hours had a negative correlation, and job stress and work hours had a positive correlation. Second, work hours were found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between job stress and quality of life. Third, as a result of identifying the area of significance of work hours, it was found that work hours played a role in moderating the relationship between quality of life and job stress when work hours were longer than 1.327 hours. Fourth, as a result of visualizing the moderating effect by dividing work hours into three groups: high, medium, and low, it was found that even if the level of job stress was the same, the farmers with long work hours perceived their quality of life to be worse than those with shorter work hours. It can be said that in order for young farmers to settle down and live stably in agriculture and rural areas as professionals, it is very important to actively develop and support policies to improve the working environment in the agricultural sector that can secure time to enjoy culture and leisure and relieve job stress.

  • The launch of KTX (Korea Train Express) has brought the changes of people's life. People can get more time to work or enjoy leisure comfortably because the transfer time is decreased. According to these changes, the role of normal trains and express trains' drivers is getting more important. The purpose of this study is to suggest the advanced vision of Korean railway through comparing the domestic driver's qualification requirements of normal trains and express trains with international ones which are more developed.

근로자의 작업중 신체적활동량과 건강증진행위와의 관계 (A Study on the Relationship between the Amount of Physical Activities at Work Perceived by Workers and Their Health Promotion Behaviors)

  • The purpose of this study is to grasp the relationship between the amount of physical activities at work perceived by workers and their health promotion behaviors. To achieve such a purpose. this survey was conducted on 476 Workers who work for 3 food product work-sites located in Keong-in area by means of questionnaire from June 15 to July 14 . 1998. Collected data were statistically analyzed by SPSS/WlN. The significant results were obtained as follows. 1. The average scores of the amount of physical activities at work and health promotion behavior were 3.18 and 2.84 respectively; the former was slightly higher than moderate score 2.5 and the latter was almost the same as it. It can be interpreted that workers perceive their physical activities at work are heavier than their daily activities, which seems to make their health promotion behaviors still inactivated. 2. The amount of physical activities at work, it was were greater revealed that the more activities workers do after work. the more they walk and the more exercises they do. It implies that the voluntary practice of good health habit at leisure can be greatly contributed to the activation of more productive activity at work. 3. The amount of health promotion behaviors was larger as workers do more physical activities at work and have lower PIBW(Percent Ideal Body Weight). It means that the voluntary practice of good health habit is closely related to the degree of obesity and their positive attitude toward their work. Average PIBW was 106.71; most of the workers are distributed within the standard range in their weight. So we can presume that most of them are not seriously conscious of weight maintenance in their daily lives. Therefore it is desirable that health promotion program for workers should be developed toward connecting their physical activities at work with those in their daily lives much more. 변화된 노인의 라이프스타일에 따른 노인복지관 여가프로그램 및 공간구성 연구 - 광주광역시 사례를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Leisure Programs and Programs Organization of Space in Senior Welfare Center according to Senior Citizens' Changed Life Style - Focused on the case of Gwangju Metropolitan City -)

  • Senior citizens' new life style has appeared according to the massive retirement of the baby boom generation since 2010. Consequently, Senior Welfare Centers, the provider of elderly leisure programs, has been asked for the programs and spaces which are able to meet the changing life style of the elderly. This study focuses on the survey for current status of leisure programs in accordance with the changing life style and on the investigation for sensible usage of space in senior welfare centers in Gwangju Metropolitan city. The result shows the portion of the programs which every center provides is quite different according to the life style. The program types for challenge and utility are provided 192 times a week and the program types for health and sociality 133 times a week. Both types shows high frequency of supply and use of the program especially 85 times of information-oriented education, 64 times of musical instruments, and 42 times of foreign language are supplied vividly. On the contrary, the program types for fashion and self-management and the program types for volunteer work and achievement are insufficient, so It should be reconsidered to establish the programs and to supply the space for the program from now on. The current status for spatial usage shows that most of the centers share a space for several programs. It means that the space of the Senior Welfare Center is limited and various programs should be run in the narrow space. High frequency programs like the program types for challenge and utility secure sufficient spaces not to miscarry the use for the programs. The center of case B has well equipped and large space and provides proper space for each programs to meet the demand of the senior citizens. Like these, Senior Welfare Centers in Gwangju Metropolitan city have supported Senior citizens' Life Style by supplying various leisure programs to meet the demand for it. This research could be used as the basis for the programs about the spatial utilization in accordance with various future life style of Senior citizens'.

온라인 교육 수용 환경에서 시니어들의 디지털 행동 이해: 근거이론 적용 (Understanding Seniors' Acceptance and Usage for Online Education Program: Based on Grounded Theory)

  • This study conducted a qualitative study on 23 seniors over 55 years old to understand the digital behavior of seniors in the online education acceptance environment. Grounded Theory methodology was applied to the initial enrollment behavior, login behavior, and utilization behavior of online education program. Through the process of open coding, axis coding, and selective coding, the framework in the online education environment of the senior generation was finally derived. As a causal conditions for the senior generation to participate in the online education environment, goal orientation, relationship orientation, leisure orientation and external compulsory were derived, and shadow work appeared as the central phenomenon. Also, contextual conditions resulted in social change, physical and cognitive aging, and psychological atrophy. The intervening conditions included digital device acceptance, educational attitudes, environmental factors, and self-efficacy. Based on this, the action/interactions strategy formed a positive and negative attitude toward shadow work. As a result, positive response behavior, compromising behavior, and shadow work avoidance behavior were shown. It is hoped that this study will be reflected in future researches for the use of digital devices of the elderly and the expansion of online education participation and government policy.

기혼취업여성의 일-가정 균형 실태 : 초등학교 저학년생 자녀를 둔 가정을 중심으로 (A study for the balance between Work and Family of married working women : focused on the families with the child(ren) of lower grades)

  • This study investigate the balance between work and family of married working women. Data from 12 married working women who have child(ren) in age 7-9. was collected through in-depth interviews. The interviews was to examine their child-caring and the balance between work and family. The results show that the child(ren)'s age, the quality of after school program, the time to go to work and out of work, the type of work and labor flexibility were the important factors which affect the everyday child-caring. The respondents were unsatisfied with their balance between work and family, especially they felt that their leisure time is insufficient, but they seemed to accept this unbalance to some extent because they recognize the child-caring is more important than their balance between work and family in this life cycle. In conclusion the public support for the child-caring of dual-earner families with the child(ren) in lower grades has to be more extended because the support system and services for this life cycle are weak and insufficient compared with the support system for the child(ren) of the preschool ages. The currently public services for child-caring are still far from their needs to achieve the balance between work and family. So the whole child care support policies and systems are to be continued with more balanced perspectives and practical programs.

  • KIA는 호평의 Bongo-9을 기본 model로 하여 도시형 다목적 leisure car인 Bongo-town을 개 발하게 되었다. TX엔진은 Bongo-town 탑재용으로 기존 1.3l TC 엔진을 volume-up 하여 전 회전 영역에서 괄목할 성능향상을 보였으며 특히 탑재차량의 특성을 고려하여 저속영역 torque를 강조하였고 부품호환성 및 생산 설비의 공용화에도 주력했다. 주요 개발내용은, 1) Cooling passage 개선 및 full siamese화 2) Piston과 connecting rod의 신설계 3) Piston 조합의 semi floating화 4) Cam shaft profile 선정 및 valve timing 변경 5) Distributor 최적진각특성 결정 6) Carburetor 개발 7) Torque limited fan and fan drive 채용 등이다. 상기내용중 중요한 몇가지를 기술하고자 한다.
