  • Background: This study aims to analyze the job stress of dental hygienists and the factors affecting somatization and to provide basic data for effectively managing job stress and somatization of dental hygienists. Methods: In this study, the data collected from 208 dental hygienists working in Jeollabuk-do Province were analyzed. Job stress was investigated using a questionnaire with 43 questions. In addition, the degree of somatization was evaluated through a simplified psychotherapy examination (Symptom Check List-90-Revision). Results: Age, employment history, position, average monthly income, night duty execution status, and perceived health status were significantly associated with job stress (p<0.05). The job stress sub-items scores based on general characteristics showed significance in 'workload' for those working a five-day workweek and perceived health status (p<0.05). Age, average monthly income, and perceived health status were noted in 'role conflict as a professional'. In 'lack of expertise and skill', it was noted that age, employment history, position, income, and night clinic were implemented. In 'improper treatment and interpersonal issues', level of education and perceived health status were significant (p<0.05). The higher the job stress, the higher the somatization symptom score (p<0.05), and the higher the job stress component, the higher the somatization symptom score (p<0.01). Conclusion: The job stress of dental hygienists should be reduced, and the symptoms of somatization should be mitigated. To improve the quality of medical services and the work efficiency of dental hygienists, proper treatment and compensation systems should be implemented for them to take pride as professional. • Plasma ceramic spray that is applied on a machine part under severe work conditions has been investigated for tribological behavior. The application of ceramic coatings by plasma spray has become essential in tribosystems to produce wear resistance and long life in severe conditions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the wear characteristics of $8\%Y_{2}O_3-ZrO_2$ coating, in view of the effect of post-spay heat treatment. The plasma-sprayed $8\%Y_{2}O_3-ZrO_2$ coating was studied to know the relationship between phase transformations and wear behavior related to post-spray heat treatment. Wear test was carried out with ball on disk type on normal loads of 50N,70N and 90N under room temperature. The phase transformation of phase and the value of residual stress were measured by X-ray diffraction method(XRD). Tribological characteristics and wear mechanisms of coatings were observed by SEM. The tribological wear performance was discussed in the focusing of residual stress. Consequently, post-spray heat treatment plays an important role in decreasing residual stress. Residual stress in the coating system has a significant influence on the wear mechanism of coating.

  • Background: Since the presence of a co-driver can be considered as a companion, partner, or friend for a driver through eliminating driver's loneliness, it plays a significant role in health and safety of drivers. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of co-drivers on depression and occupational stress on male truck drivers. Methods: This study was an interventional case-control study. Seventy truck drivers were selected and divided into two groups: case (33 truck drivers with co-drivers) and control (37 truck drivers without codrivers). Two Goldberg depression inventories (for evaluating driver's depression) and the Karasek job content questionnaire (for evaluating driver's job stress) were used to collect data which were completed by interview. Results: The results showed that job content values for the case group were higher in all dimensions except job nature. The comparison of the percentages showed significant difference between two groups. Depression rate in drivers with co-driver is truly less than depression rate in drivers without co-driver. There was significant positive relationship between dimensions of job content and depression rate. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it can be claimed that a co-driver decreases stress and loneliness of drivers, as well as increases work performance and job satisfaction, and, in turn, leads to a decrease in job-related depression.

  • Typical symptoms of rheumatic disease affect overall daily living and cause severe stress. Individuals afflicted with rheumatic disease have many illness-related stresses. Pain was the predominantly perceived stress followed by limitation in mobility, difficulties in carrying out activities of daily living. helplessness, dependency on others, threat to self-esteem, interference in social activity, interference in family relationships. difficulties performing at work, and discomfort of the treatment. Patients with chronic arthritis are subjected to long periods of continuous stress, which may require the management by the health care provider. In these cases, the purpose of the nursing is helping to promote health through supporting patient's coping. Therefore, for the nursing intervention to be effective, it is critical to build a theoretical framework that describes stress-coping for chronic arthritis. Thus, the purpose of this dissertation is to present a theoretical framework which describes the stress-coping processes and to empirically test pathos of this framework for the people with chronic arthritis. The foundation upon which this framework is built in the Erickson, Tomlin, and Swain(1983) theory of Modeling and role-Modeling. The subjects were 275 patients with rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis who visited the outpatient clinic. A hypothetical model of stress-coping was tested by covariance structure analysis with PC-LISREL 8.12 program. As a result, the overall fit was good(Chi-square=94.49, P=0.00, RMR=0.067, GFI=0.95, AGFI=0.91, NNFI=0.93, NFI=0.91) for the hypothetical model. The results of hypothesis testing were as follows : Basic need satisfaction had a statistically significant influence on illness-related experience, emotional stress and coping resources. Internal health locus of control had a statistically significant influence on coping resources. However, independent variables(basic need satisfaction, internal health locus of control, illness-related experience, emotional stress and coping resource) did not have significantly influence on coping. And then, the hypothetical model was modified by considering both the theoretical implication and statistical significance of the parameter estimates. The revised model had a better fit to the data(Chi-square=83.11(P=0.00), RMR=0.061, GFI=0.96, AGFI=0.92, NNFI=0.95, NFI=0.92). Hypothesis emerged from the revised model was tested. The results of hypothesis testing were as follows : Basic need satisfaction had a statistically significant influence on illness-related experience, emotional stress and coping resources. Internal health locus of control had a statistically significant influence on illness-related experience and coping resources. Internal health locus of control, illness-related experience, emotional stress and coping resources had a significantly influence on coping. According to the results of this dissertation, basic need satisfaction and internal health locus of control play a central role in appraisal of illness-related experience and coping resources. And illness related-experience, emotional stress, and coping resources affect on coping activities. In summary, nursing interventions to enhance basic need satisfaction and internal health locus of control will decrease illness related experience and emotional stress and increase coping resources. Increased coping resources will prompt coping activities.

  • The seal plays a role in preventing oil leakage when the lip and the rotating shaft come into contact with the fluid and air pressure. Recently, micro dimples or micro pockets are processed and used on the lubrication surfaces of thrust bearings, mechanical bearings, and piston rings. Compared to a smooth surface, micro dimples reduce friction and increase the life of parts. This paper analyzed various kinds of micro dimple shapes on the sealing surface, i.e. circle, rectangle, triangle, and trapezoid. For this purpose, Introduced the design of experiments to work out a micro dimple configuration, unlikely to be damaged from cracks and low in contact stress. As a result, the triangular dimple showed the best results. Optimal factors were dimple size 0.15 mm, dimple depth 0.0383 mm, dimple density 40%, and the maximum equivalent stress was 9.1455 MPa, and the maximum contact pressure was 9.6612 MPa. This paper analyzed the optimal shape of dimples by finite element analysis. As a research project, experiments and comparative analysis of micro dimple shapes are needed.

  • Using an instrument validated in an antecedent study, this study explored the effect of counseling and working environment variables on burnout in child counselors. The 191 counselors of this study worked with children under 18 years of age. Data were analyzed by Cronbach's a, quantification methods I. Counseling and working environment variables have 33% of ad-$R^2$ over the total score of burnout in child counselors. Variables contributing to burnout were workload, position in an institution, income from counseling, theoretical approach, and job stress. Counselors with 1-5 cases per week, working independent of an institution and using a single theory of counseling experienced more burnout, and counselors without challenge on the job, excessive role conflict, role ambiguousness, and excessive workload experienced more burnout.
