대구 동천동 청동기시대 취락유적 출토 목질류 수종 분석 연구 (Study of the Species of Trees Used for Wooden Artifacts Excavated from a Bronze-Age Settlement Site in Dongcheon-dong, Daegu)

  • 대구 칠곡지구 일대 유적은 청동기시대 및 삼국시대 대규모 취락지가 확인된 고고학적 조사로 그 의의가 크다. 특히 대구 동천동 취락유적에서는 청동기시대 수혈주거지, 고상건물지, 석관묘, 우물, 집수기, 집석, 구상유구, 경작지, 환호, 하도 등의 유구가 확인되어 청동기시대 당시 취락의 전모를 알 수 있는 많은 자료가 조사되었다. 본 조사는 대구 동천동 취락유적 내 청동기시대 하도 유구 출토 목기 8점에 대한 수종분석 결과이다. 조사 결과, 침엽수재 수종인 소나무류(Pinus spp.)가 2점, 전나무속(Abies spp.) 수종이 2점, 활엽수재 수종인 상수리나무류(Quercus sp.)가 4점 식별되었다. 용도미상으로 분류된 3점의 목기는 소나무류와 전나무속 수종이였으며, 건축부재 5점은 소나무류가 1점, 상수리나무류가 4점이었다.

제5중족골 제1, 2구역 골절의 비수술적 치료 결과 (Results of Non-Operative Treatment of the Zone I, II Fifth Metatarsal Base Fracture)

  • Purpose: To evaluate the results of conservative treatment of zone I, II $5^{th}$ metatarsal base fracture. Materials and Methods: Between May 2004 and June 2010, a total of 58 patients of zone I, II $5^{th}$ metatarsal base fractures were included in this study. The mean length of follow-up was 13.5 months (12~36 months). All of the patients were treated with full-weight-bearing short leg cast immobilization for 4 weeks and wooden sole shoes for 4 weeks. The results were evaluated about the radiographic union, the midfoot scale of American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), the tenderness on fracture site and other complications. Results: All patients were able to return to their prior levels of activity. The mean time for union as shown on radiographs was 45.5 days, and the mean midfoot scale of AOFAS was 99.7 points. There were no nonunions or refractures during the follow-up. Conclusion: The conservative treatment with full-weight-bearing short leg cast and wooden sole shoes seems to give good results for zone I, II $5^{th}$ metatarsal base fracture.

조선산업 합판 폐기물의 구조용재로의 재활용 가능성에 대한 연구 (Study on the Possibility of Recycling for Shipbuilding Plywood Waste to Use as the Structural Members)

  • 목재 자원의 부족과 가격 상승에 대항할 수 있는 좋은 대안 중 하나가 목재 부산물이나 폐기물의 재활용이다. 조선 산업에서 얻어지는 목재 폐기물의 경우 기존에는 파쇄 되어 보드류 생산에 주로 사용되어 왔다. 하지만 파쇄를 통한 합판 폐기물의 재활용은 재료의 경제적 가치나 자원의 문제 등을 고려할 때 아쉬움이 많이 남는 처리 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 국내 조선 산업에서 파생되는 목재 폐기물들의 재활용 가능성을 알아보고자 하였다. 국내 조선 산업의 목재 관련 폐기물은 합판 폐기물과 소재 폐기물로 나뉜다. 본 연구를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 1. KS 규격에 따라 합판 폐기물과 합판 적층재의 휨성능을 평가하였다. 2. 합판 폐기물과 합판 적층재의 파괴 모드는 두 종류 모두 simple tension 파괴를 나타내었다. 3. 합판 폐기물과 합판 적층재의 재활용 용도로는 크게 외부 시설용, 내부 시설용 그리고 목조건축 자재로의 용도가 적합하다고 판단되었다. 적정 용도로는 인테리어 재료, 목재 파렛트, 마루판, 사이딩재, 판넬, 야외용 탁자, 데크용 재료 등인 것으로 생각된다.

서울 화계사 대웅전 목부재의 수종 및 연륜연대 분석 (Species Identification and Tree-Ring Analysis of Wooden Elements in Daewoong-jeon of Hwagye-temple, Seoul, Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 서울 화계사 대웅전의 목부재에 대한 수종과 연륜연대분석을 진행하여 재질과 정확한 건축역사를 조사하고자 하였다. 대웅전 목부재(27점)의 수종은 대부분 소나무속 중 경송류로 식별되었고, 대보 1점만 전나무속으로 식별되었다. 연륜연대분석은 코어링법을 이용하여 시료 채취하였으며, TSAP 프로그램을 이용하여 크로스데이팅 하였다. 연륜연대분석 결과, 보와 기둥과 같은 구조재 20점들에 대한 최외각 연도는 1839년에서 1870년으로 확인되었다. 그 중 수피가 존재하는 5점의 벌채연도는 1869년과 1870년으로 나타내어, 2012년 실측조사에서 종도리 복장물에서 확인된 중건기록(1870년)과 일치하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

신장(新疆) 위구르자치구 지역의 불탑형식 - 『대당서역기(大唐西域記)』의 기록과 현존 유구를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Stupas in Xinjiang Uyghur Area - Focused on Da Tang Xi-Yu-Ji(大唐西域記) and Stupa Remains -)

  • This study examines the process of the introduction of stupa, which has originated in India, to the Xinjiang Uyghur region and the features of the stupas in the Xinjiang Uyghur region in detail. This study examines the layout of the buildings in temple compounds and the types, structural elements, and construction methods of the stupas in the Xinjiang Uyghur region in particular by looking into the content of the Da Tang Xi Yu Ji and remaining stupas, which provide examples of stupas at the time. This study finds that due to the characteristics of dry deserts, stupas in Xinjiang Uyghur region, where assimilation between Eastern and Western cultures is seen, were mostly made by pressing clay into a mold and had no interior spaces. Also, construction materials and techniques had been developed and improved in a way that enabled stupas to combat the challenging desert conditions. However, the stupas in this region differed significantly from the wooden tower-like stupas discovered in central China(zhongyuan 中原). The shape of the dome of most stupas in Xinjiang Uyghur region was chosen under the influence of the Gandharan style. Some of the stupas in the region have taken the general forms of the wooden stupas and the others have taken many forms, from cylindrical drums to towers. Also, there have been forests of stupas and stupas similar in form to chaityas and stupas of Vajrayana. Such different forms were transformed and modified through regional history and it was related to the peoples and cultures that produced and used stupas. Stupas evolved into distinct forms in Xinjiang Uyghur region in this way.

Environmental Suitability for Conservation and the Risk Period for Fungal Damage of Wooden Cultural Heritages in Korea

  • This study applied a real-time IoT (Internet of Things) environmental monitoring system to wooden cultural heritages (WCHs) located in suburbs and forests in Korea. It automated the graphs of seasonal Temperature (T) and relative humidity (RH) changes inside the heritage structures and seasonal Performance Index (PI) values. While utilizing line graphs of the existing T and RH change trends and a bar graph expressing the PI values, this study examined the current status of the conservation environment inside the WCHs throughout the year and its diagnosis. Consequently, at higher latitudes, the organic cultural heritage repeatedly experienced large T fluctuations, and the risk of physical and chemical degradation of the materials was greater. However, the RH showed significant seasonal differences, even within the same latitude, indicating that the impact of latitude was not significant. Therefore, the staff in charge must manage RH by considering the surrounding environmental conditions and adjusting the internal environment of the structures. The PI values for the year-round T and RH inside the heritages were confirmed to only be a maximum of approximately 60% of the environmental suitability for conservation throughout the year, depending on the season. The relationship between the germination and growth potential period of xerophilic fungi and the monthly internal temperature and humidity in five heritages located at different latitudes was analyzed. As a result, we could thus determine that four particular months of the year (June-September) represent the periods with the highest risk of damage from xerophilic fungi in the country, regardless of latitude.

현장 적용이 가능한 X선 CT 시스템 개발 I - X선 촬영법을 이용한 목재의 밀도 측정 - (Development of Portable X-ray CT System I - Evaluation of Wood Density using X-ray Radiography -)

  • 국내에서 문화재로 지정되어 관리되고 있는 많은 목조 고건축물들의 효과적인 보존 및 관리를 위해서는 목재의 내부 상태를 정확하게 평가할 수 있든 비파괴 검사법이 요구된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 현장에서 적용 가능한 X선 CT 시스템을 개발하기 위한 연구의 일환으로, 먼저 휴대형 soft-X선 촬영 장치를 사용한 목재의 밀도측정 방법을 확립하고 그 적용 가능성을 확인하고자 하였다. 먼서 측정방법을 확립하기 위하여 X선 강도와 필름명도 사이의 상관관계를 분석하였으며, 또한 관전류와 관전압의 변화에 따른 X선 초기강도의 변화를 확인하여 정량화 하였다. 다음으로 목재의 밀도와 연륜각, 두께가 질량감쇠계수에 미치는 영향을 확인하고, 목재의 침량감쇠계수를 결정하여 Beer의 법칙에 적용함으로써 X선 측정결과로부터 목재의 밀도를 계산할 수 있는 식을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 X선 촬영법을 통해 측정한 밀도를 기존의 치수법에 의한 측정결과와 비교함으로써 앞에서 결정된 밀도측정 방법의 작용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이상의 결과는 앞으로 개발하고자 하는 X선 CT 시스템에서 입력값으로 요구되는 밀도를 측정하는 방법을 확립하는데 있어서 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

석조유구(石造遺構)를 통한 한국(韓國) 고대건축(古代建築)에 관한 연구(硏究) -삼국시대와 통일신라시대를 중심으로- (A Study on the Ancient Architecture in view of the Stone Remains (focused on the 3 Kingdom Period and Unificated Shilla Period))

  • The purpose of this study is to analogize the appearance of Korean Ancient Architecture in view of the Stone Remains from 3 Kingdom Period to Unificated Shilla Period. But in these period, there is no building remains but some stupas and fine arts. Especially, there are many architectural appearance and revealing signature in these Historical Stone remains. Architectural elements which are analogized by stone remains what has value as historical materials by preservation of original form from 3 Kingdom Preiod to Unificated Shilla Period are as follows : 1) Platform, the representative characteristic of Korean traditional architecture, was frame structure and accumulate structure. And circular or square footing stood a same shape column on it is put on the platform. 2) In the case of column, there used entasis column and inclined column and circular chamfer technique was applied on the top side of it. Upper side of column, capital and head pentrating tie that small bearing block was put on the center of it was joined. And longitu야nal rest(長舌) supported a cross beam. Capital and small bearing block had no bottom heel, and heel side was curved and straight. Centered bracket structure was often used, and multi bracket structure is not used yet. Inward incline technique was used. 3) Inward opening pair door which had lintel, threshold, doorjamb was usually used, Fixing stone was used for structural safety, and circular handle and lock was used for decoration. Handrail was used on the edge of wooden floor for decorative effect and safety. 4) Square rafter and circular rafter were used in the same period and so did flying rafter. Double eaves and single eave were used in the same period but, single eave was usually used. In this period, square rafter was usually used. This would be studied more by comparing with Japanese wooden architecture. 5) Hipped roof was used and half-hipped roof was not used yet. In front of th hip, there are small sculpture called Jap-Sang(雜像), and windbell was hang on the end of the hip rafter. Concave roof tile, convex roof tile, round eaver tile, decorative tile at end of roof ridge were used. Lotus style was well used on the face of roof tile for decoration. From the results of this study, wooden architecture of Unificated Shilla period was simple compare to Koryo dynasty and Chosun dynasty but, it had some brilliant character. It was hard work that analogized the form of non-existent wood architecture of Ancient Korean period by restricted stone remains. But, in addition to the results of this study and research of old documentations, more study should be go on.

유전가열 마이크로파를 적용한 방수·방염 내장목재 개발을 위한 기초적 연구 (A Fundamental Study for Development on Waterproof and Flame Retardant processing technology the Interior Wood of using Induced electricity heating Microwave)

  • Qualitative enhancement of dwelling life has changing the recognition for the environment friendly wood which is being highlighted for its usage as an interior materials. This trend may prove the excellent performance of wood whose inherent characteristics has its comfortable, mild feeling of material, sound resistance and stabilities and the market of interior woods including floor, moulding and wooden panel as finishing interior materials is growing sustainably. However, since this materials is vulnerable to humidity and flame, waterproofing and flame retarding stability, an essential condition for interior materials, together with maintenance, are the main topics to be resolved. From the above-mentioned results, as a result of waterdrop contact angle, wood absorption volume and water content percentage test and the performance test of the processed materials after flame retardant, though there was some submerging time changes among types of woods for ensuring waterproofing performance improvement but as time passes, similar tendency was noticed to be formulated. As the submerging time is increased, so does the absorption volume and accordingly optimal level of range is judged to be drawn in order to ensure excellent performance, taking optimal economy into consideration. Therefore, it is considered that above-mentioned woods could be utilized for waterproof and flame retardant processed interior materials using uniform microwave and in order to put this technology into practical application, a research by way of diversified performance proving is required to be carried out.

CLT의 rolling shear 향상을 위한 hybrid cross laminated timber 연구 동향 (Research Trends in Hybrid Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) to Enhance the Rolling Shear Strength of CLT)

  • 본 연구는 고층 목조건축에 사용되는 대형 목재 패널인 CLT의 낮은 rolling shear strength를 개선하기 위해 hybrid CLT의 연구 개발 동향을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 CLT의 국산화를 위한 연구개발 방향에 활용 가능한 기초자료를 마련하고자 하였고, 낮은 rolling shear strength를 향상시키기 위한 방안으로 활엽수 층재 사용, 층재 배열 각도 변화, 구조용 목질복합체의 사용이 주를 이루고 있다. 활엽수 층재는 침엽수 보다 rolling shear strength와 shear modulus 모두 2배 이상의 높은 값을 나타내므로 활엽수 층재 사용 및 미이용 수종의 활용이 가능함을 확인하였다. 층재 배열 각도 변화에 따라 rolling shear stength 1.5배, shear modulus 8.3배, bending stiffness 4.1배 향상되어 층재 배열 각도를 감소시킴으로써 CLT 강도 향상을 확인하였다. 구조용 목질재료는 기존에 강도성능이 확보된 재료로 층재로 사용하였을 때 최대 MOR 1.35배, MOE 1.5배, rolling shear strength 2배 향상되었고, 층재 간의 접착강도 또한 집성재 블록전단강도 기준인 7.0 N/mm2을 확보할 수 있었다. 선행연구결과를 통해 MOE 7.0 GPa, MOR 40.0 MPa 이상의 휨 특성을 가진 구조용 목질재료를 사용하였을 때 강도성능이 향상됨을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 구조용 목질재료 층재 강도 기준으로 판단하였다. rolling shear strength 개선하기 위한 최적의 방법은 기존 규격에 의한 강도값을 가진 구조용 목질재료의 적용이 가장 유리할 것으로 판단하나, 구조용 목질재료의 섬유 배열에 따른 CLT 층재 배열 방향, 층재 간 접착 강도 등에 대한 추가적인 연구가 필요하다.
