직장 내 가족친화제도가 취업모의 직업만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Work-family Balance Policies on Working Mothers' Job Satisfaction)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide background information to help develop family-friendly policies which aid in the ability for employees to balance family and work, and to increase the effectiveness and feasibility of these policies at work sites. We surveyed the performance and usage of work-family balance policies among working mothers with young children. We also examined the factors influencing the job satisfaction of working mothers. The study sample consisted of 237 working mothers with young children. We found that family economic status, working mother's experience of family leave or maternity leave, and easiness of policy use are important factors in a working mother's job satisfaction. Especially when individual and job characteristics are controlled, the most influential factor on working mothers' job satisfaction was the experience of family leave or maternity leave. In addition, the easiness of family-friendly policy use was a significant factor in working mothers' job-satisfaction.

  • 이 연구는 공학과 젠더에 관한 이론적, 경험적 연구이자 여학생 공학교육 선도대학 (WIE) 사업의 발전 방향을 다루는 정책 연구의 성격을 갖는다. 우리나라의 WIE 사업은 성인지 공학교육 시스템, 여학생의 현장 적응력 향상, 산학협력 프로그램의 도입을 통해 우수한 여성 엔지니어의 양성을 촉진하려는 목적을 갖는다. 이 연구는 WIE 사업이 공학교육에서 갖는 의미를 분석하기 위해 젠더 연구들을 검토하였다. 공학 분야 여성을 발전시키는데 있어서 교육적, 제도적 공평성을 확보하는 것만으로는 충분하지 않다. 무엇보다 여성의 경력 개발을 좌절시키는 상황에 주목해야 한다. 대학교육에서는 공과대학 교수진이 젠더 공평성에 대한 인식을 향상시킬 필요가 있다. 여성 엔지니어의 전문가 정체성 확립, 남녀가 함께 참여하는 프로그램 개발, 그리고 여성 네트워크 발전 등이 WIE 사업을 성공적으로 수행하는데 있어서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 향후 WIE 사업에 대한 지속적 지원과 대학 단위의 프로그램 확대 등이 정책적 과제로 논의되었다.

An optimal continuous type investment policy for the surplus in a risk model

  • In this paper, we show that there exists an optimal investment policy for the surplus in a risk model, in which the surplus is continuously invested to other business at a constant rate a > 0, whenever the level of the surplus exceeds a given threshold V > 0. We assign, to the risk model, two costs, the penalty per unit time while the level of the surplus being under V > 0 and the opportunity cost per unit time by keeping a unit amount of the surplus. After calculating the long-run average cost per unit time, we show that there exists an optimal investment rate $a^*$>0 which minimizes the long-run average cost per unit time, when the claim amount follows an exponential distribution.

  • The measurement of women's unpaid work is one of the important issues for the improvement of women's status and establishment of a women policy. The purpose of this study is to measure of household production of housewife and to estimate the ratio to GDP. And to emphasize the political meaning of housework The results are as follow; 1) The monetary value of housework of one housewife in 1995 was 783,050won by opportunity cost method . 2) The ratio of household production to GDP 1995 was approximately 16.5%.

성별에 따른 건강불평등 및 관련요인 연구 (Gender Based Health Inequality and Impacting Factors)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to identify gender-based health inequality and explore impacting factors on health inequality in one province in Korea. Methods: This was an explanatory study using the secondary data on Chungnam province from the Fifth Community Health Survey from August 16 to Oct 31, 2012. Variables included in this analysis were education level, poverty, marital status, and residential community for socio-cultural characteristics and subjective health status as an indicator of health inequality. Data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple linear regression. Results: There were gender inequalities and disparities in health, and these inequalities were greater in woman than in man (${\chi}^2$=161.8, p<.001). The impacting factors were education level, poverty, marital status, and residential community, which was accounted for 22.6% of variances of health inequality. Among these variables, gender showed the largest influence in health inequalities. Conclusion: To solve health inequalities, it should be considered gender differences based on social determinants of health. It is necessary to develop long term project based on these results and the social determinants model of World Health Organization.

사회약학관련 국내 석박사 학위논문 분석 (Analysis of Master's and Doctoral Theses on Social Pharmacy Field in Korea)

  • This study aimed to analyze the master's and doctoral theses in social pharmacy field over the past 10 years in Korea. Theses were searched based on the Korean National Assembly Digital Library System, and descriptive analyses were conducted using SAS. Among 669 theses, pharmacy/pharmacist accounted for 24.8%, followed by drug misuse with 16.9%, and pharmaceuticals industry related theses with 16.6%. Graduate school of pharmacy was responsible for a share of 27.2%, suggesting that approximately a quarter of the entire social pharmacy related theses are studies at the school of pharmacy.

  • Since the economic crisis in 1997, the Korean government has implemented a number of reforms in order to eliminate inefficiencies in both private and public sectors. One of the reforms made in the public sector was to lower the retirement age of teachers from the original age of 65 to that age 62. The ultimate aim of this compulsory policy was to improve the quality level of education by hiring many young teachers instead of senior teachers. It was made based on the calculation that by lowering the retirement age by three years, the government can hire three young teachers with the saved wages. However, this policy has brought an unexpected result; the imbalance between the supply and demand for teachers has become a much more serious problem in Korea's elementary education system The purpose of this study is largely twofold; First of all, it aims to identify the scope of imbalances occurred in the supply-demand system of elementary school teachers in a region of the nation, and also to find out why such imbalance occurred. Secondly, the purpose of this study is to experiment with feasible policy alternatives and their effects on the system and to suggest some resolutions on the imbalance.

중년 여성의 폐경 증상경험과 자가관리 역량, 사회적 지지와의 관계 (The Relationship among Menopausal Symptoms, Competency of Self-Care Agency and Social Support in Middle-aged Woman)

  • Purpose: This descriptive correlational study was intended to analyze the relationship among menopausal symptoms. competency of self-care agency and social support in middle-aged women. Methods: Participants in the study were 140 women who were 45-60 years of old. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics., t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\grave{e}}^{\prime}s$ test and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: The frequency and discomfort of menopausal symptom were low, but the mean discomfort score were higher than frequency score. Middle-aged women with lower competency of self care experienced more frequent menopausal symptoms (t=-0.28, p=.001) and more discomfort (t=-0.24, p=.004). However, There was no significant difference in menopausal symptoms according to social support. Conclusion: Nursing interventions to enhance competency of self-care agency in middle-aged women are required in order to reduce the discomfort of menopausal symptoms.

음식점 원산지 표시제 시행에 따른 소비자의 인식 및 요구도 조사 - 서울시 거주하는 성인 대상 - (Consumer Awareness and Demand for Country-of-Origin Labeling at Restaurants - For Adults Who Live in Seoul -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate consumer awareness and demand related to country-of-origin labeling at restaurants, and to provide basic data to reexamine the need for current policies and to determine problems. The study found that 70% of the respondents thought that the implemented representation policy had improved food quality, and 81.3% of the respondents checked country-of-origin labeling at restaurants. In addition, 74.7% of the respondents answered that "reward for accusation" was appropriate policy. Regarding the degree of recognition of the meat importers, the respondents were well aware of the importing countries, but did not recognize the importing country of chicken. In terms of preference for meat importers, Australian beef was rated highest, but beef from the U.S. was ranked seventh. However, in preferences for pork and chicken, U.S. products were rated highest. According to the survey, in a question regarding the perception toward country-of-origin labeling, the respondents recognized that rice, beef, pork, and chicken were the targeted items. In addition, the respondents suggested that other food ingredients at restaurants should be designated as target items for country-of-origin labeling.

사무직 기혼여성의 출산후 취업지속 결정요인 (Married Women's Decision on the Job Continuity after Childbirth)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore systemetically what makes working women continue or interrupt their job after childbirth, An empirical survey was conducted by using questionnaire and data from 194 women who had clerical job before first childbirth. The major findings are as follows : (1) The significant differences between the two groups are caused by family orientation, motherhood, average monthly wage of her own, emotional support, child carer in the family, maternal policy. (2) The probability of continuing job is higher when the public supports are offered to working married women than in case of being supported privately.
