  • This study aims to examine the type of residents' participation in village making including the case of "Making Happiness Village" -in the Jeollanam-do province and "Village Making" -in Haenam-gun. The study examines the potential and effects of these projects, draws conclusions and suggests the future direction of village making projects. The results of this study are summarized below. "Making Happiness Village" should be evaluated in detail as it has contributed to the successful and development of traditional Korean residential culture, and has helped to activate and develop agricultural and fishing villages through the improvement of the residential environment and attraction of urban people into the rural area. It also showed the possibility of a project to be settled as a representative of Namdo satisfying the demand for sustainable development. In order to enhance the integrity of a village making project, its master plan must be established and utilized by considering the current status and characteristics of a village, improving its physical environment and seeking a method for economic activation. Policy and economic support from central government and local governments are also required for such a project. The residents' autonomous organization, necessary for unifying the residents' capacity, must organize their own group, such as "Residents' Conference for Village Making (tentative name)" to integrate the existing organizations (women's association, youth group, etc) and establish a conference system to discuss and solve the current issues of the village.

  • With the emergence of indirect procurement, it has become a global trend for companies to outsource their maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) supplies to procurement service providers (PSPs). Due to the variety of MRO items, evaluation of numerous suppliers in various industries is a particularly complex task for PSPs. Due to this complexity, many PSPs still evaluate and select suppliers based on the sourcing managers' subjective knowledge. Through the case of adopting a supplier evaluation system, this research is to find the managerial issues organizations should consider when they transform sourcing managers' knowledge into the system. We interpret the issues based on the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework. This case conclusively shows the importance of positive feedback loop between the users and the information system for the performance improvement of the system.

The actual conditions of the fermentation processing sites at farmhouses participating in the production of soybean fermentation products were investigated. The subjects of this survey were 130 small size farmhouse Kanjang and Doenjang processing sites nationwide. The frequency, percentage, t-value, chi-square, and ANOVA were used for statistical analysis. The farmhouse business surveyed were generally operated by rural women for non-farming business income. The percentage of co-worked sites was 71.2 while the percentage of sites operating with permits was 39.2. Generally, the the facilities, size, number of working people, and output were very small. The areas in which the products were sold, site-located regions and region metropolises, were equally weighted. Sales volumes in region metropolises for sites with permits were a little higher than sites without permits. Without regard to operation type, the percentage of sales was highest in cases of direct sale by customer order. Individually operated sites usually use social organizations and acquaintances. It was found that the average sales of each site totaled 25 million Won. The average income of each site was 12 million Won, and average income per participant was 3 million Won. Total sales income for sites with permits was significantly higher than sites without permits. • The first thing we can consider to prevent juvenile delinquency is to punish those criminals. However, this is not always the proper solution. In consideration to the feature of juvenile period when they lack in proper judgment it is better to provide education than punishment so that they are not branded as criminals in our society. Also, by returning to the society, they can obtain social techniques and obtain the opportunity of making contribution to the society, which is also good for their career development. Combining international examples on juvenile delinquency prevention, there is a need to comprehensively evaluate level of probation and risk exposure of juvenile based on placement matrix of comprehensive strategy program in the US. Also, control solution by juvenile crime development phase should be made. In terms of control treatment based on crime phase, crime history should be considered when applying control. For the subject of preventing juvenile crime, it shouldn't be legal organizations like before but shall be home, school, local society, and legal organization together.
