  • When the national disaster accident is occurred, it is difficult to maintain the mutual cooperation systems. In order to solve the problems, the construction of the national unified command wireless network is necessary. In this paper, the specified state of the characteristic frequency of the digital TRS wireless network constructed recently is investigated and analyzed. Through the analysis, the problems of the construction of the national unified command wireless network are grasped. To solve the problem, it is proposed that the digital TRS wireless network is connected with the satellite communication network, and connected with the existing wireless network, LMR. In the concretely it is proposed that the natural unified wireless network should be proceeded step by step. At first, for 2 years the existing networks of the Fire Fighting Agency, the Police, the Forest Service and so on must be utilized and prepared to link with TRS. The second, for 2 years it is carried forward a scheme to maintain the properties of the agencies concerned. Further, it must be prepared to connect with satellite network. At third, for 2 years all agencies concerned with the fire fighting and the disaster prevention must be unified, and the systems have to be promoted for the p1an of linkage of TRS network and the existing network. Next the agencies concerned have to be unified and the authority has to be intensified. When a disaster is occurred, the National Emergency Management Agency has to play a central role. In a local area it has to be given the Fire Fighting Agency an authority and a duty to get ready for each emergency situation.

  • Guaranteeing quality of service over a multihop wireless network is difficult because end-to-end (ETE) delay is accumulated at each hop in a multihop flow. Recently, research has been conducted on network coding (NC) schemes as an alternative mechanism to significantly increase the utilization of valuable resources in multihop wireless networks. This paper proposes a new section-based joint NC and scheduling scheme that can reduce ETE delay and enhance resource efficiency in a multihop wireless network. Next, this paper derives the average ETE delay of the proposed scheme and simulates a TDMA network where the proposed scheme is deployed. Finally, this paper compares the performance of the proposed scheme with that of the conventional sequential scheduling scheme. From the performance analysis and simulation results, the proposed scheme gives more delay-and energy-efficient slot assignments even if the NC operation is applied, resulting in a use of fewer network resources and a reduction in ETE delay.

  • IEEE 802.11 Point Coordination Function (PCF) mode is defined to support time bounded traffic, such as voice in wireless LANs. The poll scheduling plays an important role in IEEE 802.11 PCF mode operation. This paper proposed a Multicast Polling Scheme (MPC) to increase the performance of wireless LANs. Moreover, we proposed a polling schedule scheme for our proposed multi-poll to serve real-time traffic. The results show that the proposed mechanism is more efficient than the original IEEE 802.11 PCF.

  • Wireless carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) systems are widely used but show extremely different transmission efficiency according to the operation environment. Simulation or prototype deployment is needed to see the transmission efficiency of a wireless CSMA system with the partial packet retransmission scheme. The lower bound for the transmission efficiency of such a system is found mathematically in this work. This shows how much the partial packet retransmission scheme improves the transmission efficiency quantitatively. It also shows that the maximum throughput is obtained at higher offered load compared to the conventional CSMA system without the partial packet transmission. The result of this work can be applied to IEEE 802.11 networks or wireless mesh networks.

  • Received signal strength indicator (RSSI) is used as one of the ranging techniques to locate dynamic sensor nodes in wireless sensor network. Before it can be used for position estimation, RSSI values must be converted to distances using path loss model. These distances among sensor nodes are combined using trilateration method to find position. This paper presents an idea which attempts to integrate both path loss model and trilateration as one algorithm without going through RSSI-distance conversion. This means it is not simply formulas combination but a whole new model was developed. Several advantages were found after integration: it is able to reduce processing load, and ensure that all values do not exceed the maximum range of 16-bit signed or unsigned numbers due to antilog operation in path loss model. The results also show that this method is able to reduce estimation error while inaccurate environmental parameters are used for RSSI-distance conversion.

  • It is evident that advancement of ubiquitous technologies in the near future guarantees more convenient and plentiful living. With regarding to car life, we dream of an automatic driving without any effort of operation. This paper touches the realization issue, a convergence of wireless sensor network and Telematics specializing on an information routing mechanism between participating components in Telematics sensor communication network. We list up new requirements of wireless sensor network deployed for Telematics services. Then context-aware routing architecture is proposed in order to solve these constraints, in which a network topology for routing can be dynamically configured according to the combination of context models of network components.

  • Wireless power transfer (WPT) system is very attractive because it removes power cables from home appliances, office equipments and battery chargers for electric vehicles. In this paper, non-radiative WPT systems studied recently are claimed to be technologically or theoretically identical in operation irrespective of the number of coils. Especially, 2-coil and 3-coil systems are compared in detail. It is also shown that multiplicity of coils does not increase power transfer capability.

  • This paper designs and implements the 2 plug type standby power control outlet based on IEEE 802.15.4 using Zigbee and IPv6 network in order to reduce the standby power to the user. The standby power control system is consisted of direct power and standby power plug. Also this system can communicate bidirectionally in wireless because built-in wireless communication modules. One gateway is linked with many standby power control outlet in wireless. Each standby power control outlet executes the operation needed in power control independently. Also each standby power control outlet has its own power can be detected in real time independently of the power can be controlled.

  • This paper presents the operation technology and the remote monitoring system of distribution pole transformer. Especially, this system uses CDMA wireless data communication network as media which is serviced on a national scale. It has four major components such as sensor for measuring the secondary voltage and currents of distribution transformer, CDMA wireless modem for data modulating/demodulating, communication media for sending/receiving of data, and PC server for monitoring the results of sensing or computing information. This paper also describes the configuration of each component's functions with its development process.
