  • In High-speed Portable Internet system to improve performance of whole system, adaptive modulation and coding technology is used, this technology changes modulation and encoding techniques depending on wireless channel environment. Modulation technology that is used in High-speed Portable Internet system is BPSK, QPSK, 16QAMs and 64QAMs. If terminal is distant from base station transceiver system, BPSK or QPSK technology Is used and 16QAMs or 64QAM technology is used if is near in the base station transceiver system. In this paper, number of sub-channel in each modulation technology minimized total transmitting number of PDU is analyzed for efficient radio resources usage. For this, simulation is conducted and the results are presented at High-speed Portable Internet system environments.

  • This paper analyzes Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of a wireless communication system using BPSK modulation technique with a smart antenna at base station. The channels under consideration are Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel or a slow, flat Rayleigh lading channel with AWGN. Under the assumptions that the MMSE beamformer is used and the time delays of all users are approximately equal, we first analytically derive closed-form expressions for the BER of the desired user. Then, computer simulation is carried out to verify the theoretical results.

  • Future microcellular systems will require distributed network control. A packet-switched network is suitable for this requirement. The packet reservation multiple access(PRMA) is a Reservation-ALOHA like protocol for wireless terminals to transmit packet speech to a base station. It allows spatially distributed users in cellular systems to transmit packeted voice and data to a common base station using a shared channel. In the existing PRMA, the problem is that the voice packets may collide with the data packets due to simultaneous channel access. the problem may be a major performance degradation factor to a voice and data mixed system. We propose a new PRMA method that integrates voice and data traffic efficiently by resolving the collision problem between data and voice packets. The proposed PRMA method gives a performance improvement than the existing PRAMA method in terms of voice packet dropping probability and data delay characteristic. From analytic results, we can confirm that the proposed PRMA method show a performance improvement than the existing PRMA protocol.

  • Caching popular videos in the storage of base stations is an efficient method to reduce the transmission latency. This paper proposes an incentive proactive cache mechanism in the wireless network to motivate the content providers (CPs) to participate in the caching procedure. The system consists of one/many Infrastructure Provider (InP) and many CPs. The InP aims to define the price it charges the CPs to maximize its revenue while the CPs compete to determine the number of files they cache at the InP's base stations (BSs). We conceive this system within the framework of Stackelberg game where InP is considered as the leader and CPs are the followers. By using backward induction, we show closed form of the amount of cache space that each CP renting on each base station and then solve the optimization problem to calculate the price that InP leases each CP. This is different from the existing works in that we consider the non-uniform pricing scheme. The numerical results show that InP's profit in the proposed scheme is higher than in the uniform pricing.

  • U-Healthcare is a convergence service with medical care and IT which enables to examine, manage and maintain the patient's health any time and any place. For communication conducted in U-Healthcare service, the transmission methods are used that patient's medical checkup analysis results or emergency data are transmitted to hospital server using wireless communication method. At this moment when the attacker who executes the malicious access makes DRDoS(Distributed Reflection DoS) attack to U-Healthcare devices or BS(Base Station), various damages occur that contextual information of urgent patients are not transmitted to hospital server. In order to deal with this problem, this study suggests DRDoS attack scenario and countermeasures against DRDoS and converges with Big Data which could process large amount of packets. When the attacker attacks U-Healthcare devices or BS(Base Station), DB is interconnected and the attack is prevented if it is coincident. This study analyzes the attack method that could occur in U-Healthcare devices or BS which are remote medical service and suggests countermeasures against the security threat using Big Data.

  • The next generation cellular radio systems require high data rate transmission and large system capacity In order to meet these requirements, multiple antennas can be used at the base and mobile stations, forming MIMO(multiple-input, multiple-output) channels This paper considers a downlink MIMO system assuming a large number of base station antennas, a small number of mobile station antennas, and rich-scattering, quasi-stationary, and flat-fading channel environments When the channel state information is given at the base station in a single user system, a MIMO technique with SVD(singular value decomposition) and water-filling can achieve the maximal downlink channel capacity. In multi-user environments, however, SDMA(space division multiple acces) technique can be used to further increase the total channel capacity supported by the base station This paper proposes a MIMO SDMA technique which can transmit parallel data streams to each of multiple users. The proposed method. can achieve higher total channel capacity than SVD-based MIMO techniques or conventional SDMA using smart antennas.

  • In this paper, we propose for improving QoS in hospital wireless network using Cellular-IP/PRC(Paging Route Cache) with Paging Cache and Route Cache in Cellular-IP. Although the Cellular-IP/PRC technology is devised for mobile internet communication, it has its vulnerability in frequent handoff environment. This handoff state machine using differentiated handoff improves quality of services in Cellular-IP/PRC. Suggested algorithm shows better performance than existing technology in wireless mobile internet communication environment. When speech quality is secured considering increment of interference to receive in case of suppose that proposed acceptance method grooves base radio station capacity of transfer node is plenty, and most of contiguity cell transfer node was accepted at groove base radio station with a blow, groove base radio station new trench lake acceptance method based on transmission of a message electric power estimate of transfer node be. • As the TCP is the protocol designed for the wired network that packet loss probability is very low, because TCP transmitter takes it for granted that the packet loss by the wireless network characteristics is occurred by the network congestion and lowers the transmitter's transmission rate, the performance is degraded. The Snoop Protocol was designed for the wired network by putting the Snoop agent module on the BS(Base Station) that connect the wire network to the wireless network to complement the TCP problem. The Snoop agent cash the packets being transferred to the wireless terminal and recover the loss by resending locally for the error occurred in the wireless link. The Snoop agent blocks the unnecessary congestion control by preventing the dupack (duplicate acknowledgement)for the retransmitted packet from sending to the sender and hiding the loss in the wireless link from the sender. We evaluated the performance in the wired/wireless network and in various TCP versions using the TCP designed for the wired network and the Snoop designed for the wireless network and evaluated the performance of the wired/wireless hybrid network in the wireless link environment that the continuous packet loss occur.

  • In wireless sensor networks where there is no centralized base station, each node has limited transmission range and the multi-hop routing for transmitting data to the destination is the one of the important technical issues. In particular, the wireless sensor network is not powered by external power source but operates by its own battery, so it is required to maximize the network life through efficient use of energy. To balance the power consumption, the residual power based adaptive power control is required in routing protocol. In this paper, we propose a routing protocol that prolongs the network lifetime by balancing the power consumption among the nodes by controlling the transmit power according to the residual power. We evaluate the proposed routing protocol using extensive simulation, and the results show that the proposed routing scheme can balance the power consumption and prolong network lifetime.

  • Nuclear power plants have a lower cost of power generation, and they are more eco-friendly than other power generation plants. Also, we need to prepare nuclear plant accidents because of their severe damage. In the event of a safety accident, such as a radiation leak, by applying a wireless sensor network to a nuclear power plant, many sensor nodes can be used to monitor radiation and transmit information to an external base station to appropriately respond to the accident. However, applying a wireless sensor network to nuclear power plants requires routing protocols that consider the sensor network size and bypass obstacles such as plant buildings. In general, the hierarchical-based routing protocols are efficient in energy consumption. In this study, we look into the problems that may occur if hierarchical-based routing protocols are applied to nuclear power plants and propose improved routing protocols to solve these problems. Simulation results show that the proposed routing protocol is more effective in energy consumption than the existing LEACH protocol.
