  • Wireless LAM has the advantage of extension, flexibility and easiness of installation and maintenance. However, due to the characteristics of wireless media, it is vulnerable to security attacks. PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) is estimated to be a good solution offering security function to wireless LAM including global roaming. It offers high security functions as authentication confidentiality and digital signature while it generates big overheads such as CRL search and certificate verification. The overheads can not be avoided during the initial authentication. However, when we consider the case of handoff, it can be minimized through the fast handoff. In this paper, we design a fast handoff authentication mechanism based on PKI in the wireless LAM and analyze the performance of the scheme.

  • Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) cache poisoning is a MAC layer attack that can only be carried out when an attacker is connected to the same local network as the target machines. ARP is not a new problem, but wireless network introduces a new attack point and more vulnerable to the attack. The attack on wireless network cannot be detected by current detection tool installed on wired network. In order to detect the ARP poisoning attack, there must be a ARP poisoning detection tool for wireless LAN environment.   • Wire wireless integrated service of BcN(Broadband convergence Network) is expanding. Information Security issue is highlighted for opposing attack of getting information illegally on wire wireless network. The user of PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) cipher system among Information security technology receives various security services about authentication, confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation and access control etc. A mobile client and server are loaded certificate and wireless internet cryptography module for trusted data send receive. And data sends receives to each other after certification process through validity check of certificate. Certificate and data security system is researched through PKI on wireless network environment and data security system in this paper.

  • Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are an emerging technology and offers economically viable monitoring solution to many challenging applications. However, deploying new technology in hostile environment, without considering security in mind has often proved to be unreasonably unsecured. Apparently, security techniques face many critical challenges in WSNs like data security and secrecy due to its hostile deployment nature. In order to resolve security in WSNs, we propose a novel and efficient secure framework called TriSec: a secure data framework for wireless sensor networks to attain high level of security. TriSec provides data confidentiality, authentication and data integrity to sensor networks. TriSec supports node-to-node encryption using PingPong-128 stream cipher based-privacy. A new PingPong-MAC (PP-MAC) is incorporated with PingPong stream cipher to make TriSec framework more secure. PingPong-128 is fast keystream generation and it is very suitable for sensor network environment. We have implemented the proposed scheme on wireless sensor platform and our result shows their feasibility.

  • Wireless network is one of the 2010's most important security issues. As smartphone is popularize, the number of Wireless Internet users is really growing and wireless AP spring up everywhere. But most wireless AP haven't being managed properly in terms of security, Wireless Internet users also don't recognize important of security. This situation causes grave security threats. This paper design and analyze a new cyber attack whose it circulates malware via QR code and activates Mobile AP to induce service charge. The new vulnerability we suggest forces to activate Mobile AP of smartphone based on Android and responds to all Probe Request are generated around, and brings induction of service charge and communication problems in its train.

mNPKI for Mobile Government in Developing Countries (개발도상국의 모바일 정부를 위한 mNPKI)

  • Government transactions over wireless electronic devices are not safe and hence the messages are prone to attack. Thereby, devices supporting wireless Internet must assure the same level of security and privacy as the wired network. National public key infrastructure (NPKI) for electronic government used in the wired environment is not suitable for wireless environment for mobile government (mGovernment) because of the limitations of computing power, memory capacity and restricted battery power. This requires the development of a new NPKI for mGovernment, denoted as mNPKI, to developing countries, which provides the same security level as the wired NPKI. For the wireless environment requirements, mNPKI is based on short lived certificates. Analysis shows that mNPKI is well suited to wireless Internet and provides the same security requirement from the wired NPKI.

  • Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are emerging as promising, convenient next generation wireless network technology. There is a great need for a secure framework for routing in WMNs and several research studies have proposed secure versions of the default routing protocol of WMNs. In this paper, we propose a security framework for Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (HWMP) in WMNs. Contrary to existing schemes, our proposed framework ensures both end-to-end and point-to-point authentication and integrity to both mutable and non-mutable fields of routing frames by adding message extension fields to the HWMP path selection frame elements. Security analysis and simulation results show that the proposed approach performs significantly well in spite of the cryptographic computations involved in routing.

  • With the development of sensor, wireless mobile communication, embedded system and cloud computing, the technologies of Internet of Things have been widely used in logistics, Smart devices security, intelligent building and o on. Bridging between wireless sensor networks with traditional communication networks or Internet, IoT gateway plays n important role in IoT applications, which facilitates the integration of wireless sensor networks and mobile communication networks or Internet, and the management and control with wireless sensor networks. The IoT Gateway is a key component in IoT application systems but It has lot of security issues. We analyzed the trends of security and privacy matters.

  • Various researchers conducted the research on two-factor authentication suitable for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) after Das first proposed two-factor authentication combining the smart card and password. After then, To improve the security of user authentication, elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)-based authentication protocols have been proposed. Jiang et al. proposed a privacy-aware two-factor authentication protocol based on ECC for WSM for resolving various problems of ECC-based authentication protocols. However, Jiang et al.'s protocol has the vulnerabilities on a lack of mutual authentication, a risk of SID modification and a lack of sensor anonymity, and user's ID exposed on sensor node Therefore, this paper proposed security enhanced privacy-aware two-factor authentication protocol for wireless sensor networks to solve the problem of Jiang et al.'s protocol, and security analysis was conducted for the proposed protocol.

  • The importance of security in WLAN(Wireless LAN) service is very critical, so IEEE organization has made the IEEE 802.1x standard. The IEEE 802.1x standard uses the EAP as authentication protocol which requires AAA(Authentication, authorization, and Accounting) server for authentication & accounting. for the reliable and scalable AAA service, the Diameter protocol has more advanced characteristics than existing radius protocol. So the Diameter protocol can be used for WLAN service provider who has large scale WLAN system and a large number of subscriber. This paper proposes the design of Diameter AAA server for the authentication and accounting of WLAN system which is adopting IEEE 802.1x standard.
