특수 고장력전선을 사용한 장경간 가공송전선로 설계 (Design of Long Span Overhead Transmission Line using Special High-tension Wire)

  • Recently, power demand has been increasing every year according to variation of electrical equipments and temperature rise in summer season. So, much more overhead line is being demanded to copy with increasing power demand and operate reliable power system. This paper analysis the characteristics of long span overhead transmission line using special high-tension wire in such as a safety factor, coefficient of elasticity, and the coefficient of linear expansion. Based on the analysis, we proposed the effectiveness of special high-tension wire having much more advantages with respect to height of steel tower and dip compared with conventional ACSR in long span overhead transmission line.

  • Even though underground transmission cable is an essential transmission method to supply stable power for downtown and population center, interaction of electromagnetic force from fault current is very large comparing to overhead transmission line due to restricted installation space such as tunnel, etc. and close consideration is required for it. This paper presents countermeasures to reduce and release the effect of electromagnetic force with rope binding and installation of spacer and describes its efficacy through three phase short-circuit test, which will be utilized as basic materials for improvement and development of cleat, hanger, etc. to reduce and release effect of electromagnetic force in the future.

  • Oil-filled power cables and XLPE power cables have been globally applied for extra-high-voltage underground power transmission lines. The application of XLPE cables for the transmission lines have been largely increased at the domestic and overseas projects because of some issues. O.F cables have some week points, related with the issues of the environmental pollution and the needed maintenance work, even though they have been applied for several ten years and their reliability has been proven. Meanwhile, the demands on XLPE power cables increase as their manufacturing technologies have been improved and their simplicity of installations has been focused on. In Korea, for the first time, the 275kV XLPE cable is to be applied at an overseas power plant project. This paper introduces the project profile, the design of the XLPE cable and its accessories, the cable system design and the installation design.

  • Since Korea has a small land area, it is expected to construct the conductor return type with neutral wire in the case of ${\pm}500kV$ HVDC double bipole transmission line. Therefore, in order to apply ${\pm}500kV$ HVDC double bipole transmission line with neutral wire in Korea, it is necessary to develop technology for insulation and environmental designs. In this study, radio interference, audible noise, electric field and ion current density according to the polarity arrangement were compared and assessed in the ${\pm}500kV$ HVDC double bipole transmission line with the conductor return method. And the optimum configuration of HVDC double bipole transmission line was determined from the viewpoint of electrical environment.

  • To meet recent increasing demand for electric power in large cities in Korea, and to improve reliability of the power supply. Especially, demand for electric power apparatus places great emphasis on not only function but also environmental factors. In this paper, environpolitics describes according to large capacity demand for extra high voltage underground transmission lines and high reliability of the power supply.

  • Since Korea was initiated a industrialization, many transmission lines have been installed to meet the increasing demand for the electric power. In large city, underground transmission lines were widely installed because of the environmental issue. But there have been appeared many failures on the lines, such as the external scar of cable, a fire in the culvert, overheating of cable, and so on. There have been many studies to monitor them and improve the reliability of the power supply. As a method monitoring the lines, a DTS(Distributed Temperature Sensor) system is developed and applied. This system monitors the lines and predicts the failures, using a optical fiber sensor. This paper describes this DTS system and its application for the underground transmission lines.

  • The overhead transmission wires operating both at warm temperature and tighten state for a long period of time in a power transmission plant are degraded by air pollution, wind, creep and slip between steel wire and aluminium conductor. The objective of this study is to investigate to investigate the characteristics of fatigue properties with tension and bending loading of a high carbon steel wire. The fatigue behaviors have been carried out by tension-tension, 4 points bending and 3 points bending loading. In the present study, a conventional fatigue strengths between 4 points bending and tension-tension fatigue were determined by Gerber, Sorderberg and Goodmans theory and we investigated S-N diagram for bending and tensile loading.

  • Silicone insulators have many advantages over porcelain insulators. Especially silicone insulators have good characteristics of impact hardness, surface insulation, ease of processing, mass productivity and don't have risk of bombardment and vandalism. Recently insulation part made by silicone are becoming widely used. In this paper we introduce the development of Sealing End for 132kV XLPE cable with silicone composite hollow insulator and the adoption of it to a actual transmission line in abroad. This paper contains of design procedure, structure, electrical performance of it.

  • OPGW(Optical Ground Wire) whose demand is increasing worldwide have composite function as optical communication and grounding for preventing transmission line from lightning. While continuous efforts have been made to increase the transmission capacity and speed, the working method to replace the existing ground wire with OPGW under live-line condition is coming to force newly as installation aspects. Particularly, this requirement became more serious in developing country that the electric power supply is not sufficient and power outage is impossible for supply and dead of electric power LS cable Ltd. has developed the new installation method in full live-line condition to solve the confronted problem and to meet the market demand. In this paper, Electric Problems in live-line installation is considered to predict dry-band arcing. This can be used by Makers to predict dry-band arcing in insulating ropes installed on earth wire of power transmission system.
