The free vibration characteristics of cylindrical shells on inclined partial elastic foundations are investigated by an analytical method. The cylindrical shell is partially surrounded by the elastic foundations, these are represented by the Winkler or Pasternak model. The area of elastic foundation is not uniform and varies along the axial direction of the shell. The motion of shell is represented by first-order shear deformation theory(FSDT) to account for rotary inertia and transverse shear strains. The governing equation is obtained using the Rayleigh-Ritz method and a variation approach. To validate the present method, the numerical example is presented and compared with the present FEA results. The numerical results reveal that the elastic foundation has significant effect on vibration characteristics.
The functionally graded materials (FGM) used in plates contain probably a porosity volume fraction which needs taking into account this aspect of imperfection in the mechanical bahavior of such structures. The present work aims to study the effect of the distribution forms of porosity on the bending of simply supported FG plate reposed on the Winkler-Pasternak foundation. A refined theory of shear deformation is developed to study the effect of the distribution shape of porosity on static behavior of FG plates. It was found that the distribution form of porosity significantly influence the mechanical behavior of FG plates, in terms of deflection, normal and shear stress. It can be concluded that the proposed theory is simple and precise for the resolution of the behavior of flexural FGM plates resting on elastic foundations while taking into account the shape of distribution of the porosity.

Mass matrix, elastic stiffness matrix, load correction stiffness matrix by circulatory non-conservative force, and Winkler and Pasternak foundation matrix of framed structure in 2-D are calculated for stability analysis of divergence or flutter system. Then, a matrix equation of the motion for the non-conservative system is formulated and numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effect of some parameters with using Newmark method.
Non-linear vibration characteristics of functionally graded CNT-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) cylindrical shell panel on elastic foundation have not been sufficiently examined. In this situation, this study aims at the profound numerical investigation of the non-linear vibration response of FG-CNTRC cylindrical panels on Winkler-Pasternak foundation by introducing an accurate and effective 2-D meshfree-based non-linear numerical method. The large-amplitude free vibration problem is formulated according to the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) with the von Karman non-linearity, and it is approximated by Laplace interpolation functions in 2-D natural element method (NEM) and a non-linear partial derivative operator HNL. The complex and painstaking numerical derivation on the curved surface and the crucial shear locking are overcome by adopting the geometry transformation and the MITC3+ shell elements. The derived nonlinear modal equations are iteratively solved by introducing a three-step iterative solving technique which is combined with Lanczos transformation and Jacobi iteration. The developed non-linear numerical method is estimated through the benchmark test, and the effects of foundation stiffness, CNT volume fraction and functionally graded pattern, panel dimensions and boundary condition on the non-linear vibration of FG-CNTRC cylindrical panels on elastic foundation are parametrically investigated.
Elastic bending of imperfect functionally graded sandwich plates (FGSPs) laying on the Winkler-Pasternak foundation and subjected to sinusoidal loads is analyzed. The analyses have been established using the quasi-3D sinusoidal shear deformation model. In this theory, the number of unknowns is condensed to only five unknowns using integral-undefined terms without requiring any correction shear factor. Moreover, the current constituent material properties of the middle layer is considered homogeneous and isotropic. But those of the top and bottom face sheets of the graded porous sandwich plate (FGSP) are supposed to vary regularly and continuously in the direction of thickness according to the trigonometric volume fraction's model. The corresponding equilibrium equations of FGSPs with simply supported edges are derived via the static version of the Hamilton's principle. The differential equations of the system are resolved via Navier's method for various schemes of FGSPs. The current study examine the impact of the material index, porosity, side-to-thickness ratio, aspect ratio, and the Winkler-Pasternak foundation on the displacements, axial and shear stresses of the sandwich structure.

This paper is for the buckling and vibration analysis of thick plate with concentrated mass on a inhomogeneous pasternak foundation. A thick rectangular plate resting on a inhomogeneous pasternak foundation is isotropic, homogeneous and composite with linearly elastic material. In order to analyize plate which is supported on inhomogeneous pasternak foundation, the value of winkler foundation parameter(WFP) of centural and border zone of plate are chosen as Kwl and Kw2 respectively. The value of Kwl and Kw2 can be changed as 0, 10, 10 /sup 2/, 10 / sup 3/ and the value of SFP(shear foundation parameter) also be changed 0, 5, 10, 15 respectively. Finally, In this paper, buckling stress of rectangular plate on the inhomogeneous pasternak foundation, natural frequency of this plate with or without uniform in-plane axial stresses are calculated

This investigation studies the characteristics of wave dispersion in sigmoid functionally graded (SFG) curved beams lying on an elastic substrate for the first time. Homogenization process was performed with the help of sigmoid function and two power laws. Moreover, various materials such as Zirconia, Alumina, Monel and Nickel steel were explored as curved beams materials. In addition, curved beams were rested on an elastic substrate which was modelled based on Winkler-Pasternak foundation. The SFG curved beams' governing equations were derived according to Euler-Bernoulli curved beam theory which is known as classic beam theory and Hamilton's principle. The resulted governing equations were solved via an analytical method. In order to validate the utilized method, the obtained outcomes were compared with other researches. Finally, the influences of various parameters, including wave number, opening angle, gradient index, Winkler coefficient and Pasternak coefficient were evaluated and indicated in the form of diagrams.
A postbuckling analysis is presented for a simply supported, moderately thick rectangular plate subjected to combined axial compression and uniform temperature loading and resting on a two-parameter elastic foundation. The two cases of thermal postbuckling of initially compressed plates and of compressive postbuckling of initially heated plates are considered. The initial geometrical imperfection of the plate is taken into account. The formulations are based on the Reissner-Mindlin plate theory considering the first order shear deformation effect, and including the plate-foundation interaction and thermal effect. The analysis uses a deflection-type perturbation technique to determine the buckling loads and postbuckling equilibrium paths. Numerical examples cover the performances of perfect and imperfect, moderately thick plates resting on Winkler or Pasternak-type elastic foundations. Typical results are presented in dimensionless graphical form.

In this research work, free vibrations of simply supported functionally graded plate resting on a Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundation are investigated by a new shear deformation theory. The influence of alternative micromechanical models on the macroscopic behavior of a functionally graded plate based on shear-deformation plate theories is examined. Several micromechanical models are tested to obtain the effective material properties of a two-phase particle composite as a function of the volume fraction of particles which continuously varies through the thickness of a functionally graded plate. Present theory exactly satisfies stress boundary conditions on the top and the bottom of the plate. The energy functional of the system is obtained using Hamilton's principle. The closed form solutions are obtained by using Navier technique, and then fundamental frequencies are found by solving the results of eigenvalue problems. Finally, the numerical results are provided to reveal the effect of explicit micromechanical models on natural fundamental frequencies.
To investigate the surface effects on vibration of embedded circular curved nanosize beams, nonlocal elasticity model is used in combination with surface properties including surface elasticity, surface tension and surface density for modeling the nano scale effect. The governing equations are determined via the energy method. Analytically Navier method is utilized to solve the governing equations for simply supported at both ends. Solving these equations enables us to estimate the natural frequency for circular curved nanobeam including Winkler and Pasternak elastic foundations. The results determined are verified by comparing the results by available ones in literature. The effects of various parameters such as nonlocal parameter, surface properties, Winkler and Pasternak elastic foundations and opening angle of circular curved nanobeam on the natural frequency are successfully studied. The results reveal that the natural frequency of circular curved nanobeam is significantly influenced by these effects.
