공동주택의 배치유형에 따른 창호 시스템의 채광특성 (Daylighting Performance of Refurbished Window System based on Site Plans in Recently-Planned Apartment Houses)

  • Though they have advantages in terms of aesthetic in modern architecture, however, rectangular-shaped towers causes being short of natural light due to deep interior space. There are compromised attempts to take advantages of each building shape selectively. As a result, we now witness the advent of Y-shaped, T-shaped, V-shaped and ㅈ-shaped buildings on the market. The mutative type of apartment houses usually faces southwest or southeast, which has lot of daylighting availability but anyhow, the proportion of the apartment houses which have a full south aspect. The need to verify the potential of daylighting in new building-block shapes exists. At the same time, the expansion of balcony area was legalized and thus, a visual buffer area does not exist any more. All-glass window wall on apartment houses without a balcony produces pretty harmful area with direct sunbeam. Recently, the refurbished version of conventional windows has been developed for the purposed of minimizing energy loss occurred around windows. This research initialized a series of research to deal with almost all on window wall for apartment houses. First of all, huge amount of already-designed examples of apartment houses have been analyzed in terms of floor plan, elevation, orientation and glazing materials.

  • The conventional way to acquire sufficient amount of daylight in interiors is to provide large openings with clear glass. The use of clear glass on the whole facade, however, might cause a sort of visual problem because of the harness of direct sun and brighter sky surface than expected. They should be filtered in opticalway or bounced in the architectural. One of the common solutions for the problem might be the use of photometric glasses with various transmittances for the glass walls. This paper deals with performance data related to the impact of various transmittal glazing materials for window systems in terms of daylighting. A series of scale model measurements was carried out with the fundamental configuration of a commonly used all-glass facades. Additionally some experimental performance index was issued for the better expression of the need of natural lighting.

2차원 정상상태 전열해석을 통한 교육시설의 알루미늄 창호 열관류율 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Thermal Transmittance Performance of Aluminum Alloy Window Frame of Educational Facility considering 2 Dimensional Steady-state Heat Transfer)

  • 본 연구에서는 대학 캠퍼스의 기존 교육시설에 설치된 알루미늄 합금 창의 2차원 정상상태 전열해석을 통한 열관류율(U-value) 평가를 수행하였다. 교육시설의 주요 창호 재료로 적용된 알루미늄은 열전도율이 175 $kca{\ell}/m^2h^{\circ}C$ 정도로 플라스틱 소재의 창틀과 비교할 때, 매우 불리하여 기존 교육시설에 설치된 알루미늄 창호는 열교를 통한 열손실의 주요인으로 지적되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 점에 착안하여 충남 서산지방에 위치한 대학건물의 알루미늄 알로이 합금 창호의 열관류율 평가에 관한 연구를 수행하여 다음의 해석 결과를 도출하였다. (1) 2차원 정상상태 전열해석을 위한 경계조건은 국토해양부고시 건축물 에너지절약설계기준의 남부지방 냉난방장치의 용량계산을 위한 설계 외기온 기준과 실내온도 기준을 적용하여 여름철 실내 $27^{\circ}C$, 실외 $31.3^{\circ}C$, 겨울철 실내 $21.0^{\circ}C$, 실외 $-9.6^{\circ}C$ 로 설정하고 시물레이션을 통한 해석 결과 열관류율은 알루미늄 합금 창호 U= 9.631 W/$m^2K$, 복층유리 U= 2.382 W/$m^2K$로 여름철과 겨울철 동일한 해석 결과치가 산출되었다. (2) 열관류율 해석결과를 "건축물의 에너지절약설계기준"의 열교차단재가 적용되지 않은 금속제 창의 단열성능 중 일반 복층창 단열성능기준인 U=4.0 W/$m^2K$와 비교할 때, 알루미늄 창틀을 통하여 225%의 열손실이 발생됨을 보여 주고 있다.

  • As entering in the time of high oil price, seriousness of an energy is on the rise and the importance of energy is growing. Especially, building energy occupying 24% of total demand of energy is expected to be possible to reduce energy demand more than other section. To reduce the building energy consumption, this study analyzes function and thermal performance of Super window by heat experimental apparatus. Super window is a 2-track low-e glazing window for high insulation efficiency. By applying the results of this experiment to building energy efficiency rating tool, this study compares energy efficiency rates depending on a region.-Jeju, South, Central. And it shows how much does Super window reduce Building energy consumption.

Structural glass panels: An integrated system

  • In building envelope, transparent components play an important role. The structural glazing systems are the weak element of the casing in terms of mechanical resistance, thermal and acoustic insulation. In the present work, new structural glass panels with granular aerogel in interspace were investigated from different points of view. In particular, the mechanical characterization was carried out in order to assess the resistance to bending of the single glazing pane. To this end, a special instrument system was built to define an alternative configuration of the coaxial double ring test, able to predict the fracture strength of glass large samples (400 × 400 mm) without overpressure. The thermal and lighting performance of an innovative double-glazing façade with granular aerogel was evaluated. An experimental campaign at pilot scale was developed: it is composed of two boxes of about 1.60 × 2 m2 and 2 m high together with an external weather station. The rooms, identical in terms of size, construction materials, and orientation, are equipped with a two-wing window in the south wall surface: the first one has a standard glazing solution (double glazing with air in interspace), the second room is equipped with the innovative double-glazing system with aerogel. The indoor mean air temperature and the surface temperature of the glass panes were monitored together with the illuminance data for the lighting characterization. Finally, a brief energy characterization of the performance of the material was carried out by means of dynamic simulation models when the proposed solution is applied to real case studies.

투과시스템의 광학특성을 고려한 복합적 외벽채광부의 성능평가에 관한 연구 (Design and Performance Evaluation of Hybrid Window Walls With Variable Transmittal Materials)

  • Growing use of entire glass facades with metal frames are popularly witnessed in modern building practices and design competition as well. In spite of architectural aesthetics and view to outdoors, environmental issues still exist in that kind of buildings. One of the solutions for the problems might be the use of functional glasses such as a heat-resistant glass or various tinted glasses for the glass walls. This paper aims to provide performance data related to the impact of various transmittal materials of window systems on the light distribution. A series of computer simulation deals with the basic geometrical and optical design elements of a commonly used all-glass facades. Additionally an experimental configuration of the vertical window is proposed for better result of daylighting. A window system equipped with an inner-light shelf can improve the uniformity of natural light in a space by reducing the level of illumination near the window and redirecting light deeply into the space.

  • Purpose of this study is proposal of estimating method about window thermal performance that based on KS F 2278 'Test method of thermal resistance for windows and doors' due to material composition of PVC frame window. First step of this study is research of present state about material composition of PVC frame window. Second is selection of main effective elements about window thermal resistance. For example, composition of Glazing, Frame area ratio of total window area, frame width, opening type, area of heat transfer and so on. Third is multiple regression analysis about thermal performance of PVC frame window due to main effective elements. It produces equations of multiple regression analysis due to opening type. Case of sliding window is $Y=0.149+0.034X_g+0.248X_{far}$, 4track sliding is $Y=0.584+0.175X_g+1.355X_{far}-0.008X_{fw}$, Tilt & Turn window is $Y=-0.161+0.076X_g+0.576X_{far}+0.0008X_{fw}$.

An Effective Algorithm for Transmitted Solar Radiation Calculation through Window Glazing on a Clear Day

  • The main objective of this study is to provide an effective algorithm of the transmitted solar radiation calculation through window glazing on a clear day. This algorithm would be used in developing a computer program for fenestration system analysis and shading device design. Various simulation methods have been evaluated to figure out the most accurate and effective procedure in estimation of transmitted solar radiation on a tilted surface on a clear day. Characteristics of simulated results of each step have been scrutinized by comparing them with measured results of the site as well as results from other simulation programs. Generally, the Duffie & Beckman's solar calculation method introducing the HDKR anisotropic model provided the most reliable simulation results. The DOE-2 program usually provided over-estimated simulation results. The estimation of extraterrestrial solar radiation and beam normal radiation were conducted pretty accurately. However, the solar radiation either on horizontal surface or on tilted surface involves complicated factors in estimation. Even though the estimation results were close to the real measured data during summer when solar intensity is getting higher, the estimation provided more error when solar intensities were getting weaker. The convex polygon clipping algorithm with homogeneous coordinates was fastest model in calculation of sunlight to shaded area ratio. It could not be applied because of its shape limitation.

표면 온도 저하율에 따른 창호부 결로성능 예측에 관한 연구 (Study on Estimate of Window Condensation performance Due to Temperature Depreciation Ratio)

  • This present study analyzed temperature depreciation ratio of window inside surface by KS F 2295 'Procedure for determining fenestration product condensation resistance values'. it estimated window indoor surface condensation due to variable environmental condition. Performance of condensation resistance by using temperature depreciation ratio until applied Low-e and Ar glazing improved about 45% from 24 mm clear. Temperature depreciation ratio by KS F 2295 considers analytic index of window condensation due to variable boundary condition.
